Tanging Yaman
The movie Tanging Yaman is a story of how the family members love each other even though they are having a dispute. I felt slightly angry at the father who didn’t support his son’s dream to become a photographer because my mother is like that too. She always tell me that “storya raka taman” which is very sad since I thought she will support me. But just like in the movie, we should trust in God, which I did. In the last part of the movie, they forgave and continue to love each other so I should forgive and continue to love my mother because she is one of my ‘Tanging Yaman’.

Unconditional Love
The video that touched me the most is the video about the grandparents. I shed a tear as I watched the video because I miss my grandmother who is very kind and generous to the point that even if she is in deep poverty, she will still give us anything we want. I can still remember when we go to church, she would always give me a snowbear candy and she always smile even if she doesn't have teeth anymore but I find it cute. My other grandmother is also very thoughful and generous, she always give us foods and I feel so sad for her because it seems like my cousins doesn't appreciate her and only took her for granted but I can't do anything about it since who am I to reprimand them about that. I just hope they won't regret doing that to her someday.

Today, I felt really envious to those who are eligible of taking scholarships. I badly want to apply to help my parents in paying my tuition next school year but dijud ko pwede maka take kay gakasabit jud kos sweldo ni papa. I felt really down and I wanna cry my heart out because I know how expensive my desired course which is med-tech pero basin sign nani ni God na med-tech is not for me but unsa lugar akong e pursue na course if not med-tech? I also really envy those people nga sure najud sa ilang kuhaon sa college tas supportado pajud sa ilang parents, SANA ALL nalang jud akong maingun. I don't know, I'm lost jud. But I trust God na kung unsay kurso nga akong malagputan, makapalipay japun sa akoa but mas malipay jud ko if sa akong gusto nga kurso ko mapadulong.
Soo that ends my drama for today haha. Ciao~

HAPPINESS
What is happiness? What makes you happy?
If I were to define happiness, happiness is when you are free from stress and worries of life. Well, happiness is a broad topic so I can't really give its definite meaning. What makes me happy is when I achieve things that I thought was impossible to achieve. Also, seeing my parents happy will also makes me happy. But I am scared of getting too happy because whenever I felt too happy, sadness will takeover and I already felt that many times. Am I happy right now? No. I'm stressed and felt like I am lost. I am not what I am before and I hate these changes and I had a misunderstanding with my favorite person so it makes me more unhappy. But I must not dwell on that since I can't change what has already happened. I should be strong and not let it really affect my life and I should do things that will make myself happy again.
Happiness comes from our own actions so do whatever makes you happy.

Is it possible to combine the capabilities of our two brain hemisphere? It could be. Combining their capabilities would help us to perceive things in a much higher level.
My take away for this day is that we should honor and cherish the gift that God gave to us which is our brain. We should use it for good and that it can benefit us and other people.

A positive stress for me is that when I am learning or trying something new like playing a new game or whenever I try playing a new instrument. While negative stress for me is academic pressure which I am really having a hard time handling with since I am a procrastinator.
My take away for this day is that we need to experience how is it to be stressed and that we should know how to handle our stress in order for us to grow and move forward. Let us not let our stress to consume us. Let us all strive for inner peace 🕊️

Acceptance is the key
My takeaway for this lesson is that we need to accept things that already happened in our lives and move forward because certain things will never go back to how they are used to be no matter what we do and in order to be happy and to be truly free.

As I listened to the song Forgiveness by Matthew West, it really hit something within me and made me remember what happened years ago. I had a friend before that did something wrong to me and that lead me to question my existence in that time. It really pains me to the point that I said to myself that I would never forgive that person. Negativity corrupts my mind in that time and that makes me want to do something bad but something, maybe my conscience, prevents me from doing it. As time passed by, I realized that I've been living with hatred in my heart all this time and slowly, I started forgiving that person and the day finally came that I completely forgave that person even though that person didn't asked for my forgiveness and coincidently, I saw a post in facebook that says that forgiving someone is not easy but it can make you feel free and I really did felt free. It feels like I'm a whole new person.
My takeaway for this day is that if you based your forgiveness on human capacity and nature, there is no genuine forgiveness. But if forgiveness is based on God's example when He forgave us despite of our sinfulness, then one can easily forgive. Also, as a believer, God commanded us to give infinite forgiveness and to love one another.

My takeaway for today is that God created us equally so there's no need to be jealous of what others have. We should be ourselves and learn how to love ourselves first.

The Good and the Bad: How Social Media Affected Me as a Gen Z Individual
Due to the rapid development of technology, we can see individuals that are using social media everywhere, may it be in the streets or inside a vehicle. As a generation Z individual, social media have a great impact of our lives. Facebook is one of the most popular social media platform where we can interact, play, watch videos, and share information to other people. We treat social media as part of our lives since it made us possible to communicate with our friends and other people and to share and acquire various information. Social media help us to improve our communication skills by interacting with other users across the globe and help us be updated about the happenings in our lives. It can also help us to think critically about getting various information for our research papers and can motivate us that we can accomplish great things in our lives. In this situation that we are in and as a student, social media enables us to form study groups and to share notes with our classmates virtually.
Although social media can benefit us, we can’t deny that it can also bring negative effects to us. It can cause misunderstandings due to false information that is being spread throughout social media. It’s not just the Corona Virus that is rapidly spreading in this time, but also false information that sometimes, we unconsciously shared it to our friends. Spending too much on social media can cause unhealthy sleeping patterns and blurry eyesight. Social media causes us to make unrealistic beauty standards that makes us use applications that can hide our flaws. Spending time on using social media can affect our relationship with our family because instead that we will talk with them in person, our attention is on our phone browsing through our newsfeed. However, we cannot really blame social media for this, we should blame ourselves too for not having self-control in using social media and not having enough discipline for ourselves.

The Setbacks of Piracy
Piracy is defined by the dictionary as a practice of a pirate; robbery or illegal violence at sea. The unauthorized reproduction or use of a copyrighted book, recording, television program, patented invention, trademarked product, etc. Recording companies are mostly the victims of this crime. The law against piracy in the Philippines is not strong enough and has a lot of loopholes. The law only covered if the stolen data is stored in physical storage like CDs or DVDs, flash drive, and cassette tapes. If happens that someone shares a link in the Facebook authority can't do anything to it because it is on the internet unless it is uploaded in physical storage. That is why a lot of people doing piracy because the law is not strong enough to stop them from doing it. Also since pirated products cost nothing a lot of people are so engrossed in doing it and selling it to others.
As much as there is a lot of advantages of piracy like, costless, easy to acquire, anonymity, and profit, there are also a lot of disadvantages coming from it. First, it is illegal and if happens that you've been captive you are punishable by Php 200,000 to Php 500, 000 and 20 years in prison this is under cybercrime law. Second, it is risky most pirated software has serious computer viruses that can damage the user's computer system. Lastly, it discourages the recording companies, because their income would be affected, also the element of surprise brought by the product would be ruined. There is a lot of things we could do to stop this illegal activity, first don’t buy pirated products, because by doing so you are encouraging those people to keep doing the illegal activity. Do not pirate anything, any changes should come first from ourselves. Voice out, if you witness someone doing this activity stop them from doing it or report them to the authority. Although government and business companies play an important role in preventing software piracy, it is still up to the user to decide for himself whether he will do piracy or not.

Bridging the Digital Divide
Due to the occurrence of pandemic, face to face classes are now being suspended. The classes are now being held virtually by the help of the internet and electronic devices and because of that, digital divide among students could happen. There are students that have a stable internet connection and have devices that enable them to actively participate in their virtual classes while there are also students that is the total opposite of them which means that they don’t have stable internet access, they only use data connection in their cellular phones, and some students does not have any internet access and does not have any devices that enable them to participate in their virtual classes. Digital divide amidst this pandemic have made a huge gap between the students who have stable internet connection and have devices to access their online classes and those students that are opposite to them.
Competition is not important in this situation that we are in. We should help each other to proceed to the next level. Internet and technical problems are inevitable among students and even teachers. As a student, bridging the gap among digital divide can be acquired through understanding each other situations and helping each other even if it is just by giving them a small amount of load balance and by notifying them what they need to do and pass in that particular subject. The school can help to bridge the gap among digital divide by providing their students with a load so that they can access their class with the help of data connection in their cellular phone. We should always remember that we enrolled in this school together so we should help each other in every circumstances in order to leave together which means that there is no one that will be left behind.

Significance of Print, Broadcast and New Media
Evolution of media has been very useful for advancing society, especially news that has been going on around us. Without media we are clueless of our surrounding, or even our entire global, there are different types of media in every ages, and every country, some are in government control and some are journalists that genuinely helps the citizens to deliver quality and real information. In different age of types of media we have Print media (1440), produced information source has been popular then like Books, some are even stored in one place called Library and also Daily Newspapers and Magazines. These Print media has been usefull ever since the invention of Gutenberg's Printing Press (1440). This has been the main source of information back then, and even now it still being produced, though it has a lower demand because there's a new type of media after the Print media and it is the Broadcast media.
Broadcast media has evolved leap in the 20th century because broadcast media does not rely on physical prduction and distribution to the citizens, that is also because they are delivered "on air" means they are transmitted through signal to the electronic at home and these electronics are Radio and Television. This type of media has been the main source of information since the early 20th century, from Daily news, Sports, Advertisements and more. But in advanced age there is the New media. Also known as the Social media, Advance media is the latest source of information in this era, it is not the best because New media is so vast that false informations spreads. The existence these media has a very significant affect to the citizens. They interrelate because they deliver quality and important informations to our citizens that are hungry of informations and those who seek it and the cons are they can be controlled easily by an organization or institution.

Replacing Traditional Media with New Media
Traditional media have been with us for many years, decades to be exact. Traditional media helps organizations to promote on an expansive objective through billboards, print media, TV advertisements or commercials, and more. Print media was one of the types of traditional media and one of the earliest form of media, it uses papers and the information are printed on it, newspapers, flyers, magazines, newsletters, scholarly journals, and books are some of the examples of print media. The first invention that helped the development of traditional media was Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press in year 1440. Broadcasting media is also one of the types of traditional media, it began in the early 1900s and uses radio transmitters that allows information to travel from one distance to another. Print and broadcasting media are popular in the old days but as technology are rapidly advancing, its popularity slowly diminished. With the advent of technologies, new media became the new hype, especially with our generation. New media relies on the Internet and technology, YouTube, Facebook, Google, Twitter, and anything that involves on the use of Internet is an example of the new media. It is accessible with the use of devices such as laptops, personal computers, cellular phones, tablets, smart televisions, and etc.
New media is apparently theorized to eventually replace print and broadcast media. Surely, there are outcomes if the traditional media, like print and broadcast media, are replaced by new media that can affect us. In today’s generation, technology are rapidly advancing which means that new media is constantly changing and developing too. Over the last few years, broadcasting media was limited to channels such as ABS-CBN, GMA, and Tv5 but because of the technology is advancing, we can now access those channels with the use of the Internet. One of the outcomes if the new media will replace print media and broadcast media is that the information found through the new media will be less credible because people often post trolls, false information, fabricated contents that seems legit but is not. Another outcome is the medium of information is diversified because information can be spread through various new media platforms. It is not possible in this time that the print and broadcast media will be replaced with new media because not all people have access to the internet and have devices. But who knows? We don’t know what will happen in the future.

Media and Government: A Love-Hate Relationship

Control and power are immensely desired by people, especially the media and the government. They join forces most of the time, but they also look for each other's flaws when they get the chance. Media and government are both essential to build a healthy society, but there are times when they try to manipulate people's minds to get what they want, and that's when misinformation comes in. The government, for example, they use media to make their image clean and beautiful in the sight of the netizen so that when there's an election, they will get good feedback and will earn votes. The media, on the other hand, use the government for a nice scoop or story that might get people's interest. They can also receive bribes from government officials to help them create a positive reputation for the people to believe or to cover their wrong deeds. They also look for each other's transgression to ruin the other that will drive them to victory and control over the people. They are using each other in both good and bad ways that will benefit them.
In this love-hate relationship they have, will it be of help to the people they're surrounding? People tend to believe what they see and hear, but what if all of it was just lies, beautiful lies to deceive people? We should know what to accept and what to reject. The people they are surrounding are the most significant factor for their success, so it's only natural for them to use, deceive, and manipulate them to get what they want. Everything will be better only if they use each other for the benefit of the people, but they're not. The issues we hear around us, some of it are fabricated, made up, and covered. We can't always rely on our government and media. We should have the ability to look for what is accurate, ourselves, and of course, share the information we know is reliable. Let's stop being ignorant and vulnerable. This love-hate relationship the media and the government have is simply a reminder that information isn't always trustworthy. The only thing we can do is to be knowledgeable and wise for our good.
