I think also the shortening of the words artificial intelligence into just “ai” is making it worse. You’re forgetting it’s fake. You’re forgetting it’s not actually intelligent. It is stealing from you, and other people why are you talking to this robot. Why are you letting it melt your brain?? Why don’t you care???

being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

the word "unalive" is almost comically appropriate because it's all but a newspeak word. you could go back and republish every copy of 1984 placing the word "unalive" in each of them and i'd never know the difference. but the similarity isn't just aesthetic, and it doesn't end at the structure of the word. as orwell wrote about newspeak he made sure to emphasize that it existed for the express purpose of making people less able to speak, and therefore less able to think, about the concepts they would have described. the words that are most commonly censored are all words that it benefits those in power for the average person not to talk or even think about, just to depend on that feeling of discomfort and the camaraderie of hatred. he made sure to emphasize that to clip out language is to effectively disempower a populace.

Something that drives me crazy (and I know it can’t really be helped but still) is when I’m at a really intense part of a book, or the end of a book, I’m almost finished, and someone interrupts me. I just finished my book, I was 4 pages away and someone came into my room to do something, completely jarred the whole line, something really intense was happening. And it didn’t ruin it completely but it took me out of the zone I was in. Idk if it’s just me, but it suuuucks
