General Chapter 5 Skeleton Prediction
I'm gonna put my thoughts on this in writing just in case I'm right. This is VERY speculative, to be clear, and I'm not claiming to be entirely right, this is just my working guess at this moment. I believe that Chapter 5 will be a very interesting chapter. Susie puts a lot of emphasis that Tomorrow we need to do something about the bunker:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which, combined with the insane pace the story is going, kind of makes me think we're going to get all 3 pieces of the bunker code in Chapter 5. And it's a near certainty that Chapter 5 is gonna be Flower King.
So my guess is that the chapter goes as follows, in broad strokes: Kris wakes up, another day as usual. Sans is annoyingly still home. We meet up with Susie. Hometown is preparing for the festival all over. We visit Castle Town (WHICH IS ACTUALLY GOOD THIS TIME), but we realize we left a lot of recruits back in the Church. Most notably Jack, who Susie specifically calls out as someone we'll have to go back for:
Tumblr media
I think we'll go back to the church in the morning to steal Jack (and maybe some other darkners? Or maybe just straight up to get the shelter code from the church? IDK how this plays out in a violent route, bear with me here) and Father Alvin is there. He's. going to be very very confused. Remember, the church is like, entirely thrashed after our battle with the Titan:
Tumblr media
And, further, Alvin's desk has been searched through, his father's hammer is on his desk, with a poorly written (but very encouraging) note alleging things about his father's actual intentions.
Frankly, I have absolutely zero idea what he's going to THINK happened here. But I think that somehow, someway, the note that Susie wrote is going to be the key, and somehow we'll convince him to give us the Shelter code for the church. Maybe he's in on the conspiracy and was told to keep us away?? But he's vaguely aware of the dark world stuff and is able to put it together that we're the heroes and he needs to help us??? I don't really know, this part's really iffy. Point is I think we're getting the code from Alvin. That's one down, restoring Susie's confidence that we can actually do this. After some further sleuthing around hometown and some shenanigans, eventually Susie learns that Asgore used to be the chief of police. Maybe we can get the police code from him! We visit flower king, but uh oh! It's a dark world!
I'm not entirely sure how the dark world itself plays out. It's... *possible* toriel is brought in? Given how Asgore makes a big point of wanting to prove something to Toriel, it's entirely possible that when he comes back to his shop and supernatural dark smoke is pouring out, his first instinct it to show it to toriel to prove he isn't crazy. .??Maybe he sees Toriel with Sans and that's what causes the "jealousy" that was mentioned in Gerson's preview? Who knows man. Point is... We eventually work through the DW and we manage to get through to Asgore, who is willing to give us the Police Code, and help us get the holiday code by giving us a key to house..? It seems really intentional that Asgore works at Carol's house. Noelle does point out that Carol never gave the Dreemurrs a spare key but surely if Asgore works there he'd have a key to get in? In any case, that's two down, and only one remains- at Holiday Manor. We seal the dark world, and are about to attempt a break-in, but Noelle shows up! It's Festival time, after all ! The Festival segment is very fun and enjoyable and kinda gets in the way of any attempt to get into holiday manor. At this point Noelle is in serious trouble for letting Susie in the house and would obviously not want Susie to come over again, meaning that as long as Noelle is with us, Holiday Manor is a no-go. I'm unsure how the festival proceeds beyond this. My guess is that eventually Noelle (and Carol) are distracted by something and Susie realizes that this is our chance, and drags Kris along to make an attempt on the code there, where we enter through the back door. Unfortunately, Dess' guitar is missing from her room- Carol must've moved it. Kris, working with the Knight / Phone Voice, obviously attempts to sabotage this like before, but is unable to get in touch with Carol (due to the festival distractions) and, despite their best efforts, we're able to countersabotage enough to where we're able to get Susie to find the Guitar and get the Code, which we already kinda knew, 1225. The chapter ultimately ends with us having all three codes and opening the bunker door, with the chapter ending as Susie jumps in, with a hesitant Kris following behind. Will this happen? Who knows. I think at minimum we're getting the police code from Asgore, and Susie puts a lot of emphasis on getting the Holiday code tomorrow. And I think the letter to Alvin is probably the key to getting the church code. So all of the pieces for getting the codes are in place atm. The real question is the order, which, frankly, we have no way of knowing. But I think it makes sense to get the holiday code last, since Asgore could conceivably help us get into holiday manor...

DELTARUNE CHECKLISTS
Hey, you! Yeah, You! DELTARUNE Player! You want to create Chapters 1-2 completion files, don't you!? And you also want to find all the secrets in Chapters 3-4, right!? But, it's too risky to use The Internets during your playthrough to remind you of all the stuff. If only there was some sort of resource to act as a reminder of all the secrets you can come to expect... OH, WAIT! THERE [Is]! AND NOW I'M [[Passing the savings onto you!]]
Introducing the Ultimate Chapters 3-4 Checklist.
LINK:
This handy document contains easy reminders of all the Cool Things you probably are going to want to do in your playthrough!
The idea is simple: You print this out, and keep it handy. You can then easily refer back to it if needed without having to risk looking anything up!
It's pretty thorough, honestly. From the universal seemingly-all-chapter patterns...
Tumblr media
To the more specific, recurring plotlines.
Tumblr media
It's all here. As an added bonus, it also comes with a massive checklist for all the Secret Boss patterns people have noticed over the years. Want to find out what the Secret Bosses have in common? Keep track yourself, in real time!
Tumblr media
It's really, really cool!
Huh? What's that, you say? You don't have CHAPTERS 1+2 Files ready yet? Well, lucky for you, there's a SECOND Checklist for Chapter 1 and Chapter 2! LINK:
This Bad Boy should hopefully guide you through doing everything you need for your Completion Files. For instance, you probably want to remember to do the Spincake sidequest! Wouldn't want to be stuck without that when you're fighting... whatever the Chapter 4 Secret Boss is, huh? SO! GO FORTH! I hope that at least someone finds use for this. I made the 3-4 checklist for my own purposes, but hey, maybe others will find value in it! This Bad Boy should hopefully guide you through doing everything you need for your Completion Files. Once the chapters are out, I will probably combine both of these into a single Chapters 1-4 Big Ol' Checklist. To put both links in one place, here they both are, back to back:

It would appear that DELTARUNE may potentially have been rated on Switch Eshop.
The rating has been updated to include "In-game purchases." (There was always a rating, but it did not specify purchases prior)
As of March 15, this was not present. https://web.archive.org/web/20250314201026/https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/deltarune-chapter-1-and-2-switch/
These changes have also been applied to the Playstation store, suggesting this is indeed a DELTARUNE thing.
It is unclear whether this actually means the game has been rated.

THE BERDLY CONSPIRACY
A very common DELTARUNE discussion topic is when exactly The Cyber World was created. Some argue it was made between chapters overnight, some argue that it must've been made after Noelle and Berdly arrived. I am very much in the camp that the Fountain must have been made at some point during the afternoon/morning of Chapter 2- After school had ended. I realized after typing out my conclusion that I actually should probably establish Closet Knight first, because I'm not entirely sure how familiar the wider fandom is with it. Behold, the Closet in question:
Tumblr media
(screenshot courtesy of this ancient reddit post ) I feel like the only reasonable explanation for this flavor text is that The Knight hid in this closet- something that only makes sense if the Fountain was created during the day.
It has been argued by some that this actually refers to GIGA Queen, or that this is referring to Kris potentially hiding Berdly's body in the weird route. But I don't really think either of those make sense. As for GIGA Queen... I don't really think that makes sense. The Mansion is not this closet- the cabinet on the other side of the room is seemingly the mansion, with its backup devices (servers) and mice. I actually feel like the closet is completely unaccounted for in the Dark World. Which makes its inclusion all the more interesting- why add this closet here? Why make it *open*? Why is it ajar? Surely it would've been easier to just draw a closed door? As for Berdly's body... I don't think the body would need to be hidden? I feel like the sweepstakes heavily, heavily implies that Lightners still turn to dust:
Tumblr media
Spamton going out of his way to specify that the Jar is what would happen if "I died just like I became a real boy and became graveyard dust" to me, at least, basically confirms that lightner monsters turn to dust like in Undertale- What else could spamton possibly mean by "dying just like a real boy"? So, I don't really think the body would need to be particularly hidden in this sense- and, even if we assume this is the case, why does the closet specify large person? I think it makes sense if we assume The Knight used the closet- it specifies "A large person could easily fit in here" so that we don't, say, try and use the apparent size of the closet to rule out candidates. If a large person could easily fit, then basically anyone could fit in the closet with ease.
There are ... several, other details that you can rope into this sort of discussion, which I'm not particularly going to go over, but, as a brief overview:
Queen mentions that The Knight created the Dark World "Today", which is odd phrasing if it happened overnight
Noelle and Berdly's books being on the table (something that is acknowledged with dialog) is odd if the room was already a Dark World when they arrived
Queen remarking "Hell Of A Study Session" would suggest the Study Session did, in fact, begin.
Ralsei saying he "Sensed a dark presence and hurried over" suggests the Dark Presence in question is at least somewhat recent.
So, in my eyes, the timeline looks something like this:
The Knight is in the Computer Lab, preparing to make a Dark Fountain. They have reasoned this is a good location, as the internet outage makes it highly unlikely anyone would actually want to use the Computer Lab. All they have to do is lock the door behind them, and people will assume the lights are off and that it's simply closed.
Suddenly, Noelle and Berdly enter the Library. The Knight, in panic, hides away in the Closet, hoping they'll leave.
Noelle and Berdly begin their study session- it becomes increasingly obvious that they are here for the long haul, and are not going to leave any time soon.
The Knight, now stuck in the closet, decides that the best they can do to salvage this situation is to make the Dark Fountain here and now, bringing Noelle and Berdly into the Dark World with them.
As an aside, there are two details relevant for this particular point:
Due to the smoke filling the room, it's impossible for Noelle and Berdly to see what's happening:
Tumblr media
2) Noelle freezes in fear and confusion:
Tumblr media
And, I heavily doubt that Berdly would abandon Noelle in her time of need here. Therefore, neither Noelle nor Berdly see what's actually happening, nor do they escape the room in time. Continuing,
The Knight, Berdly, and Noelle enter the Dark World. The Knight begins speaking to Queen, trying to coach her on what to do, introducing itself as "The Roaring Knight", and getting as far as explaining how they made the Dark World with Determination before being forced to flee before they're spotted and identified.
The Knight flees the Dark World through unknown means, forgetting to lock the door behind them in their hurry.
Almost immediately after this, as if by divine plot intervention, an Annoying Dog starts doing donuts outside, causing a massively convenient Traffic Jam that prevents the Delta Warriors from pursuing the Knight or gaining further insight.
This all gets us as far as Closet Knight, which is nothing new, but often debated.
However, the point of this post is that I'd actually like to go a step further. I believe it is possible that The Knight created the Cyber World when Berdly was in the room... but before Noelle had actually arrived.
I propose: The Berdly Conspiracy.
Tumblr media
This has several implications, for instance, it explains why Berdly was not in Cyber Field at the start of the chapter- He "spawned" near the Mansion, since he was already at his desk.
It also kind of recontextualizes why Queen thinks Berdly is so annoying- The Knight left when he showed up. She might hold it against him.
But, the most important implication, would be that Berdly has actually seen The Knight. Why hasn't he mentioned this? Remember, Berdly wasn't there when Queen monologued about The Knight, and by the time we seal the fountain, he's under the impression that this is all a dream. There was never really a moment where he would've been aware that the information he had was relevant or at all important and had an opportunity to share it- from his perspective, he saw Queen speaking to someone, who left in a hurry.
I can see it now... There will be a scene in, like, Chapter 5, where the Fun Gang is trying to figure out who The Knight is, and what their plans are, and Berdly has some incredibly important insight or information, and susie's all like, "YOU DOLT WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US THIS!?!?!?!" And Berdly is just like "Well, YOU told me that it was just a dream, Susan!! Why would I bring up something that I saw in my dream!?" and it's hilarious. I see the vision. This, obviously, is not foolproof- you still have the question of why Berdly and Noelle ended up at their desks at the end of Chapter 2, and also why Noelle is so easy to accept that it was a dream. (It is often argued that surely if the room were already dark when they arrived, they wouldn't be so easy to accept they 'fell asleep' if they can't even remember getting inside?) But I find it oddly compelling, and an interesting school of thought for consideration.
