Artemisia listened to them, as they spoke to each other. She noticed Deidara, getting annoyed, Did he even know where he is going? Where this seven tails even is? All the questions Tobi is asking, are good and reasonable. She was curious to know if he knew, but she doesn’t want to get him mad, so she stayed quiet.

HE DECIDED THAT THE BEST WAY TO MAKE TOBI SHUT UP WAS TO ANSWER THE ONE QUESTION HE HAD ASKED WHICH WAS RELEVANT.

“The Seven-Tails is from Takigakure, where Kakuzu is from, hm. The jinchuuriki is a woman this time around.” He kept walking. Having a woman as one of his subordinates had better not ruin their ability to succeed in the mission.

Artemisia nodded as she followed him, but she wasn’t too far behind, but she wasn’t close either, the only way she figured that would keep her on his good side is to be quiet, don’t speak a single word.

So, that’s what she is doing, hopefully her plan works, she really is attracted to him, so the last thing she wanted was to annoy him, even though it was kinda fun to make him a little red with anger.

She watched all around her, getting familiar with the way to and from the hideout.

MEANWHILE TOBI WAS ANNOYING DEIDARA, AGAIN.

“Senpaiiii!” Tobi cried, “Where are we supposed to go to find the Seven-Tails?! What do you think about having two partners? Are we better than Sasori-senpai?!” 

Deidara didn’t answer as they walked. The mention of Sasori was still irritating to him. Two people couldn’t fill Sasori’s position. That was that. Tobi knew nothing of art, and even though the lizard girl had complimented him, she was still untrustworthy.

In any case, the Bakuton user said nothing.

Artemisia sighed a little, “Listen, Don’t pick fights with Deidara, he can be a little hot-headed.” She said with a nod, “But he is a good teammate, stay on his good side.” She said with a nod, Konan rested her hands on Artemisia’s shoulder, “If you do everything your suppose to, you can have free time, I’ll make pain allow it, he doesn’t care what any of the Akatsuki do in their free time.” She said with a nod. Artemisia nodded as she agreed with her. “I don’t want to attack my village.” She said looking at Konan, she looked away from her for a moment. Konan nodded as she left, She looked at Deidara, “Go after another beast.” She told him, as she passed him.

THE NEW ORDER IRRITATED HIM, BUT HE KNEW BETTER THAN TO CHALLENGE KONAN.

“Fine,” he drawled, looking at Konan impassively. “The Seven-Tails then.” He glanced at Artemisia. “Come on, lizard princess.”

Artemisia relaxed a little, she let out a sigh. She glared at him, “Then do it… What are you waiting for?.” She asked, tilting her head to the side, she looked down at the ground. How could she be attracted to such a jerk?

she slowly moves away from him, she went outside the hideout, to see if she knows the area, she looked around, it was all unfamiliar. she bit the inside of her cheek, her escape was going to be hard since she had no idea where she was.

She sniffed the air, all she got was his scent, no leads, her hands went into fists. She continued to look around, maybe it would be easier to not get the blonde-haired bomber mad all the time, even though it was a little fun.

Konan came out and stood next to Artemisia. “This is not a life for you.” She said in a low quiet tone, “I’m sorry, that you’re here.” She said, looking at her with the corner of her eye. She looked at Artemisia once more, she was shocked, though Artemisia was a prisoner of the Akatsuki's there was no sadness or fear or anything, she was calm, Konan didn’t understand why

HE REALLY COULD HAVE DESTROYED HER IF IT WASN’T PAIN’S ORDERS TO KEEP HER ALIVE.

She didn’t seem to even understand the fact that he was only keeping her around because he had been ordered to, and the taunting vaguely irritated him. Still, his dominance over two members of the Akatsuki, what with him being one of the youngest, satisfied him (even if he wasn’t sure which one of his subordinates was dumber than the other).

He watched Konan interact with the girl, expressionless. He didn’t really care what they were saying.

All he cared about was catching the Nine Tails with any means necessary. And Artemisia would be their key.

Artemisia looked away from him “I know what your trying to do, your trying to get into my head.” She said looking back at him, she has her hands over her ears, “it’s not going to work, I won’t listen to you.” She said, she watched him carefully.

She couldn’t hide that she was attracted to him, to her, he is beautiful, like a god, but he had so much attitude it was hot but also a turnoff.

She looked around, she needed to leave, “I will not help you, and you won’t make it far into the village without being caught.” She said with a small chuckle.

AH, THAT BLUFF OF HERS, THAT SHE WOULDN’T LISTEN, WAS FUNNY.

Her emotions could easily be twisted in their favor. If she didn’t want to be touched, then so be it; he didn’t want to touch her anyway. By making contact he had assured himself that she was indeed attracted to him and therefore could be swayed if he played the game just right. Now, in order to make her fall in love he’d have to look like he respected her wishes in the meantime.

“So be it, hm. Don’t help us...die a meaningless, unhappy death at my hands...if you prefer.”

She looked away from him, she had to protect her village from them, maybe she could sneak away and warn them about this. She shook her head “I am NOT going against my village, I am not apart of this lame group.” She said as her hands went into fists, “I will not help you guys get the beasts, I rather die.” She said with a huff

HE SMILED.

“Ah, are you scared of me, lizard princess?” he asked her, a smirk on his face. “You are a terrible liar, hm. Like it or not, you will help us…” he stepped close, observing her face and the way she reddened as he approached. “Hm…?”

Artemisia didn’t like his sharp stare, but she had to shake them off Naruto’s back somehow, she shook her head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She said as she avoided his sharp stare. “I heard the nine tails is strong.” She said with a nod, she looked at him for a moment, “Why not going another beast.” She said looking away from him.

She was quiet for a moment, “What do you think, Lollipop head?.” She asked, tilting her head to the side. as she waited.

“DON’T LIE TO ME.”

He spat the words out. “I’m not a fool. You relied on Naruto, I know that much.” A blue eye narrowed at her. “You lived in the same village and you knew his friends. Obviously you knew him too, hmm?” he hissed. “If you want to protect him, you’re too late. You’re with us now.”

Tobi looked at her as she asked her question. “Erm...I just do as senpai says! If senpai says to catch the nine-tails, I want to make senpai happy and help!” he laughed childishly.

Artemisia avoided eye contact with the blonde hair bomber. She really had to be good now, she hated this. She hated them. with every part of her being. Her back is towards everyone, no one could see her glare, her red eyes. Also, no one could see the anger in her eyes. She looked at pain with the corner of her eye, but how she was standing, it looked like she couldn’t see him.

Then, turned to face Deidara completely, bowing her head a little “Of course, I will pull my own weight.” She said as she continued to avoid eye contact with him. He didnt know her well, so he couldn’t see through her lie.

DEIDARA WAS NO FOOL.

The logical thing to do would be for a captive to plan an escape. He had to make sure that didn’t happen. But now he had to look after her as well as Tobi. Fun. “We will continue with our mission to hunt the Nine-Tails. You know him well, don’t you?” He gave her a sharp stare.

Artemisia looked at him, then away. “thought you had lollipop head.” She said looking away from him for a moment, she looked down at her hands, moving them, to make sure she had movement. this wasnt the first time, turning to stone.

She stood up slowly, right now, she had to be good, but she will plan her escape carefully. She will not let them control her, they just want her beast, that was it, she wasnt special to anyone, they kill her in a heartbeat if she stepped out of line.

SHE WAS ALREADY BEING ANNOYING AND THEY HADN’T EVEN BEEN ASSIGNED TO DO ANYTHING YET.

“If you want to be killed, then just ask,” he barked at her, unamused. “I’m on orders here, so you better pull your weight in this partnership. Even Tobi has his purpose here and I expect you to help if you value your life.”

Pain watched him. The short-fuse temper of the bomber would be useful in keeping the jinchuuriki in line. Not to mention she seemed to harbor some kind of affection for him beforehand.

Pain glared at Deidara “This girl is not useless, now that we know what’s inside her.” He said looking away from him, he watched the girl. After some time, Artemisia woke up, but she still felt a little dizzy, she sat up as she held her head, she looked around, seeing all of Akatsuki members, She felt like she was on a stage with a spotlight.

She blushed and hide her face, she remained quiet, but she was still confused on why she was alive still, didn’t they want the beast inside her?, wasn’t that what Deidara told her?

DEIDARA KNEW BETTER THAN TO PUSH PAIN’S TEMPER ANY FURTHER.

He just shrugged, his palms up in surrender, before fixing Artemisia with a sharp, blue-eyed stare.

“You. It seems it’s useless to simply extract your jinchuuriki…” his mouth twitched with annoyance as he said so. “You must not be killed under the orders of Pain but you cannot be allowed to escape. I, Deidara, will be your partner in service to this organization. Don’t make me regret this.”

His visible eye narrowed as he barked the order, waiting for her answer.
