IO
- for the next io i need to remember to focus on how the global issus is defined the by the literary techniques used in the text. I also must remember to consult the teacher if I am having any troubles with the composition of the IO and the IO frgaments. At last I must remember to redo the IO and time myself as many times as it is possible.

Paper 2 - after thoughts
In the future I need to remember to focus on the structure of my paragraphs to keep my work clean and steady but also to induce a flow in the essay. I also need to work on my terminology for it to be accurate and on a more advanced level. At last I must try not to use repetition in my essay.
I should practice writing essays in the exam conditions in certain times to avoid small mistakes that take away the needed points for a better grade.

IO - brainstorming
I have looked at several speeches when looking at the global issue of manipulations and its consequences on the third parties, however it was really hard to determine the specific parts of a speech that would fit the analysis on manipulation. I have finally chosen a suggested documentary by the teacher as it perfectly fit the topic of disinformation and its effects on the society. When in comes to the literary extract I have chosen Othello by William Shakespeare as I believe it is the most understood play that we have analyzed in class be me, and thus I felt confident to talk about the topic of manipulation that is present in the play. When choosing the specific extracts from both literary and non literary texts I have chosen those which visibly mention the area of manipulation I have focused in. In the end I have aligned my IO structure with the IO outline so that I could easily remind myself of what I should say during the exam.

IO REFLECTION
- After the IO what I believe went well was the timing of the mock - as I managed to fully capture my ideas in the designated 10min.
- In the future I should focus on less repetition and a more in depth analysis of the chosen extracts, I also need to focus on the whole structure in the IO to keep a balanced analysis of both chosen extracts.
In the end I need to practice the IO multiple times at home using a timer to effectively recognize the areas I need to improve.

Dystopian Fiction
1.
- One feature of a dystopia that I found rather surprising is the loss of individualism. I always thought that in a post apocalyptic world people are able to explore new lands but also explore themselves as well. I was wrong, because of the state of the government at the time of post-apocalyptic crisis people tend to loose themselves and fade in with the rest of the society.
- One book that I believe is worth reading is „The Giver’’ by Lois Lawry. I think the book is worth a read as I’m interested in how the author portrayed the „Sameness” of the community.
2.
- Oppressive regime in Gilead
- Environmental issues (pollution, radiation)
- Social attitudes towards women ( societal beliefs)
- Resistance movements (resilience of human nature)
- international relations
-Antwood collected newspaper clippings and researched historical and social studies about the creation of Gilead
- She drew parallels between real life issues and historical events to create the dystopian novel
3. Gender oppression - society where woman are severly oppressed and are a subject to specific rules they must obey
- Environment problems - degradation, pollution and climate change have destroyed the planet
- Totalitarian regime - strict rules l, propaganda and very bad punishments for not obeying the rules.

IO challenges
When it comes to the oral the challenges I believe I will face are as follows:
I will completely forget how to speak english (the stress)
I wont answer the questions asked by the teacher properly and thoughfully showing a deep understanding of the studied work.
I wont be able to properly manage the time spend on certain areas I want to explore in my oral.

Paper 2 challenges
As mentioned before I believe that some of the challenges that I will face when writing paper 2 are as follows:
I will struggle with time managment, I am not sure I will be able to fully finish writing the whole paper and be satsified with what I wrote
I'm scared I will forget about the structure that I'm supposed to keep when writing paper 2, thus loosing points.
I'm not sure if I will be able to compare and contrast both of the texts enough and within a good structure as mentioned before.

Three most important takeaways for your writing from Orwell's "Politics and the English language"
Be as simple as possible following the Orwell's six rules.
Use precise language - staying away from vague terms.
Use clear and concrete language don't overuse metaphors as this makes the writing easier to understand and not open to multiple interpretations.

Paper 1 Challenges
The potential challenges I see facing in paper 1, are as follows:
I am concerned about the time managment - whether I will have enough time to finish writing both of my analysis.
I also think about organizing th essay in a logical and effective structure as I had problems with this in class- especially in exam conditions.
I don't want to stray off from the question that is supposed to be answered in the answer which I also could stand as a potential challenge for me.
At the end I don't want to use general language and get crushed under the pressure of the exam conditions.

Kaisarion - I found this poem particularly interesting because of how Cafavy imagines this non-existant king to be a perfect man to free his sexual and romantic desires. I also really liked the fact that at the start of the poem the author shows his ignorance for female rulers which is very interesting.
Paper 1
I feel like the one problem or challenge that I had was choosing the right texts as the examples in analyzing the given themes. It was a hard task because of the amount of different poems available. I tried to prepare for this problem by rereading the poems and choosing some of them to represent the most obvious themes used by Cavafy this enabled me to be somehow ready analyze the right poem quicker and with more depth.
