““If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.””

“Loving hard can be easy actually, for those of us who feel everything with great intensity. I used to think that maybe I was also hard to love, but now I see that was anxiety. Because I am being loved hard back and it is exhilarating and feels like coming home. I have also seen people claiming to love hard who are confusing love for other things, using it to excuse unloving behaviors. The way I see it, loving hard doesn’t mean being controlling or possessive. It isn’t making digs and passing it off as ‘just being honest.’ It’s not about trying to one-up, keeping a running tally of who owes whom. And though it will weigh heavy on the heart for some time, it is about letting go if that’s what our loved one wants.”
— Loving hard always comes down to having another’s best interest at heart
