I used to write real poetry,
The kind with real pen and paper;
In my diary, my journal, any piece of paper I had free, really -
The kind that rhymes and makes sense even years later.
My words, the pen stroke, the pages -
Those were often all I had in those moments of weakness and despair;
Those moments when it felt so good to indulge in the self hate -
When being dark and slightly twisted was ok, because the words set me free to be repaired.

“There is an inner beauty about a woman who believes in herself, who knows she is capable of anything that she puts her mind to. There is a beauty in the strength and determination of a woman who follows her own path, who isn’t thrown off by obstacles along the way. There is a beauty about a woman whose confidence comes from experiences; who knows she can fall, pick herself up, and move on.”
