New Order; Bizarre Love Triangle

Claytonia Sibirica - “candy flower” - taken at Mohawk Research Natural Area (RNA).

The name makes it seem like the flower is sweet, but the name came from the stripe pattern on the petals. Even though it is edible it does not have much of a taste.

Neottia Cordata - “Heart Leaved Twayblade”. Taken at the Mohawk Research Natural Area (RNA), while doing quadrats.

You can tell it’s in the orchid family by the lower lip. Even though twayblade are so tiny, using a camera lens’s allows you to see the pronounced lower petal.
