Rory Gilmore inspired morning routine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wake up early so you have plenty of time to get ready before school; if you want to, you can change your alarm to the Gilmore Girls theme song!!
Open your curtains and let in some fresh autumn air; maybe you'll even catch a glimpse of the morning mist!! :)
If you want to, you can play an episode of Gilmore Girls in the background while you get ready to set the mood for the day and motivate yourself… <3
Do your skincare, brush your teeth, fix your hair, maybe some light makeup… the usual haha
Put on a cut and cosy outfit; if you want something Rory-inspired, you could go for a cute knitted sweater and some flared jeans, for example!!
Check your bag and make sure you didn't forget anything!! Also, make sure to bring your current book, so you can read on the bus or between classes. :)
Make yourself a nice breakfast and Tea or coffee!! Having a warm drink before going outside is an absolute autumn essential. <3
If you have some extra time, go through some of your school notes and coursework so you will be extra prepared for class!! :)
Also, make sure to check out my "Rory Gilmore Autumn" playlist on Spotify; if you're going for a cosy autumn vibe or are just looking for a new study playlist, I'm sure you will love it!! <3
As always, Please feel free to add your own suggestions and tips in the comments!!

Royal Women of Austria (7/?) & of Bavaria (4/?): Elisabeth “Sisi” in Bavaria
Elisabeth in Bavaria was born on Christmas Eve 1837 as the fourth child and second daughter, after her sister Helene in Bavaria, to Duke Maximilian in Bavaria and his wife Princess Ludovika of Bavaria. She is probably best known under her nickname Sisi and by her martial title of Empress of Austria, Queen of Hungary, Bohemia, Croatia, Dalmatia and many other kingdoms, duchies and principalities belonging to the Habsburg dominions.
While in fiction and especially movies, Elisabeth’s life is portrayed as glamourous and full of love, it was actually rather a tragedy. Her aunt Archduchess Sophie and her mother Ludovika had actually planned to marry her older sister to The Emperor of Austria but he instead chose her, his at the time only fifteen-year-old cousin. The myth that the marriage was full of love is most likely this, a myth. Franz Joseph was passionately in love with his wife, but she did not reciprocate his feelings fully and felt increasingly stifled by the rigidness of court life.
The marriage thrust her into the much more formal Habsburg court life, for which she was unprepared and which she found uncongenial. Later in life, she would flee from Vienna as much as possible and spend a lot of time in her Hungarian castle. Still her depressions did not stop from it and instead she became obsessed with her beauty. In later years, she always carried a fan to hide her face from photographers. Her obsession with her body also led her to do many sports. Most famously riding. She rode for hours on end which in the end made her probably the best and most known female equestrian of her time.
But the most tragic part of her life are probably her children. Franz Joseph and her had four, three daughters and one son. The oldest child, Archduchess Sophie, died of what was probably typhus fever when she was a little more than two years old. Crown Prince famously killed himself and his mistress Mary Vetsera in the Mayerling incident at the age of only 30. His marriage to Stéphanie of Belgium was without a male heir, throwing the monarchy even further into a crisis.
While staying in Geneva in 1898 under psyeudonym of Countess of Hohenembs, she was stabbed with a fine needle directly into the heart by Luigi Lucheni. He had originally planned to kill The Duke of Orléans who had left early. Elisabeth died aged 60. She was the longest serving Empress consort of Austria at 44 years.

Princesse Charlotte de Belgique

House of Coburg & of Habsburg: Princess Charlotte of Belgium
Charlotte was born as they only daughter to King Leopold I. of Belgium and his second wife Louise of Orléans. She was actually named for her father’s first wife Princess Charlotte of Wales who died in childbirth. Through Leopold, she was a member of the House of Coburg and a first cousin to Queen Victoria as well as her husband Prince Albert.
Charlotte’s mother died when she was only 10 years old. After that the young princess quickly rose to the status of her father’s favourite child. From birth, Charlotte was one of the richest princesses in Europe. Combined with her status as only daughter of Leopold I., she was desired bride. On July 27th, 1857, in Brussels, Charlotte married her second cousin Archduke Maximilian of Austria, the idealistic younger brother of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria.
With her husband’s succession to the Mexican throne in 1864, Charlotte became Empress consort by his side and kept the formal title of Empress of Mexico even after his execution in 1867. During her time as empress, she was also known as Carolta of Mexico. After the revolution, she returned to Europe were she suffered from severe depressions and paranoia fearing anyone would poison her meals. She never remarried and according to reports loved her husband until her own death.
For her time, Charlotte was a very educated woman. She spoke four languages fluently and had received lessons in philosophy, history, science, music and painting. Her flaw was that she always appeared to be arrogant and precocious. While many historians see her as the woman whose hunger for power threw her husband into ruin, the couple actually shared the common belief of being born to rule.
Charlotte died of pneumonia brought on by influenza at Bouchout Castle on January 19th, 1927, and is buried in the Royal Crypt of the Church of Our Lady of Laeken. She was the last surviving child of King Leopold I.of Belgium.
