i should have made this post so much earlier but the fact that israel premier tech is allowed in cycling is genuinely disgusting. sportswashing should NOT be a thing and yet people are condemning protesters who are fighting against GENOCIDE simply because their favourite either didn’t win a stage or rides for the genocidal team. it is a conscious decision to support and ride for a team like ipt, and it is inexcusable to allow them to continue in the sport.

protesting is NOT the problem, israel is. you can live without your cycling race. you are complaining about protests because you think your satisfaction with a bike race is more important than the lives of thousands of innocent people. that itself shows the ignorance and disconnection from the world. at this point, it’s not about you, and it never has been. the fact that you have the privilege to complain says enough as is.

the acceptance of israel and zionism in sport (not just cycling) is appalling, and the blatant disregard for the actions of israel is shocking. just because he is your favourite doesn’t make it okay for him to go on holiday in israel. if you are defending these people, you are defending israel and its genocide.

keep in mind as well that speaking out like this is quite literally the bare minimum. if you have the facilities, donate, protest, contact your government, TAKE ACTION.

i hope this post clears up my views on the current situation (cycling situation, the genocide has gone on for decades). i have always been and always will be pro palestine. if you are willing to excuse israel’s actions, fuck you, and block me.
