YAY!! Sketch Challenge DAY THREE: Swipe left for the process video! For this sketch, I used reference pictures from a French Louis XV style gilt bronze centrepiece, for the positioning of the characters; and created from there. I am pretty excited about making this one into a sculpture! Can you see it too? #sculpturesketchchallenge (at Wilmington Waterfront, Wilmington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ_v3NhnmgQ/?igshid=j22iat88l7rj

Should I keep making them? 🖤 Bonus: my small Christmas tree can be spotted in the photo background. I installed it on Christmas Eve so I feel like it deserved to be kept a bit longer! ... I have been daydreaming many ideas of large charcoal drawings, ornamental ceramic pieces of furniture, and intricate lost boys sculptures that are impatiently waiting to be propelled on paper and modelled in clay. Since arriving in Wilmington, DE, we visited seven houses and townhouses. The idea will be to find a place with a large AND lovely basement and office spaces that could become our new home and workspace. Fingers crossed, we will see this pearl soon! For now, a sketchbook will do. I feel, the moment I will put a foot in my studio; I will make for weeks non-stop to catch-up with my ideas! 🖤”Grotto: Colonne », 2019. ... My studio at @intersectartscenter always felt like home from the moment I met @srbernhardt when I first reached out about a studio availability to now as I am slowly settling in Wilmington, DE. Intersect was the space I was looking for, and I cannot express enough how glad I am that we found each other. Intersect was a gift all along for me. It offered me the space I needed to create my art, the tools and workshops necessary to bring it to fruition, the vibrant energy and passionate discussions part of every good art recipe, and on top of that many friendships. During my first month in the building, I reached out to Sarah about my dream of learning ceramic. Sarah generously offered me, my first ceramic class, with @aikenceramics . I learned to throw a wobbly bol and used these sessions to pick Troy's endless knowledge on hand-building technics, gold lustre, metallic glazes and so on. I fell in ceramic, and clay became the central focus of my practice. Every piece I create holds a little bit of Intersect's shared-knowledge. During this last year at Intersect, I took care of the ceramic studio as the new studio manager and taught classes the same way I learned when I first arrived. And I know the sharing will continue. I already miss wandering through the third-floor, rushing downstairs to visit the kilns and sharing a broad smile and daily anecdotes with whoever I run across in the building. Intersect allowed me to grow in the artist I am today. Thank you for this gift. ✨✨✨ (at Intersect Arts Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIy2OkOHQRE/?igshid=y64uxjaoy374

… Long time no see! My name is Emma Vidal. I am a fine artist working with ceramic and charcoal drawing, where I develop the imaginary world of the Lost Boys tribe. First, thank you to you all for reading this post, messaging me during this past two months, and continue following my work. It is incredible to share my journey with you, and it even more rewarding to receive your lovely messages. 🖤 The past month, I had a lot of work doing illustration commissions, logo and web design. A business that I created not so long ago and that is currently taking a lot of my time. I am excited to continue soon to share my daily life as an artist and day to day progress in the studio. I gave a little pause on my plan for pins and bags while I set my mind on the finale design. For the stickers, they will soon be on their way! YAY! Thank you again so much for your kind words and support! It means the world to me! Lots of hugs!🖤✨✨🖤 📷 @bryanbirks (at Intersect Arts Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGny7KmHUhl/?igshid=17ljf2dgz79ht

... first post in 2 months! 🖤 I took a nice break from social media after realising that Instagram was starting to fry my brain from the inside. ✨ One-piece I have been super excited to share with you is this one named “The three lost boys”, 2020, an 18-carat gold lustre on glazed stoneware clay sculpture, measuring 6.4 x 4.5 x 4 inches or 16.2 x 11.4 x 10 cm. My dream of covering an entire sculpture entirely of gold lustre has arrived, and the result is beyond my expectation! ✨✨✨ . Also have you seen my latest show “Three Myths” at Gallery 210 with @lolaogbara and @julia.s.curran ? Check out the online show, link in my bio! 🖤 Hugs to you all ✨ (at Intersect Arts Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGkK9xBH7CS/?igshid=km6b7x6oklqu
