Turians probably never wear less than long sleeves, pants, and even gloves because everywhere is super cold to them. Palaven is really warm.

Always been a huge fan of Star Wars Empire at War, the 2006 PC RTS, just love how it plays and the management of the Galactic Conquest maps.
So naturally…
I have also always been interested in a Mass Effect conversion mod. The idea of playing through the Reaper War or even other conflicts from the Mass Effect series would be an epic experience. But no one has ever managed to do it because conversion mods are way more work and there’s only ao much to go on for the Mass Effect series.
Well, I want to give it a shot. Actually, this would make my second attempt at modding the game but there are new tools available to work with and I am much more patient and skilled than I was nearly 10 years ago.
So here are the first results of my learning the process of modding!
The F-61 Trident fighter and a fanon ship of my own design, the B-65 Mjolnir bomber.

I’m on track to launch my Patreon first of March! Through it I will be making tabletop miniature STLs for printing that may or may not be directly relevant to my usual content! First month will see the release of the minis that will make up the “Welcome Pack” for all Patrons!
Plus votes will begin for which miniatures to make next! On March 1st I will post links to join and Patrons will be able to download minis ready to print day one!

I’ve been a little inactive lately because I’ve been working hard on starting a 3D modeling project for tabletop miniatures!
With any luck, I’ll be opening a Patreon later this month where I will distribute STL files for 3D printing miniatures! Becoming a patron will get you a starter pack of miniatures and then access to new sculpts each month after that.
If you like the stuff I post already, then I’m sure you might be interested in the miniatures as well!
Stay tuned for more info

Travel Time in Mass Effect
While from a player's perspective in a videogame we never see the realities of travel time in space in the Mass Effect series, the games do give some approximate information about how long it can take in various circumstances. Faster Than Light travel is said to be about 3 parsecs per day, or 12 light years. This is enough to travel between most stellar objects within a given (open) cluster. This means that it would have taken around a week to conduct a brief exploratory survey of a given cluster in any of the Mass Effect games, not including any planetary exploration or missions. This primarily accounts for the time spent traveling between systems. As for Mass Relay travel, things are much faster and distances travelled are significantly further. Information on Mass Relay travel times is much more vague though, described as taking as little as hours to traverse galaxy spanning distances. We could surmise from this that 1 kiloparsec per hour isn't unreasonable, still taking up to 3 hours on some of the longest relay connections to reach the other side.
All this taken together, with the likelihood that a combination of interstellar FTL and Mass Relay travel is necessary for the average journey across the galaxy, it can take at least a day or two to reach the furthest places in the galaxy from any given location. Possibly longer if Mass Relays are not found in the same system as each other in a given connecting cluster.
Somewhat interesting to consider all of this. I wonder how these kinds of calculations map onto the Mass Effect games and their canonical timespans.

Collectors and Protheans
I've been wondering about the evolution of the Collectors and the similarities they still share with the original Protheans. The alterations the Reapers made to them make the Collectors appear more creature-like and insectoid-like. While it made them more functional as a servant race, the addition of wings feels like quite a jump from Prothean anatomy. My thinking on this is that its possibly an actual feature of Prothean physiology and may have been a sexually dimorphic trait that only female Protheans possessed. It could also be a result of differentiated roles in Prothean society like ants or bees do and that individuals have predetermined roles and their associated physiologies. Perhaps this could explain the Collector general's appearance as well.
Interesting to think about how the Collectors changed from their Prothean origins.

I’m so glad that people find my map to be so useful! It took a while to assemble and a lot of cross referencing to get it as accurate as I could!
I might try to expand this map to include more mentioned but never plotted locations using any and all available information to make educated guesses for where to plot them. Locations like Shanxi, Mindoir, Fehl Prime, and more.

I am a bald Quarian truther
It’s perfectly fine for Quarians to biologically grow hair like Humans, but I think that Quarians would have experienced frictional alopecia from wearing their environment-suits their entire lives. It also likely caused permanent follicle dormancy, if they’re anything like humans. This would mean that first generation suit-less Quarians on Rannoch would have no hair at all for the most part and would be unable to grow any even after removing their suits. Only second generation Quarians and beyond would have the chance to grow proper hair.
So unfortunately, Tali would not be sporting 2 feet of flowing, thick wavy hair, Bioware… That’s okay though, I’m sure she’s just as beautiful with a bald head.

Mass Effect Tabletop RPG
So, I have always been interested in the idea of a dedicated tabletop roleplaying game set in the Mass Effect universe. The setting is just about perfect for it and I think it would have so much potential for fun combat and interesting social gameplay. I know there are lots of conversions for other systems, but I wonder what a game built from the ground up would be like.
What Mass Effect rulesets from other systems have you seen or played?
What do you think would be essential aspects of gameplay for a Mass Effect ttrpg?
I personally think that reputation and social mechanics are a must, and combat should be in-depth with things like weapons, equipment, and powers and how you customize/upgrade them. I know that seems vague and surface level, but I could type a book's length about my in-depth thoughts on the idea...
