Reflection and analysis
I have realized that Barangay San Roque is one of the most hazardous place that I could ever be. Whenever one of the major catastrophy or disaster will be encountered, all of San Roque would be wiped out or will fall on itself.
Despite this situation, people here in this barangay are very well prepared, years in advanced and are very well capable of assessing, maintaining, and control of the situation when it comes to different disaster that they will face.
I as a part of this society, I can make myself useful in this barangay by helping others that are in need when an unfortunate event happens and also keep my family safe and knowledgeable about the things to remember when disaster strikes.
For the barangay staff, officers and other volunteers, I am 100% sure that they can really help the people towards safety because they are experienced enough through real life situations of calamities and disasters.
I hope for the betterment and further improvement of our barangay in terms of better technology and all of Navotas city towards greater future.

This streets, based on my experience, are the places that always have flood whenever there is a moderate to strong rain fall. In line with this, the said roads are already under construction. Bit by bit, the drainage along this streets will soon be widened in hopes to resolve the flooding problem.

Photo: Interview with Enrico P Gino-Gino and Outside of the Barangay Hall
This is my interview with the Barangay Captain Enrico Gino-Gino.
I have asked him a series of questions about the safety of the people around barangay, the risks and precautions taken in consideration of the barangay and the overall actions that they have in plan in case of emergency.
The barangay uses a special application in which all barangays will have when it comes to disasters of any kind. In here also they know the compositions of the land (color-coded according to type of land), where is the safest place when it comes to disasters and the most hazardous place. This app also shows the territory of each barangay.
He said that San Roque is under a soil that has water under and within it or liquification. This means that whenever there would be an 8.0 magnitude earthquake, the whole barangay would submerge. Furthermore, in case of a tsunami, when the wave reaches up to or more than 10 feet, The whole barangay will be wiped out along with the whole city and its nearby cities such as malabon and valenzuela. It is also said that when a calamity such as this happens, all citizens will be evacuated through the shipyards in the rivers of san roque and daanghari wherein they will be evacuated away from navotas. The said evacuation plan will only be applicable for those who may survive the disaster since the roads of Navotas is cramped up and there were only two roads to go outside the city and other way is through a river so the people will not have anywhere to go.
In other types of lesser magnitude of disaster such as fire and typhoon, the barangay is well equipped to control this disaster. As citizen living in Navotas, we are well aware of the flood that comes even though the rain is not that much strong. So the barangay gives free rides through amphibians and trucks when there is high floods. In case of fire, there are plenty of fire trucks in stand by ready to go when there is a reported fire. He said that most of the disasters faced by our barangay is fire and water.
The most affected people in the barangay would the people with small houses and made out of light materials.

Navotas City is the fishing capital because almost all of the fishes that is being caught in the country is brought here. Fishes from Bataan, Palawan, Manila bay, Corrigidor, and etc.
Being surrounded by bodies of water poses a threat of natural disasters, some of which are typhoons, high tides, floods, and tsunamis.
