❛ well, it sounds like we should be erring on the side of caution. ❜
❛  there is no need ... ❜ she offers placation only in   verbal response, the words forming and leaving her vocals, yet her eyes remaining trained on the cityscape as it lay beyond the roof of the building. doused in sunset’s veil, the city looked as if it were aflame. colors shifting and melding together. ava was taking her time processing every detail, almost as if committing it to memory for the last time.
only it wasn’t, and nor would it ever be.
the other man was likely just an apprehensive party          one ava was not quite anticipating; but was not concerned by. after a solid moment, she turned, slowly        the quiet whir of internal machinations solely audible to her.
Tumblr media
sepia eyes shifted to locate the man, assessing him now that her attention had been diverted. ava remained unreadable in expression, the only indication of acknowledgment being the not quite complete smile that she offered.  ❛           i was only observing.   ❜

TO  THE  SOUTH ,  rising above the palm trees, Grant saw a single trunk with no leaves at all, just a big, curving stump. Then the stump moved, and twisted around to face the new arrivals. Grant realized that he was not seeing a tree at all. He was looking at the graceful, curving neck of an enormous creature, rising fifty feet into the air.  He was looking at a dinosaur.

“ it’s going to take you a while to adjust to civilian life.”
“ nothing happens to me.”
“ get a cab.”
“ i never get cabs.”
“ is there any chance that these are murders?”
“ is this the work of a serial killer?”
“ we are all as safe as we want to be.”
“ you’re making us look like idiots.”
“ what happened?”
“ i got shot.”
“ come on, who’d want me for a flatmate?”
“ so, bad day, was it?”
“ you’re wearing lipstick. you weren’t wearing lipstick before.”
“ sorry, you were saying?”
“ i was wondering if you’d like to have coffee?”
“ bit different from my day.”
“ can i borrow your phone? there’s no signal on mine.”
“ what happened to the lipstick?”
“ really? i thought it was a big improvement.”
“ your mouth is too small now.”
“ how do you feel about the ___?”
“ sometimes i don’t talk for days on end.”

“ who cares about decent? the game is on!”
“ ok, you’ve got questions.”
“ where are we going?”

(     *     MINDHUNTER PROMPTS   !
episode 8.
❛  we need to prepare them for the world, yes. but we also need to protect them from it.  ❜
❛  can we stop these people from becoming disturbing in the first place?  ❜
❛  so what happened to your car?  ❜
❛  i don’t think i can not give you grief.  ❜
❛  why is it so hard to stay mad at you?  ❜
❛  when did you get so fragile?  ❜
❛  women like men to pay attention to ‘em.  ❜
❛  i’m not saying i’m an angel.  ❜
❛  you’d have to think about it pretty hard to go through with it. you’d have to be driven.  ❜
❛  i guess… we all have fantasies, don’t we?  ❜
❛  what was your first fantasy?  ❜
❛  do you still have fantasies?  ❜
❛  good and evil, right and wrong? are these concepts you believe in?  ❜
❛  the world is complex, i get that. i can check my judgment at the door.  ❜
❛  i don’t want a witch hunt. i’m not vindictive.  ❜
❛  i came away with the strangest feeling.  ❜
❛  you didn’t know what the hell you were doing that day. you still don’t.  ❜
❛  i am telling you this for your own good.  ❜
❛  we all have to choose between trust and fear.  ❜
❛  did we do the right thing?  ❜
❛  what are you reading?  ❜
❛  it could help with your homework to describe what you’re learning.  ❜
❛  we tailor ourselves to fit the parts that we’re playing.  ❜
❛  you know, i once tried not smiling for a day, and it was really weird.  ❜
❛  we’re not talking about my clothes again.  ❜
❛  what would you wear if no one were looking?  ❜
❛  i know the whole damn story.  ❜
❛  i had to follow my intuition.  ❜
❛  so now you know everything, is that it? now you’re a superman with x-ray vision?  ❜
❛  who are you, the fucking thought police?  ❜
❛  don’t know what you were thinking.  ❜
❛  to be honest, we’ve been going in circles.  ❜
❛  well, it sounds like we should be erring on the side of caution.  ❜

Get to know me •• Female Characters [1/10] Ava from Ex Machina
Where would you go if you did go outside?” “I’m not sure. There are so many options. Maybe a busy pedestrian and traffic intersection in a city.” […] “It wasn’t what I was expecting.” “A traffic intersection would provide a concentrated but shifting view of human life.”

dance floors aren’t my thing.
it was a mesmerizing display to be audience to .  social behavior always kindled ava’s interest, in tandem with the people involved in such.
                                                    people-watching.
fragments of lively conversation from the surrounding guests filtered through her receptors. an idle inspection of one such conversation was, before long, interrupted by an unprompted interjection. ava blinked once, before turning her head slightly in mild acknowledgment to the speaker. a tall, blonde man entered her line of sight.
it was a casual, seemingly impromptu comment. most likely initiated by their vincinal location to one another, coupled with the fact that they were both onlookers. vivid eyes focused on stark blue; examined every minute detail of the man’s expression, all with a noncommittal silence.
if this was an entry point for conversation, she would engage, if simply to learn.

The Film is definitely not supposed to be a cautionary tale about artificial intelligence (AI). The caution is all aimed at the humans in my point of view. My anxieties are about people not machines.  Alex Garland on his film, Ex Machina (2014)
