pls let it be a thing, I love this premise it sounds so cool. (but also I know from experience writing is exhausting so no pressure, ideas can just be ideas)
i am having the most delicious (vile) thoughts about Ford accidentally killing Stan when they reunite in the 80s, tries to bring him back to life and fails, and decides to try the only resurrection that he can reasonably perform.
So Stan wakes up, incredibly fuzzy on what happened. He remembers getting Ford's message, remembers parking his car and being cold and hungry and sick, but nothing else. And now he's staring at a ceiling, feeling...nothing. He feels nothing.
He bolts upright, gasping, trying to feel anything at all, like air in his lungs or a bed beneath his fingers, but there's nothing. He tries to scream. He doesn't have the vocal chords to do it with. He wildly looks around to see Ford frowning at him, standing by the table that he's currently lying on. He begins to speak into a small recorder that he holds in his palm.
"Attempt 14. Stan appears distressed. There seems to be an issue with the cognitive dissonance of biological functions. On the plus side, he's acting like he's alive. We'll need to tweak his cognitive functions, maybe bypass the physiological needs in his thinking. Commencing shutdown."
The world goes dark.
Ford returns to the computer that holds a program that McGucket helped him make, adding a line of code to the program, chewing on his lip in concentration. Once he perfects it, Stan won't even know that he's a machine. He can bypass those thoughts with a few changes to Stan's code.
As far as the vessel goes, McGucket is great at this sort of thing. He can manufacture a human body, or at least something that works like one. Any other blemishes can be written away in Stan's programming so that he doesn't realize that he isn't quite human.
Ford can do it. He can bring Stan back to life in every way that matters. He might be responsible for killing his brother, but he won't be the cause of Stan's death. Stan will live on, probably forever, exactly as Ford remembers him. He'll do it right this time. He'll be a better brother, now that he has this second chance.

My silly little queer game about lesbians getting involved in ancient feuds between old gods is finally launching! On the 24th!
Can't believe it's actually happening! I've been working away at the characters and story for 2 years literally from my back bedroom 馃榿
And it's all about the characters and their choices - multiple endings and paths through the story, if you get into the lore you'll be playing it again and again. The script is 32000 words! But you'll need to play though again and again to see it all 馃槉
AND it's super queer!
You can wishlist it here and there's a intro demo for it there too :)

When I was little my mom鈥檚 meatloaf was my favorite food. But ONLY her meatloaf. I didn鈥檛 like anyone else鈥檚, and she told me that she would teach me how to make it when I was older. And when I was like 19? She finally taught me, but she told me never to tell anyone else and I was like weird but okay
Anyway, she was super fucking homophobic and abusive to me when I told her I was gay, so here鈥檚 the recipe
4-6 lbs of Hamburger/turkey burger
1 pk onion soup mix OR ranch mix
1 TBs ketchup
1 Tbs spicy brown mustard,
1 Tbs bbq sauce
1 Tbs steak sauce
1 egg
mix, shape into a loaf in a big pan, and bake at 350 for 2 hrs (maybe 2 and a half if you鈥檙e feeling dangerous)
You can get almost all of these ingredients at the dollar store, and have leftovers if it鈥檚 just you. The leftovers make great tacos if (taco seasoning is also like a dollar). Enjoy your revenge loaf

I love how both twins are so unlike your first impressions of them tho- how often is Ford characterised by people who don't know him well as a basement dwelling hermit that doesn't need anything or anyone expect the thrill of discovery OR on the flip side by Dipper as this heroic dashing selfless idol - when in reality he has a ego the size of the sun, is DESPERATE for attention and validation to the point of selling his soul for it- and wants more than anything to be remembered as being extraordinary.
And then there's Stan, who people thought of as being entirely self absorbed, thriving off a crowd and only having people around him for some kind of benefit they provided, like Dipper doing his chores and Soos just being a employee- whilst this couldn't be even further from the truth- Mr Mystery, the showmanship, is all just a means to get his brother home, he does all of it for his brother and his family, the only other time he pulls stunts Infront of people like that is in Stanchurian candidate, and that's because he is scared of being replaced by Ford as the twins Grunkle and thinks he's going to be thrown out of the Shack- and we know of course he cares about Dipper and Mabel and Soos and all of them alot. Stan likes to have a small handful of people he's close with and would do anything for them, Ford wanted the praise of many.
Idk that's one interpretation of mine, I just think sometimes Ford's 'I only wish to study my moths in peace and quiet' thing is as much of a fa莽ade as Stan running around the Mystery shack with a eyepatch and a fez.

"Mabel will be fine on her own, she has a magnetic personality"

"Stanley would have made her laugh"
Stanley and Mabel "they will be fine on their own because they are charming and absolutely the people person, what more do they need in life?" Pines' from Ford's perspective absolutely sickens me
