#002 music: B
an ep by Bambam
first thing first: I donāt even know how Iām still alive after this ep.
second thing: Bambam, if you ever read this post, please, understand that you are a flawless human being sent from the paradise straight to your proud listeners.
third thing: Bambam is my religion.
last thing: skrrt skrrt.
Ā .
Iām not very intoĀ āintrosā, but SatellitesĀ hits different. every ahgase knows that our double B is really relieved after leaving that company - I donāt know about you, but I feel that he is the happiest one from our seven babies.Ā
his courage is very explicit, mostly because he expresses his freedom in each of his lyrics both directly and indirectly:
It's getting harder and harder for you to coming near me Y'all said this is the end but is just beginning Saying how you never be the main thing 'Cause when you had your chance you just couldn't hang
Nowadays I sip tea, I mind my business All these blessings coming in, don't come with forgiveness You try to bring me down but cannot get a witness Y'all see me do my thing, I'm living your wishes
I usually skip the intros, but this one is just impossible to me since the beat is amazing and it matches perfectly with his voice.Ā
for me, it sounds like heās saying: āsorry, canāt hear you over the sound of how amazing my songs areā.
.
Who Are YouĀ is a piece of art itself. itās a synesthetic song. itās a deep song with a soft sound.Ā while I listen to it, I can feel that it sounds like a cloudy day that is threatening to rain, but that never drops a single raindrop. in other words: itās a gray song that tastes like a lime candy and that smells like wet grass.Ā
youtube
I really love the maze concept that is well explored in the lyrics and in the MV (my vision was so pleased while watching it). other than that itās clearly emphasized through his dance with Seulgi.
the presence of mirrors/reflexes made me think that this song suggests a self dialogue - or a monologue - in which his inner self is sang by Seulgi. the dreamy atmosphere matches the illusionary love theme, but instead of being about a couple or about a person that he has fallen in love, I think itās related only to him, he and himself, who is wandering around searching for an answer to the question:Ā āwho are you?ā.
Who are you? ė§ģ¹ ėÆøė” ź°ģ [like a labyrinth] But I like you, like to find you ė ź¹Øė¬ģ someone else in mind [I realized someone else in mind]
as the song goes by, he slowly finds the right path in this self discover / knowledge / love maze. when his (inner) voice becomes clearer, he starts to accept himself the way he is.
this song is beautiful in every sense.
.Ā
forĀ Slow MoĀ I gotta say that, as Bambam is my religion, this song is my orison.
youtube
since the first time I listened to this song I felt that Slow Mo is the color of Bambam. the pastel shade palettes, the retro background and the breezy outfits (by the way, I would totally steal all of his wardrobe) compose the charms of his aesthetic.
what I understood from this song is also related to his freedom, I mean, the time is less fast now that he can actually do everything that he wants to. the vibe is something like: āitās a new beginning! so letās celebrate it with many dreams and lots of love without any hurryā.
the gooses and their feathers can make reference to the ahgases and to his first solo song: riBBon.Ā
Melting slowly ģė”ź° ė źæģ 꿨ė ė§ķ¼ [as we dreamt each other] ė®ģź°ė ėģ ėģ ė§ģ [my heart resembles yours] 물ė¤ģ“ ź°ģė” ģ ėŖ
ķ“ģ ø [becoming more vivid as we draw near]
the feeling of belonging, of being closer to love (of all kinds) is what lingers the time that is shared between him and all of the people that believe in him.
one thing that hits me every time I watch the MV is the cloud with storms that take place in the part in which he says that he wasnāt like that in the past, that is, before he met this people. this is so meaningful and beautiful... I donāt even have words to describe what I feel, so Iāll just say that my eyes always get wet when I listen to this song (the rhythm that starts the first seconds of the song has the incredible ability to make my heart melt).
.
Subliminal is the typical song with a catchy rhythm that makes you dance without realizing.Ā
youtube
after paying attention to its lyrics I felt that this song would fit perfectly in a rom-com movie from Netflix. in my opinion, the thing that stood out the most are the voices in the background, since the way that they were blended (like if they were some friendly echoes) reminded me a lot the songĀ āSunflowerā from Post Malone. thinking thatĀ Bambam is a huge fan of him, I think that resemblance was purposeful and, in my opinion, it harmonizes so well with his style that I really hope we will have more songs like this one in a near future.
Somebody said love was free Running out of currency Paid you attentionĀ And got nothing back in return
the whole song is filled with a sensation ofĀ āfloating in the outer spaceā, but in this second verse it seems that the gravity someway somehow pulled us for a moment just to show us that we should always have some time to breath.
.
Let Me Love You: what a song.Ā
the fact that he tries to comfort his listeners through his songs (not only this one but all of the above) is so cozy that this song smells like morning bread and hot tea to me.
among all the groups that I follow, Bambam is, in my vision, the most complete. I mean, the guy was born to be an idol, but in the same time he is one of the most humble and caring. his positive vibe is so strong that it has the power to make everybody feel good.
ģģ ź°ģ ź¹ģ§ ė¤ [even the little emotions] ė“ź° ź³µź°ķ ź²ģ [Iāll empathize with you] ķøķź² baby, fall asleep [comfortably] ģķź³ ģģ“ ė§¤ģ¼ [youāre doing fine every day]
the only problem with this song is that after listening to it I wanna talk to Bambam until I fell asleep.
.
Ride or Die was the best choice to end this EP, since it refreshes us after all the (happy) tears that we drop with the previous songs.
I saw on Twitter that there was a rumor in which Mark offered Bambam a song and, because of Markās posts on Instagram, some ahgases thought that this song was the one. I donāt know the authenticity, but it actually makes a lot of sense in my view, since its vibe reminds Born Ready.
I didnāt captivate much from the lyrics, but I feel that the intention was to put this song at the end in order toĀ ācallā the listeners for the next comeback - which Iāll be eargely waiting.
.
I hope this text reaches you well! take care and see u!

#001 music:Ā ēåå°
a song by Jackson Wang
Iām a little late, but I couldnāt start posting my reviews if my first post wasnāt related to our dear Jackson Wang from China, aka the guy who GOT me into GOT7. 谢谢, baby.Ā
.
as a half Chinese girl, after I started knowing and following this Chinese guy (who totally dominates not only the K-World but also the Earth itself), I felt that my whole world got brighter and colorful.Ā
the first song I ever listened from Jackson wasĀ TITANICĀ and... man... if that masterpiece didnāt take a part of your soul away atĀ
They ain't even like me last yearĀ Now they know my face China on the pace We be in the place
re-listen to it cause that sh*t is amazingly powerful.
after I started following all of his projects (both solo works or in group activities), I realized how important is to always remember our life origin - heās so proud for being Chinese that it should be enough to hush all of the haters and xenophobes that unfortunately still exists in this planet.
.
in his last song - named after his own name in Chinese -, Jackson shares a little bit of his history with us. we saw a preview inĀ Ā äøåäŗŗ, but while this first song is full of symbols and hidden meanings, in ēåå°, the lyrics go straight to the point, that is, it allows us to clearly see what he has been through.
both songs hold deep and personal feelings and memories - which I think is very brave and brilliant from his part, once his audience is HUGE and also because itās extremely difficult to translate some things into a song.Ā Ā
I donāt know if that was the intention, but I felt that these two songs complement each other, not only, but mainly because the rhythms are very similar: both of them make me feel like I was walking along with Jackson on an endless path that I could call as āmysteries of life from past to futureā.
other thing that called my attention was the background: in Ā äøåäŗŗ we have a broken city with some details that represent some of the important episodes of his life (like the Olympics symbol), as well as in the ēåå°, in which the illustration captures all the places he went (like JYP entertainment) and his dearest people (his family and the PANTHEPACK members) that hold important roles in his life.
the main feelings that these songs hold are loneliness alongside with strength, instead of what some may think, the first one is not viewed as a burden, but as something that intensifies the second one.Ā
thus being a Chinese in the middle of South Korea for 10 years must be a tough thing to deal (especially if you are a teenager),Ā when he sings about the familiar language spoken by a lady who owned a Chinese restaurant, he once again emphasizes the importance of our genesis (this is the time that Jackson knocked me out).
Asian people demonstrate their love/support/empathy through food. the fact that he dedicates a part of his song to this Chinese woman who fed him with a free meal composed by fried rice and an extra portion of fried eggs is the reason why I love andĀ admire this guy so much. like he always does, he impact us not only through this voice but also through a sensible content, full of rich images and life philosophies.
.
I hope this text reaches you to the point that:
- if you havenāt listened to Jacksonās song, please, take a time to appreciate his incredible works!
- if you have already listened to Jacksonās song, please, listen to it again because this baby deserves all the love.
take care and see u!
