We as a society need to see that the “opposites attract” idea is not good for longterm romance. Love is not a simple thing, it requires communication and work. Similarities are necessary to harmonize and love is a delicate song

Compassion is not her weakness

Rapunzel is such an important character because she never compromised her morals. While Zhan Tiri did say that her compassion was her weakness, she never internalized that and stopped being compassionate to be “stronger”. Her continued optimism for Cassandra’s return, despite sometimes being incessant and repetitive, showed a devotion to her friendship that is so in character. She sees the good in people in when they can’t see it themselves, and she saved Corona through the compassion she had given. 

A character who fights tirelessly for love, all kinds of love: romantic, platonic, familial, etc, and never gives up? That’s a necessary character in media.

Eugene and Rapunzel are the best couple who work through their differences and compliment each other. They are also both queer as hell.
