You can reach us at contact at blogwatch dot tv “Epal” is slang for “mapapel,” a Filipino term for attention grabbers or people who crave a role (papel) in affairs that are not necessarily theirs to handle or decide. The word "epal" became a buzzword when President Benigno Aquino III initiated a shame campaign against such annoying public officials. It is a common practice among public officers, whether elected or appointed, to append their names to public works projects which were either funded or facilitated through their office. This gallery shows these "mapapel" officials and/or tarpaulins or campaign paraphernalia even before the official campaign period. To contribute, tweet #epalwatch with your photo link, date, location, and attribution if not your own photo. Tag @momblogger or @philippinebeat . You can also email contact at blogwatch.tv Note: if billboards or tarpaulins have been removed, please comment on the photo. REPORT to COA Citizen's desk Based on Circular 2013-004, the Commission of Audit (COA) requires government officials to notify the public of their offices’ projects, programs and activities but “at the least possible cost” on the essential features of the undertaking. “The display and/or affixture of the picture, image, motto, logo, color motif, initials or other symbol or graphic representation associated with the top leadership of the project proponent or implementing agency/unit/office, on signboards, is considered unnecessary.” Submit reports : Email: [email protected] SMS: 09155391957

Most hi-tech epal ever
“MOST HI-TECH EPAL EVER! Advanced talaga itong mag-isip ano? Wala pa yang planong tumakbo ano? Paano na kaya kung kampanya na? Go, go, go sa panggaga-GO! Tapos pinamigay pa sa isang government-sponsored na pagtitipon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan. Ito ba ang dapat tularan ng mga kabataang-lider ng ating lipunan? #BagongSK tapos ito ang dadatnan nila? Parang di bago, makaluma pa rin. Dear SK, huwag pong pamarisan! Hindi pasok, at all levels! It’s a no-GO for us! #Epal #BongGo #HiTechEpal #AdvancedMagIsip#WallpaperKadiri #SelfieKingTurnedEpalKing“

In the school gym at South Cotabato
“I've already had enough of the "Let's GO, Bong Go" tarps. Pero sabi niya, hindi naman daw siya tatakbo, so he ordered that the tarps be removed. Now this. This was on our school gym earlier and people all over South Cotabato were invited. Ano ba talaga?“ https://twitter.com/xypalarca/status/1017781497124700161/photo/1

On NLEX
Dear lawyer friends and public servants,
When Bong Go receives "donations" and "sponsorship" from the likes of NICE HOTEL for a public billboard promoting his image, isn't that a violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for public officials? Isn't that the same as receiving gifts from private interests? Isn't a law being violated if he accepts such "gifts" ? Nagtatanong lang po.

Bong Go shirts & baller together with Php 1500.00 distributed during Oath-Taking Ceremonies of Punong Barangays. Where did the fund for this come from? Why is Bong Go's name and face all over them?
