the thing about mclennon versus other musician rpf is that they're the beatles. like they made the greatest band of all time together. and whatever you think may have happened between them romantically or sexually the 100% true historical fact about them is that they were Partners. committed creative partners. and that was a real relationship with real intense feelings attached. and are the definitions of platonic/romantic/sexual feelings really that cut and dry? can you really neatly sort them into discrete boxes? john left cynthia for yoko as his wife and john left paul for yoko as his partner and subsequently the beatles breakup reads like a romantic breakup because what's the difference, really? labels? the feelings were the same. and again. the were the beatles. and all their early hits that launched them into the stratosphere were cowritten. song after song, album after album: all progeny spawned from their relationship. i want to hold your hand. we can work it out. a day in the life. their children. how do you neatly define a relationship between two people whose children together were some of the greatest music to ever exist?

my father asked me if i could time travel to one beatles moment what would it be, but he vastly underestimated how seriously i would take that question because my brain literally could not narrow it down because i had too many questions on the specifics of the type of time travel we’re working with. like am i just there for a day? do i get to interact with the boys or would i just be in the background ? would anything change by my presence being there? if i could change history then easy - i’d want to save brian, in the hopes that that would create the most positive change for them all (and hopefully change things enough to stop john’s death) which i feel like a lot of people would agree with. but if i’m just there to be a witness to one moment? aghhhh. my dad said he’d want to see them sometime in the early days at the cavern or in hamburg which are good choices but, as for me, my brain literally short-circuited as i mentally weighed my options
