I really liked the contrast between the rainbow colors and the monochrome figures. For me, the colors symbolize the power of love to win over gray reality. The interesting historical context and accuracy makes the art even more powerful. History is queer 💜⚔️🌈 # all we need is love

Tried reimagining warriors from the Sacred band of Thebes, an elite band of 150 pairs of male lovers who fought together as ancient Greece's most feared millitary unit. They believed love and loyalty will give them the spirit to fight and fiercely protect each other. And fight they did, undefeated for decades until 338 BCE when they were finally overcome in battle of chaeronea at the hands of Philip II of Macadon and his son, none other than Alexander the great. Plutarch, centuries later notes how the Band fought bravely to the last man and were found lying together “in their armor, clasped in each other’s arms.” Till death do them part..A testament to how love and courage shaped queer history long before we coined the word 'queer'.

Moustached child ran so fast, time passed, now lady captures the past with her beautiful art. (My attempt at a Haiku. Hope it's not too bad.) Great art as usual.
Gee where'd the time go.. My Dad cosplays were way more convincing than the Mom ones (i'm told i look just like my father sans the moustache).. And somehow still trying to be just like you, gaffer.

Time and tide waits for no one… but apparently does pause for existential dread at night :-)

May we learn from their courage and resolve. Sometimes returning to our roots can show us the path ahead. Great artwork with a very important message!

On #WorldEnvironmentDay, I return to my roots, quite literally. The Chipko resistance (1973), a grassroots movement led by Vimala Bahuguna and her husband, saw women cling fiercely to trees to protect them from rampant logging. Evidently, It was the women, deeply in touch with the forest through their daily lives of gathering firewood, fodder, and water, who were the first to rise against commercial deforestation. Bahuguna, being a Gandhian activist, infused the spirit of feminism and civil disobedience in the movement. Waves of women and young girls ran to encircle trees, arms linked in steely defiance, turning the act of hugging into a symbol of protection and protest. The movement began in my ancestral homeland of Chamoli, and I can vouch for the women-led ethos of the himalayan range to this day. Every time I see those old sepia-toned photos, I can't help seeing my grandmothers—the same folds in their sarees, the same strength in their eyes.

The name’s Pulcher. Cherax Pulcher. Not here to play — here to slay with style. Great watercolor btw :-)

Character design for a crayfish based on the species "Cherax Pulcher" i.e. crayfish beautiful.
With that explosively colored carapace, I expect this cray crayfish to be up to no good and say stuff like, "I made this pearl necklace out of my friend *evil laughter*"

Great work as usual. Watercolor and a haiku made me think of Yosa Buson. Someone goes by wearing a hood in his own darkness not seeing the harvest moon - Yosa Buson
A haiku for a relatable little crustacean. (If it was my patronus, I'd be the one doing the shielding)

Suddenly I realize, Never mind where's paradise, Hope is always by your side, Paradise is where love lives. - Lost and Found (1996) Great artwork ! I enjoyed the movie. The number 96 seems to be recurring lately. I recently watched a movie named 96.

Favourite scene from a favourite movie ❤️

Simple but beautiful: Wabi-sabi (侘び寂び) The dichotomy between non-AI, pen-on-paper art and AI art reminds me of a short story "On Exactitude in Science" by Jorge Luis Borges. I am sure that the AI driven proliferation of emotionless imitations will make real human ingenuity and creativity even more invaluable.

My non-AI, pen-on-paper, Ghibli style rendition of the man himself. Is the art scrappy? Yes. But is it an insult to life itself? I don't think so.
If you see this, consider yourself nominated to #drawtheline. Show your scrappiest ghibli style art, tag me and nominate others; keep this counter-ai art movement going!

When despair for the world grows in me, and I wake in the night at the least sound… I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief... For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free "The Peace of Wild Things" – Wendell Berry #DogGovernment PS: The shading, soft tones and minimalist style really go well together.

I never abided by the phrase "going to the dogs"; dogs are far too good for this world..
