May 2nd ~ Fiddle workshop 🎻🐱🫖

Yesterday was much more busy (hence the late post).

We had a planned visit to a local fiddlemakers workshop. He spoke very candidly about becoming a fiddlemaker due to his original job being tedious and depressing. We were shown his five string fiddle in multiple stages of the process, and a classmates had a crack at playing one.

We left him to his workshop and were given a tour of an old house on the property by his partner. We drank peppermint tea and were accompanied by his very friendly and fluffy cat.

I've been improving my russebuss, ironing on and stitching new patches to make them my own - it's very tedious but rewarding.

I finished the day off with a dungeons and dragon session, my partner fell asleep and I got multiple crits while playing his character. Sorry babe. 😅

May 1st ~ Labour day! 🇧🇻🍰🥁

It's now 29 days untill I leave Norway so I might aswell start posting about it

Today we spent Arbeidernes dag (Labour day) at the town band stand. We watched the local brass band / marching band perform. There was gratis (free/complimentary) coffee and cake provided, along with some singing.

A representative from the arbeiderpartiet gave a speech and I understood a fair amount of it. He touched on topics such as workers and people's rights, along with mentioning America, Ukraine and Palestine. I understood his comments very loosely.

I am currently spending a week in russedress (folkehøgskole challenge) so some children asked for russekort, I only have my partners from 2020 and boy does it feel weird handing those out.

I will write more about my russedress later, my partner has graciously given me theirs to keep as it's not like they wear it (or even look at it) and being russe in 2020 was not very memorable!

Later in the day I also utslised my folk highschools swimming pool for the first and probably last time.

A while back my pharmacist saw my deadname on my profile and accidentially called it out, he corrected and deleted my deadname from the system so only my preferred name shows up now. There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out -his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake.

His response: "No, it's my name now."

I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final.

Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co-workers call him by the name.
