I was once asked in real life what my pronouns are and it didn't make me feel good and it actually made me hate the person straight on.

She looked at me, a butch woman, and immediately thought "she doesn't look like what society thinks a woman looks like, so she might not be a woman at all" and if you think this is progressive you are wrong.

You're all about gender non conformity, yet ask for people's pronouns specifically because they are gender non conforming. That's a contradiction in your belief.

For all the optionally brain-dead tumblr users who STILL think Ariana Grande is pretending to be black, just admit you’ve never gone outside and you don’t know shit about anyone from the Mediterranean region.

I mean for fucks sake I went to high school with kids who were 100% Greek and 100% Italian and many of them had darker skin than some “POC” (which is honestly a ridiculous term but here we are still using “colored people” reworded).

So either 1. you don’t know how tans work, 2. you don’t know how American beauty standards are bc being tan is much more the standard than being pale, so it’s pretty common for celebs to spray tan, or 3. you’ve never actually met anyone who was “white” and not super pale. Or you did and you just assume you know a person’s ethnicity without asking them and assume anyone with a tan could NEVER be European.

Y’all are the same people who also probably think Dua Lip, Rita Ora, and Kim Kardashian are “blackfishing” simply for not being pale and having dark hair and eyes. It’s not their fault you’re too lazy to look up what their ethnicity is lmao.

They were being harrassed and degraded, called names and slurs, because of being gay. What is the lgbt community doing? Hot take: people waiting for celebrities to "speak out" about things like racism are just fans wanting to be reassured that they can keep supporting their fave. No sane, well-informed person with their own moral compass would await confirmation that racism is bad from celebrity #397.

Extra-hot take: if you expect these people to use their platform to educate, why? Why do you think they know better than people who dedicate their lives to these causes and can do a better job of imparting meaningful information? Go look to your community leaders and your teachers for information, maybe?

Super spicy take: if you think these celebs are actually able to influence people to evaluate their biases and moral code and perception of issues, then ask yourself why you would want a person largely isolated from major social and economic issues to even have that kind of influence.

I’ve noticed between tumblr and twitter, tumblr has more radicial neoracists with the most fucked double standard ideas ever, but they have less interaction with normal people so their ideas are rarely challenged.

Whereas twitter also has people who are off the rails, but they’re more likely to have normal people interact and challenge their insanity, so they’re a liiiiitle bit more grounded. But now the bar for “normalcy” is constantly moving on twitter, so both platforms are overrun with politically deranged idiots.

Tumblr has more fucked ideas, but they’re more isolated. So honestly I don’t know which platform is worse anymore lmao.
