Next off, I would like to inform you all of a story I'll be writing soon, and I'd like to let a few things about it.

Just so we are clear, ALL ORIGINAL CHARACTERS are MADE BY ME: mobsters, civilians, warlords, warlocks, mystical creatures and characters, and more. I know what you all are thinking... Yes, Madara Uchiha is in an AU story, and I plan to make it work.

Just like the characters, the PLOT AND SETTINGS ARE ALSO made by me. It's in feudal Japan and a world beyond dimensions as for as the the setting goes. It includes adventure, differences in culture customs and normals, political struggles, and dark mysteries and magic behind the scenes.

This story will have some areas of emotional conflict and triggers. A mature audience is recommended and discretion is advice for anyone that is 17 or 18 and under. Will contain mature scenes, violence, profanity, mild graphic depictions of gore, power play, and spiritual context.

My thoughts about the lore of Indra Ōtsutsuki...

Simply put, Hagoromo made a grave mistake in perceiving his eldest son as his power-crazed mother in his time. He was so caught up in trying to sustain peace amongst human beings and trying to rewrite the use of chakra that he neglected the natural flux of Indra's capabilities and efforts, and the darkness that surrounded him due to neglect.

Parental accountability is very seldom yet the key to regaining honor of the children is renewed compassion.

I know parents make mistakes and it's sort of shameful when they wait WAY beyond the resentment of their children to admit their wrong. Especially if they have transcended into the afterlife.

Indra died HATING his father and brother... He wasn't alive to HEAR the apologies, the accountability, nor any reconciliation from them. They only fought him, because he was "consumed by hatred."

Most parents don't see their children's pain when they are always thinking of themselves. We all saw it in the anime, Hagoromo was always preserved in HIS way of Ninshu but underhanded his eldest son only because of his powers passed from his mother.

The root cause of this was that Kaguya (Hagoromo's mother) turned cold in the place of love due to power she inherited from the Divine Tree. He raises his children on love and yet... he mistakes Indra to grasp it on a deeper level. And what else did he do to add salt to the wound?... He took Ashura more under his wing when they were in their early adult years because Ashura didn't portray the behaviors or attributes that Indra carried.

🗣️ If you ask me... that was favoritism. Of course someone on the outside would see it as "He was just jealous!" But it's quite the opposite.

Why did Indra become this way?

If you ask me, I believe Indra saw the hypocrisy from his father during the selection for successor and the blinded loyalty from Ashura when Indra came to confront them amidst celebrating.

I will rephrase this statement Hagoromo said to Indra when he asked why didn't pick him at the succession: "Ashura gained the help and unity of people who bonded in order to work together. You, on the other hand, did it yourself and it resulted in the downfall of the village. With that being said, I want YOU to help Ashura I'm this succession and you just follow his lead."

I'll say it once and once only....

THAT. WASN'T. HIS. FAULT!

The greed of humans is the reason societies fall. Hagoromo only saw himself through Ashura and didn't see the other side of the reason to Indra's plight of the mission.

The complacency of Hagoromo, at first, was no problem to Indra, for he believed in the ways of his father's teachings and did everything only to make him proud of him. He trained everyone there, created ways to make a living better, and followed all the ways of Ninshu; this is why Indra believed it was his birthright to be successor.

The death of innocence.

If you don't know already, children are more susceptible to dark energies and entities when small because spiritual energy are on high frequency. Once that darkness latches on—even as small as a seed—it grows over time without the intervention of the parents... PARENT in his case.

And just like any human child they would choose not to tell their parents if something bad happens for the sake of keeping positive affirmations flowing from their parent's lips.

Indra didn't exactly LISTEN to Black Zetsu for a time, since he tricked him into awakening his powers with the close death of Ashura and the death of their family dog. From then he was wary and his innocence died. Throughout this time henceforth, his lens of reality he began to morph, believing Zetsu was right.

We cannot forget the roller coaster of this wave: PUBERTY.

We have gotten into the episode and didn't pay heed to the stages of growing up. As all teenagers do, we search for ourselves and who we identify as, become more autonomous in choices, and worse— battling emotions and trying to understand the people and the world surrounding us.

We must remember Indra was an instructor/master at a young age because of his genius mind and crafting Ninshu in the form of mudras (hand signs). So there was weight on his shoulders with studying, training, perfecting his skills, and such... But there was a beauty about it, he LOVED what he did, but the invisible weight of darkness pressured his mind.

The rush of a maturing male child exacerbated that embedded darkness; it began to fester inside him. It was only THEN Hagoromo noticed the change. (Shamefully...).

If Hagoromo had only pushed aside FEAR and placed COMPASSION for his son, he could've caught it in time and GUIDED Indra... That old man only sat back and WATCHED in fear. He didn't show it but it was there In his eyes... And the eyes are very telling when you look close enough.
