She premiered 30 years ago today.

Seems like at a time when queer lives and representation are under attack, we could be out here celebrating that this show existed at all and how it inspired everything that came after. Heroes like this are pretty thin right now.

Welcome to the SQ Kinktober 25 blog

As you might expect, this blog is fully dedicated to hosting the SwanQueen 2025 Kinktober event

Anyone can participate, fanfics, fanart, any length, any language are welcome as long as it complies to our (very few) rules

There are basically only four:

All work should include some version of the SwanQueen ship (can be Regina x Emma, Evil Queen x Dark Swan etc...). It doesn't have to be ONLY them, but they should of course be included.

No generative AI can be used

There is no hard limits on the topics you can explore through the prompts, BUT your work should be properly tagged before it can be added to the collection

BE NICE. Creators work hard on their works, so please don't leave them hate on their works. Don't like? Keep Scrolling.

For fanfics:

We created an AO3 collection you can freely add your work to (It's only moderated so we can make sure fics are properly tagged/avoid eventual spam) If anyone needs it, the organizers of this event do have some AO3 invites available, please don't hesitate to contact us if you want one. “I know,” Lou said again, pressing her face into Artie’s shoulder until her cheekbone ached. “Should we just pretend this all ain’t happening?”

“Maybe,” Artie said, weakly.

“Make plans for what we’re gonna do when we get back home? Should we plan a date? It’d be a pretty sorry one,” Lou said with a laugh that hurt coming out. “I been out of work for some time, as you know, and you church girls ain’t got any money. I’m sure we can find something to get up to for free.”

“Lou,” Artie said, her voice cracking.

“You can come see me in Hereafter. There ain’t much to do, but I don’t relish the idea of spending the night in a monastery,” Lou said. The thought was upsetting. Her already low opinion of Knife Church people– of church people in general– had plummeted since this whole saga began. “You can meet Oncore. That’s my horse. She might not go for you at first– she’s kind of particular– but I believe you could win her over. And you’ll like her. She’s got a big personality and the sweetest face you ever saw. When my arm gets better, maybe I could show you some tricks. I think you’ll be impressed. You ain’t even seen me ride, hardly, not really riding. But I’m real good.”

“Lou,” Artie said again, more forcefully.

“And once my arm’s really good again– back to normal-like– maybe then you’d wanna come watch me race?” Lou asked, sitting up off of her to look at her face. “We gotta train again, me and Oncore, but once I’m well again, the next race we’re in–”

“There’s not going to be a next race, Lou. I took that from you,” Artie said, shaking her head. “Your arm is fucked.”

Lou looked down at her arm. In its splint, it looked alright. You couldn’t see the weird, unnatural angles that had appeared in its shattering and poor healing. She held it to her chest. 

“I don’t have to win,” Lou said. Her stomach twisted in a painful stab of dread. “I can still race. Even if I know I ain’t got a shadow of a chance. It’s not all about winning.”

Artie looked back at her dubiously.

“Just pretend,” Lou urged. “We’re just pretending.”

Arts and Crafts by @cinnonym has been consuming my entire life lately, I’m not even kidding.

So of course I made a moodboard for it, it's what I do, it's who I am

I'm begging you, if you haven't read it, GO DO IT RNNNNN

It's got everything: tension, an obscene amount of yearning, some of the greatest prose I've ever seen, wood puns.... Do yourself a favor and fucking read it or reread it if you already did.

(Hopefully now that this moodboard is out of my system I can stop thinking about it at night..... probably won't tho.)
