FILM EDIT 2  Using the mirrored effect.

Here I created a series of edits to experiment with the mirror effect on premier pro. My inspiration for this effect has again came Alexander McQueen’s use of repeated pattern in his unique garments. I thought this was a good way of adding more colour and pattern into my film. I did experiment using the mirror tool to create a kaleidoscope look however when I added this to more clips I soon realised it did not fit in as well as I had hoped for. So I have decided to just go for a single mirrored effect.

FILM EDIT 1
This is my first edit that I created using the basic tools on premier pro such. This will not be my finished film as I will be adding effects to it. Overall for my first edit I am happy with the outcome as I feel that I have edited the clips well to the music. The music I chose for this film is called Willow Trees offered by Premier Pro. I feel it does give a modern feel to my film and I like how there is a background noise of birds chirping. This piece of music allows for fast pace and slow pace clips to add variation in my film. I did try out some different pieces of music however nothing seemed to fit as well as this piece of music. I knew straight away that I wanted to involve the song Willow Trees in my fashion film straight away. The chosen music gives the film a happy and cheerful mood along with bringing a light and carefree atmosphere.

Here are my final images which I have edited along with my chosen layout. I picked this layout as I feel that it helps creates the mood of a relaxed atmosphere and stillness. I also feel that this gives off a sort of modern polaroid look to enhance the grainy filters and film burning effects. I like how you really have to look closely at these images to realise the beauty of them. When looking at these images I can almost images the movements being created by the model especially for look 1 and 3.

These are photos I have taken from the Vogue January and April 2021 issues. For layout purposes, Vogue are very simplistic with their layouts which represents them as a sophisticated and elegant magazine. Although the shoots may still be fun and interesting, the only types of layout we see are full bleed, double pages for one image, staggered images and a mixture of images with the white boarder. Personally my favourite layout for any magazine is the white border when an image is situated right in the middle as it is very minimalistic.

These are my final edits which I created using the app 1967. I am very happy with the outcome of this edit for my final images. This burned film effect is also seen in my final fashion film. These edits have taken inspiration from the Alexander McQueen womenswear 2021 fashion film which I have previously spoken about within my research. The grainy and blurred effect reinforces my inspiration of old fashion films which are seen in a lot of fashion films these days. I feel that this edit will compliment my chosen layout for the images.

This edit is a mixture of the previous edits I have created. I made this edit to further my idea of repeat pattern taking inspiration from the work of Alexander McQueen. What I like about this type of edits is that it gives the opportunity to involve more colour and more patterns which puts more emphasis on the individual looks.

In Alexander McQueens pieces, a lot of the patterns have been repeated and mostly mirrored. One of his collections that stand out the most to be for having this theme is the Plato's Atlantis. I have tried to mimic this idea of the mirror effect here in these edits which will also be featured In my final fashion film

This edit is an example of the repeat pattern concept. I wanted to experiment with this overlapping of images as this is shown in my fashion film. It created a 3D type of look which also links back to the 3D details shown on the garments in the Zimmermann Spring 2021 Ready-To-Wear collection

Within this brief I have taken a lot of inspiration from Alexander McQueen. From his early collections to the fashion films which the brand showcase today. One thing that the designer was famous for was his unique capability to incorporate his fascination with flora and fauna. A lot of his most recognisable garments all involved the idea of repeat pattern. This got me thinking of how I can involve this concept into my editing. McQueens garments shown in the images above will be may main source of inspiration for my next edits of my final images.

Following on from my edits with the grainy filter, to reinforce my concept of flora and fauna, I have included low opacity images of the flowers I took while on shoot for the fashion film. For the flower images that I chosen, I have tried to link the colours together with the garments.

EDIT 1
my idea behind this edit was to replicate the grainy filtered effect which is seen in my fashion film. This will add continuity creating the old fashioned and natural vibe of my film

This is my story board which is a visual and ‘real life’ version of my shot list. Overall I am very happy with the outcome of my shoot. I feel that I achieved everything that I set out to do in terms of camera angles, movement and framing.
