BSD Rarepair Fest 2025: Free Day (2) 👠
I've always thought the RV TILT trend suited chuusano so I took the event as my chance to draw it ✨ Albeit with a slight variation on the pose to better fit their dynamics... 👀

Yuuko Au
Yuuko au is a canon divergence bsd au where chuuya accidentally obtains a child at age 14 due to the babies mother (who he was close too) dying making him the sole guardian. Yuuko is the name of said child and it's Basically a fan kid au? Except there's a lack of the fluff and good parenting you usually find in fankid aus.
Charecter information and further plot below cut 👇
Misacho
(all the art here is old so ignore the quality </3)
Misacho (not her real name) is an ex-teacher who was moved to Suribachi to work in a soup kitchen there somewhere around the time chuuya turned 10 years old , they met after she rescued him from bleeding out in the alleyway next to her workplace. Despite initially harbouring a LOT of distrust and general dislike for her chuuya eventually bonded with Misacho and they became good friends, with the sheep using the soup kitchen as a home base up until she was murdered.
You can find more stuff relating to her in the tags '#misacho' and '#misacho tag' on my blog.
Yuuko
(I dont have any good refrences of him rn lmao)
As mentioned earlier Yuuko is Chuuya's son in this au. He spent the first months of his life in Misacho's house on the outskirts of Suribachi before moving with chuuya after the events of bsd 15.
As a child he was very shy and only really came out of his shell around his dad and dazai (the flags died too soon for him to remember them well).
Yuuko was not aware of Chuuya's mafia career until age 16 when he and a school friend of his were both kidnapped by a group targeting the Port mafia. Despite Yuuko walking out of it unscathed thanks to chuuya his friend was killed. This incident heightened the tension between yuuko and his father leading to him moving out age 18.
(my only 22 yuuko drawing, its very old forgive me)
By 22 Yuuko is working as a police detective in Yokohama. He had a very black and white way of thinking and strongly resents Chuuya for his mafia ties, when hes not actively working on cases he spends his time gathering evidence to arrest his father.
Yuuko doesn't really have a tag of his own yet so I'll make him one later if I feel nice. Just like Misacho I'll update this post to include photos of him as soon as I finish drawing them 😔
Evermore out!!!!

yeah yeah Asagiri said Chuuya probably thought Dazai was dead after he left the PM and before they learned he was working at the ADA, but I'm more interested in Asagiri confirming that Dazai didn't know Chuuya was faking being a vampire in Meursault, it wasn't planned, he just never believed Chuuya could have been defeated and turned into one. And then he was right.

I wish there was a better cultural shorthand for enjoying a work for it's badness while also making it clear that it comes from a place of deep love, and a recognition of the self in the other. Consider the relationship one has to the art they made in middle school.
It's often poorly constructed, embarrassingly revealing, poorly aged, etc. You don't want to denigrate it, because it's good and necessary that amateurish art exist. But also sometimes it sucks in ways that are funny and genuinely charming.
For example, I love the Backrooms Wiki. It is clearly a bunch of early teenagers doing their own spin on the SCP format. It is objectively not well written, fails to understand what made the original greentext interesting, etc, because it is made by literal children experimenting with flash fiction for the first time. So many of its entries are The Evil Smiler Who Fucking Gets You. Which rules. I want the backrooms wiki kids to keep writing forever. I remember being at that point in my writing career! I hope these kids continue to write!
But sometimes I mention the backrooms wiki and people say "why are you hating on these kids?" and I struggle to explain that I am not hating, I genuinely love it. Sometimes it feels like people don't believe me! I feel like people have grown so used to kiwifarms behavior that an offhand expression of love for amateurish art is interpreted as malicious hazing. That makes me sad! I wish there were better words for this sort of thing.

How would Yuuko feel about Dazai? After all, Dazai left the Mafia and is trying to be better but his crimes all just kinda got swept under the rug and he never paid for them (Meursault not withstanding). If he has a black and white view, I don’t see him finding that acceptable. Especially since Dazai eagerly takes opportunities to still work with Chuuya.
Hes very conflicted with Dazai because he was really close to him his whole life. By the time Yuuko's 16 Dazai would have been out of the PM for around? 11 years (I'll check my maths in a minute), although he'll never consider all dazai's crimes acceptable in his mind dazai has moved on from that (unlike chuuya whos still actively working for the mafia). Dazai's turned a new page in Yuukos eyes so despite not forgiving any of his previous crimes he's way more willing to interact with Dazai than he is to interact with Chuuya
#this is all iirc#I did say yuuko's got a very black and white way of thinking but its important to note even THAT is very flawed#and a lot of his morals are bent around certain life events that happened#and his general views on good and bad are quite twisted#like hes got a Good vs evil view on things alot#but also he could be driven to murder#thanks for the ask!!!#sorry if this makes no sense#evemore answers#au asks#yuuko au#yuuko... TAG#yuuko tag#wow new tag guys#lucky him
