Do you enjoy being in your dragon form?

❛❛ YES AND  …  NO  .  when i’m in that form  ,  i lose a bit of myself  .  as if i’ve forgotten everything that makes me  …  human  .  but i feel so free and when i’m flying  ,  i’ve never felt happier  .  i’ll be consumed by the sensations and wonder  ,  that i lose time  .  there could be weeks where i don’t change back  .  so i’m careful to call upon it  .  unless absolutely needed  . ❜❜

A           TRAVELERS           RESPITE           WAS          ANOTHER            NAME             FOR              A            LURE            OF             UNKINDERED            SPIRITS     ,           he     mingled     with     them     as     if     it     were     home         ,         a     hunter     would     often     watch     its     prey     after     all         ,         and     EXTORTION     was     his     crime         .             Drinks     spilled     across     wood     floors     and     coin     purses     heaving     with     benefits     for     drunken     gambling         .             he     had     dealt     cards     and     spotted     horns     above     crowds     of     misfits         . 

‘             you     joining         ?             i     can     deal     you     a     hand         ,         but     we’re     playing     high     stakes         .             ’ 

WHIST SNICKER AND SHAKE OF HER HEAD  ,  declining the offer  ,  but content to watch as era’s never played such a game  -  interested in learning though but only through careful observation as her stakes are meager and she’d never be able to keep up with the risk with such paltry gain  .

“...Can I?”

THERE’S A PREGNANT PAUSE  ;  blinking mulishly  ,  evidence of confusion as mouth moves to form question but no sound follows  .  not that eramora is so blind to attraction and the little affections they share in passing moments of reticent leisure  .  but she’s not quite sure how to respond  .  surely the inquisitor would have better people to kiss than she         a no one from far off lands  ,  disgustingly unhuman         brazenly different  .  aware of how nobles with use their whirlwind romance to discreet kali’s standing and power  .  how her hard work and dedication would be quickly undermined by rumors and horrendous hearsay  .  

there’s an urge to pull away         not because she wants to  ...  gods  ,  does she want to but the underlying insecurities  ;  plaguing desire simply overrun by fear  .  hands rise  ,  defensive  ,  rising before chest which heaves  .  with reddening cheeks  ,  gaze averts  ,  pointed ears rising as scaled brow does  .       ❛❛ you intend to kiss me  ,  my lady  ?  surely you’d be better off kissing someone more appealing than i  .  though i’m  ...  not opposed to kissing you  .  i very much want to  ;  i just        ❜❜

there’s no time to continue prattling on  .  as soft lips press to her own  ,  gentle and careful  ,  scared as if eramora would run  ,  like a wild  ,  skittish rabbit  .  eyes widen just for a moment  ,  soft noise resonates in the back of her throat  .  it takes a moment before era relaxes  ,  lowering her hands and pushing back into the kiss  .  fluttering lids closing and reveling in the embrace  .  something she’d though impossible for someone such as herself  .  hands thread through curls  ,  careful and cautious to not lose herself completely in the moment  .  

hands reach for kali’s capable shoulders  ,  pushing back  ,  with pupils blown wide  .  sure  ,  she’s kissed before but never was there such a  ...  amalgamation of emotion  .

    there is perhaps a dusting of pink on her cheeks as she took eramora’s hand, but kali is more than happy to link arms and lead the way to the gardens. they go down the steps, calls of the occasional raven the only other noise. “ it is a shame still, “ she spoke softly. the door into the throne room was pushed open, noise growing as visiting dignitaries chatter could be heard. a few glanced in their direction, some whispers growing, but kali paid them no mind.     she knew the way to the gardens well, often the place she could be found. more than often she had auto-piloted and ended up in the gardens when she meant to go somewhere else. there was a visible change in her the moment her feet touched the grass, some tension had lifted.         “ you familiar with plants at all? “

SOFT HUM RESONATES WITHIN HER CHEST  ;  response quiet with no words to follow just yet  .  the answer a little more complicated than a simple yes or no  .  here  ,  in the lands of thedas  ,  the plants are much more different from that of her very own homeland  .  where their properties are similar but she’s yet to completely study their uses and many abilities  .  but despite the ignorance  ,  eramora still enjoys the garden when given the chance  .  when she’s not training or meditating         or annoying the residence of skyhold         the garden calls  ,  promising undisturbed peace among the bushes and blooms  .

❛❛ familiar  ,  yes  .  i’ve been studying  .  i practiced a bit of herbal medicine back home  .  but our plants are  ...  very different  .  so i’m not quite sure how to implement these plants in salves or brews  .  maybe once i’ve learned enough  .  but i can’t say i’m an expert by any means of the word  .  here  ,  i am simply a novice  . ❜❜

smile tugs at the corner of plush lips  ,  pulling over sharpened teeth  .  it’s so obvious how the inquisitor comes alive in the presence of greenery  ;  surrounded by their familiarity  ,  eramora wonders if they remind kali of her life among her people  .  when such insurmountable responsibility did not weight upon her small shoulders  .  she feels sympathetic  ,  squeezing kali’s hand before allowing her space now they’ve enter the green haven  .
