Oh, absolutely. I wish this mindset was more prevalent in general amongst critters, even extending to the content and style of any campaign.

There's a way to criticise aspects of each campaign, even of the players (without going into an ad hominem, mind you!), and voice concerns. But to just throw a frustrated "it's gonna suck and I hate all of you for not giving me the thing I liked in a different, but also perfectly aligned to my tastes, shades of green" around is so not helpful.

Do I love Matt in the DM chair? Hell yes. But that man has pulled of 10+ years of constant DMing in a world he created, and did not expect to snowball into the absolute behemoth that CR/Exandria has become to the TT community. He deserves to rest on those laurels, to recharge his creative brain and to not have to hold the reins of another campaign for however long he wants

I understand that a lot of the Critical Role fandom is neurodivergent and change, especially big changes and little warning before them, is scary. But throwing temper tantrums and blaming and bashing the cast for how upset you are, is extremely immature and embarrassing.

I say this as an neurodivergent person, who hates change as much as y’all. But y’all are showing how parasocial you guys are with the cast. You can be upset, nervous, even frustrated at the new changes. That is reasonable, and even a little expected. The tantrums, whining, and insults are certainly NOT how to deal with these changes and y’all can’t use autism as an excuse to be assholes.

Fanfic is a free hobby.

It's one of the last few things we can have as a society that's free. You can engage, for free. People give you things (art, stories, etc), for free.

Don't buy into the consummerism just because it's everywhere else.

You don't have to consume everything you interact with. You don't have to use things, just because they exist.

You're allowed (still, for now), to have things that are enjoyable for free.

Do you realise how insane the world is? We don't have many places where we can just be, for free anymore, but ao3 is. Did you notice we don't have ads in ao3? We don't have pop ups? Where ELSE do we not have that?

Where else can you just go and not have to wait for a commercial to be over or for ads to be on the sidelines?

I don't think the younger people understand, but the whole of internet used to be like this. YouTubers would do Youtube for free, just because. You couldn't monetise your internet presence before.

Ao3 is like a little preserved corner of the internet where the old internet used to be, and it's being attacked by people who do not understand that free things are allowed to exist without judgment.

Please don't ruin this for us.

Every time I listen to this song, I want to do a Jimin and carve it into my chest. Maybe someday we'll discover a method to tattoo music and I will write all my pains, my struggles and tears as the melodies that have made up my life into my skin.

And maybe a thousand years from now someone will decipher the melodies like they have decoded Otzi and they'll see that there may have been pain and upheaval in my lifetime, but there was such beauty, too.

Also people being like "why go from no references in C2 to this" and I don't get why this is a question.

C2 was directly after C1, literally as fresh of the press as possible. It would've felt like they were trying to rehash the formula, or use cheap fanservice to keep critters tuned in.

It's been a while since C1 now, though.

C3, for all its faults, also doesn't do it cheaply. VM and M9 being there feels earned. Sometimes, I wish it wouldn't limit BH (or rather the players limit themselves). However, the how and why VM especially got involved makes sense.

The Somnovum was such a niche villain, and in no way on the same level as Ludinus. Ludinus is threatening the fabric of the universe, and all of VM have incredibly high stakes in this.

As a fan, smn who became a critter with C2, I want closure for VM. I want them to save Vax, to find a solution for him - they deserve happiness. And this conflict has been brewing for so long, and Matt managed to tie all of it into the Ludinus plot sooooo incredibly (like who shoves a Vax into an orb? Who does that?).

I'm just tired of people hating. It's often so mindless, feeding into the "I don't like it = it's objectively wrong" narrative and doesn't put forward anything productive.

As a DM and DnD player, I long for the things Matt gets to do. Imagine yourself in their shoes, imagine playing DnD for such a long time with different characters and then you get to witness the impact all of them had. You get to witness them BE the heroes, and save the world again. That's incredible!

C3 has gone beyond fanservice - fanservice is them putting callbacks into the animated series, it's them asking for the members of the Taldorei council. It's all a service to the players, too, because they themselves are fans as much as players. Do people not feel joy when the cast gets to fuck around Whitestone and meet the De Rolo kids? Do these watchers not yell out when they hear a familiar German accent?

If so, I kinda pity them because why deprave yourself of all that fun. You can not like sth. That's up to you, but pushing these narratives to somehow justify it despite dislike just...sometimes being enough? Not great. Especially if they're not ready to then engage in meaningful discussions...

If I see one more “I’m sick of all the references and appearances from old campaigns” NO THIS IS THE POINT OF IT. IT IS A GAME. THE PLAYERS ARE HAVING FUN. TRAVIS STARTED TEARING UP SEEING GROG. LIAM GOT TO DECORATE CALEB’S HOUSE. LAURA GOT TO PUT DICKS IN IT. THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT. IT’S THE 8 (9) OF THEM PLAYING A GAME. AND WE GET TO ENJOY IT TOO. WE GET TO FREAK OUT WHEN THE HOT BOI IS ON SCREEN OR THE GIANT UNDEAD TITAN IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY. How are people not enjoying this why do you watch a homebrewed world if you don’t love to see all of the effects that the players have had on this world that was made by and for them
