Lucien doesn't specify weather or not tamlin ordered him or if he volunteers or if tamlin just asked him too.

BUT!

Later, like the next page we get this.

He wouldn’t meet my gaze. “She insisted. Tamlin was … Things were bad, Feyre. I went in his stead, and I did my duty to the court. I went of my own free will. And we completed the Rite.”

No wonder she’d backed off him. She’d gotten what she wanted.

“Please don’t tell Elain,” he said. “When we—when we find her again,” he amended.

But that first sentence, "She insisted. Tamlin was … Things were bad, Feyre."

Makes me wonder if tamlin asked him at all or if ianthe told him too do it for the court, because lucien only says tamlin refused to do it because feyre had been "taken" (falling in love with rhys) he never says tamlin told him, or ordered him or even asked him to do such a thing. Lucien says it was a mess and we know ianthe is a power-hungry woman, I wouldn't be surprised if ianthe was pulling rank while tamlin was spiraling or turning feyres room into a thorn bush.

What do you think of Tamlin's role in Lucien getting assaulted by Ianthe?

I don'he had no reason to trully doubt hert really think he had much of a role beyond asking lucien to take his place in the ritual, we know that females travel from all over to have a chance at being the maiden, we know the one doing the ritual doesn't really get a choice either or atleast their ability to make choices is effected.

I personally feel like ianthe was the one who told tamlin to have lucien take his place in the ritual since we know she'll go to great lengths to get what she wants, and that because her and tamlin were child hood friends AND her position as a high priestess he had no reason to doubt her or her advice. (Thats how she managed to snatch the sisters without anyone noticing.)

But also why would tamlin force lucien to sleep with ianthe? What would he get out of that? And i dont really think tamlin would force lucien into that kind of situation after what he just went through with Amarantha.

My personal theory is that ianthe used her position to manipulate the ritual so she could take advantage of lucien and that tamlin didn't do much other than tell lucien to take his place.

The whole thing felt unnecessary to me honestly, it's not really brought up after the first half of acowar, and it felt more like a way to make tamlin seem like and even worse person and friend to lucien, and also such a crappy way to handle male sexual assult in my opinion. (But I don't really like the way SJM writes any of the male SA trauma in her series it always comes off as more of a plot device or another to hammer home that a character is a villain rather than actually having a conversation about it. And it's like this in every series.)

You know what really pissed me off about the tithe?

Why could the fish ladies not go to a different lake to get the fish to pay the tithe? They can walk. They go to summer to save feyre and amren. The fact that their lake is empty inconsequential because the fish people can walk!

Tamlin didn't say "fish from your lake only" he said "bring me some fish as payment in three days."

I haven't fished in a few years but I feel, like as fish ladies catching enough fish in three days to pay tamlin should have been an easy task especially if you can I don't know... GO FISH IN A DIFFERENT LAKE!

I never said I hated feyre, and I don't remember ever being an 'activist' i dont know if any book series is serious enough to warant activisim when it comes to just talking about the book characters. If you ou mean me thinking Rhys is a shitty highlord then sure I guess I'm an "activist" but I feel like actual activist are going to be insulted if i start saying im an activist for how a fictional book character treats his fictional people.

It's really not serious, most of the offhand comments I make are jokes.

Because none of these characters are real, they're from an overhyped romance fantasy series its never going to ever be that serious.

And I don't know which man you're referring too because you didn't give me a name but I think your talking about either eris or tamlin.

But I enjoy both these characters because of their complexity and what they could add to the story, I really liked feyre and Rhys in the first three books.

And what say and do on my blog can't hurt you and won't effect the story you enjoy. People can think, say and draw Rhys and feyre like they shit gold and piss whiskey thet can and I'm not gonna go into thier asks and accuse them of "fake activism" because they don't like tamlin or eris.
