I was asked for my spicy microanalying take on this fun clip, so here it is! This is from 2016, it's one of the HYYH Epilogue concerts. Its not from the one they released on DVD, so this is a fancam! I can't find the original clip though (if anyone does, let me know, I just KNOW there's more to see here)

Let's work with what we have:

the clip starts with Hobi giving JK a really funny eyebrow wiggle and wink, JK is naturally delighted with the attention

Jimin decides to insert himself between them (I mean who wouldn't want to be the filling in a Hoseok/Jungkook sandwich, can you blame him?!) . You'll note even though he reaches for Hobi as well he doesn't make eye contact with him AT ALL. Mischievous as always.

Jimin pulls them both towards himself, and then hooks an arm around JK's neck. It's a delightful multipurpose gesture, a little bit of a chokehold, a little bit "let's get reaaaaly close to kissing distance of Jk's neck", all nicely covered by him using his mic to shout at ARMY.

JK, good boy, has his hands behind his back and freezes in position to let Jimin do whatever the heck he wants. As usual. The carefully frozen smile he puts on while Jimin is teasing the heck out of him is well maintained.

Hobi decides enough is enough, and with Jimin still refusing to make eye contact with him (Hobi doesn't give Jimin the satisfaction of trying to look him in the eyes, either), simply scoops Jimin up. (Hobi is STRONG!).

Finally Jimin looks at Hobi, and they share a grin. Jimin does love when one of the others uses their strength on him, he adores being picked up, so he's more than happy to reward hobi with a smile and a sharp tilt of his head back, giving his heck to hobi, but not in a subby way, in his usual bratty dom fashion . I'm sure the added bonus of this being a little bit destabilizing so that Hobi has to grip him a bit tighter and manhandle him a bit more to retain balance is entirely intentional. -Hobi tilts Jimin so the Jibooty is nicely exposed and gives JK a look - JK is already there with hand poised waiting for Hobi to give the go ahead, and as soon as he gets it, he's in to deliver a smack.

Of course Jimin isn't going to let that go unchallenged, so Hobi immediately drops Jimin, but JK, who knows that discretion is the better part of valour is already making his escape across stage.. As usual, 3J really enjoy the ebb and flow of the power dynamics between them and everyone is having a wonderful time here.

I'm sad, you're sad, lets distract ourselves with a totally deranged "BTS is a Kinky Polycule and we have the footage to prove it" analysis of this absolute TOP TIER piece of vintage fanservice. There's a lot of fun power dynamic stuff going on here. This game was OFFICIALLY called "tension escalator" and it happened at a japan fanmeet in (i think?) 2016/2017 by the looks of the hair? lets have some highlights from this fanservice MASTERPIECE.

Jimin suggests they do it in age order, basically setting JK up from the beginning. He is mischief personified. Watching JK get more and more panicked as he realizes he is meant to show the most "escalated" version of what's going on is a whole trip just by itself, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Jin starts out at 100% with an absolutely SEARING look and wicked smile at Yoongi - he is not even bracing against an actual wall here, just miming, but yoongi is still frozen like a deer in the headlights (who could blame him). Yoongi really struggles to maintain eye contact here, Jin has his squirming from the get go. You'll notice that Jin keeps his distance though - he uses his "braced" arm to keep distance, and it's all in the look. I feel like he's delivering while still being very respectful of yoongi's comfort levels. He perfectly calibrated what he could get away with that was within boundaries for his target in that setting. Top tier Dom behaviour here.

The host assures Yoongi that he doesn't have to copy Jin, but he does exactly that - but you can see how while his hand movement is fast and aggressive ("manly!" as instructed) he doesn't actually cage RM in at all - his body is angled away from RM. They also don't make a lot of eye contact, and he doesn't close distance at all. RM knows he can mess with Hobi, so he goes for it - but his instinct is to reach out a warning hand first - that very sweet and tender stroke down hobi's shoulder, a check in before he engages, it's so him. He then cuddles right into Hobi who hams it up beautifully with blushing - you'll notice that in Hobi's "pearl clutching" hand coming up to his own chest, hobi takes control of the distance here, essentially stopping RM from coming closer - taking his gaze from RM out to the audience to really play it up. The crowd loves it, and it draws attention from RM, letting RM play the "manly" role, Hobi's feminine-coded pantomime making RM seem even MORE manly in comparison. This is Hobi totally taking control of the interaction, making RM look good in a generous way AND creating something really fun to watch. Elegantly done, as you'd expect.

Then we get to watch the way Hobi's whole demeanor changes in an instant, as he goes from "blushing damsel" to the predator role - (its not even directed at JK but the camera catches him having a whole-body reaction to Hobi's "dom look" - FUN!) Hobi beckons Jimin closer, points to exactly where he wants Jimin to stand. Jimin hits the spot and even puts his hands behind his back, basically submitting to Hobi's whims here - and Hobi knows Jimin can handle whatever, so he goes for it - You'll notice that while Jimin lets Hobi pull him into a dip, his posture stays quite rigid. He doesn't go boneless or submit to the hold - he allows it, with a smile, but he maintains his own resistant tension - can't make it too easy for Hobi, after all! You'll also note that Hobi doesn't push it, allowing Jimin to keep that control - hobi always courteous to another dom, even one lower in him in hierarchical terms. You can see that Jimin is largely unbothered and already thinking about what he's going to do to Tae by the time they finish their turn. Jimin.. is, as usual, a man with a PLAN. He carefully moves JK out of the line of fire, and winds himself up with some aggressive air punches. He then just goes ahead and manhandles the heck out of Tae, showing absolutely NO mercy and none of the restraint the other doms did.. this is just classic vmin escalation right here. It's not till Jin calls out that it's enough that Jimin backs off (instantly!) The damage has been done though, Jimin's pushed tae so far down into subspace by being aggressive Tae has to really struggle to flip the switch and wilfully shake himself back into dom mode in front of a whole audience.. even then one doe-eyed look from Jungkook and he didn't have the heart to monster him! With Tae well shaken, and JK in full panic mode by this stage.. its no surprise that they flub their part of it, adorably.. Tae does give JK a good dose of those famous bedroom eyes though (at least in their nascent form - he's only gotten more lethal with age, our Tae) There's also a really cute swing back to RM having a whole shy/flustered moment - JK's panic and shyness is catching! I love that Tae is actually able to muster it up after Jimin counts him in. JK is then told to direct HIS "tension" at the audience - he's just terrified in the most adorable way and has no idea what to do. He eventually decides the lens is a safer option that staring out into the crowd, and undoes ONE WHOLE BUTTON - the way the rest of them encourage him and hoot is really really sweet. This is an absolute treat to watch from beginning to end :)

They do this in such an easy, practiced way, like it's something they have done a lot. They don't need to talk about it, they just do it.. I love how taehyung is dancing around them having a lovely time himself - this is just another day of very cosy vminkook shenanigans :)

It’s funny how you don’t realize just how much you miss something until you have it back, even if for a fleeting moment. Seeing BTS together again on stage was as exciting as it was bittersweet. Putting into words the emotions that filled my heart watching them perform as one for such a monumental event is proving to be quite difficult for me. This wasn’t just any regular concert for the boys, or even ARMY. It was a show for the public, for the world. The admission was free, anyone could watch it online, and it aired on Korean television. Despite the hiccups leading up to the show, the concert was a success, with high ratings and unimaginable numbers of online viewers. There was so much viewer traffic that the major platforms streaming the concert crashed, leaving millions of ARMYs and viewers to search for another source. The public perception has been positive, and the tremendous economic impact is being celebrated by the Busan locals. It truly is hard to describe the significance of this concert for BTS, for Busan, and for Korea. This will be a wondrous moment forever remembered by so many, far beyond the port city where it was held.

Many in Korea who aren’t ARMY were curious about BTS and what makes them so special, and the response has been amazing. Even for my own family who tuned in, their reactions were priceless. Apparently, one of my uncles was enchanted by Jin, and my grandmother said she now understands why I love Jimin so much. My sister’s oppa, who wasn’t a fan, decided to nab a ticket to the show, simply because he wanted to know what the hype was all about. He kept sending my sister videos and pictures, and he was in complete awe of what he was experiencing. By the end of the concert, he asked her, “Should I become ARMY?!” It was so cute how impressed he was, and how he thanked BTS for putting on such an incredible show. Needless to say, as an ARMY, it made me so happy!!

For BTS and ARMY, this was the show to finally close the first chapter of our story. We got to see the boys perform the songs that we all know and love, possibly for the last time. We were gifted “달려라 방탄 (Run BTS)” early, much to everyone’s excitement. The boys really gave that performance the proper due diligence that a song like that would require. It was very reminiscent of the classic backbreaking stages that put BTS in a class of their own. Witnessing Jimin and V wholly fall into an embrace at the end of the performance says it all.

It was easy to see that this concert meant a lot to the boys, and they didn’t want it to end. Each minute was cherished and not gone to waste. They went into this concert knowing that it will be the last concert with all of them together for the foreseeable future. Now we know that it won’t be until 2025 that BTS will finally take the stage again as a group. As much as it breaks my heart to know that it will feel like eternity before we get the boys as OT7, I trust that they will make us proud, and will come back to us stronger than ever!!

Even though we won’t be getting any new BTS music and performances for what seems like forever and a day, we still have so much to look forward to! Jin is releasing a single, and will no doubt bless us all with his silver voice and stunning WWH visuals. The other remaining members are working hard on their much awaited solos, which we know will be worth waiting for. I for one am absolutely beyond ready for all they have to offer, and I am excited to watch each one of them shine in their own light!!

This is a lovely insight into their dynamic, it's a great example of how people's kinks can line up beautifully. Jimin's strength kink, and his desire to be in control, to have others do things for him at his command... jungkook's desire to be useful/helpful/pleasing, he wants to show off his capabilities and be praised for it. It works for both of them. It's not about whether Jimin COULD do these things without Jungkook's help.. it's about Jimin alllowing Jungkook the opportunity to serve, and enjoying having Jungkook's service.

Todays “forever alone and full of despair about it”’ramblings:

I think people profoundly misunderstand what people mean when they say “stanning BTS/ being ARMY has ruined me for dating/other guys”

people (dudes) assume that we’re fixated on the fame, the money, the good looks.. and yes, they are undeniable positive attributes that bts have… but I think for most of us it’s not about that.

it’s their GOODNESS. They are sweet. Kind and gentle. Strong when they need to be. They’re smart and funny. They care about things. They’re loyal - to one another, to their fans. They radiate respect - for themselves, for one another, for the people around them. Again and again, they take the high road - they really strive to do what’s right, not just for them, but for everyone.

THATS THE STANDARD. That’s what is so hard to find out there. We don’t need super hot famous multimillionaire idols. We just need men in our lives who are GOOD.

if I was as bad at ANY other thing as I was at dating/relationships, I would have quit by now. If it didn’t profoundly impact my desire to keep living.. I would have stopped trying. I hurt myself, I allow others to hurt me over and over.

and this too is part of it - because if it’s one thing bts have taught us it’s that love is worth it. It’s worth the searching and the trying, the lies, betrayals and disappointments.. they love so fiercely and they create art so beautiful it will outlive us all.

they keep striving, so I will too. No matter the cost.

OKAY let's talk for a moment about one of the tell-tale signs of a Dom.. THE DOM NOD. This is hard to explain but... like so many things of this nature, you know it when you see it. People who lean Dom, sometimes do this thing where they nod UPWARDS. They're nodding, but the emphasis is on the upward movement rather than the downward movement. Its in the facial expression too. Its easier to show than explain. Jin does it a lot, you'll notice that when he is doing this particular expression that even as his head is in a downward motion, his eyebrows are going up - it makes it visually more of of an upward than downward motion, it tricks the brain, like an optical illusion. you'll often see people posting clips of them doing this being all WHY IS HE SO SEXY OMG WHY IS THIS HOT. It can seem really attractive to some people because its a microexpression that evokes the feeling of them looking down at you, regardless of angle.
