I posted this to tiktok but thought I'd post it here too. Whoever is directing Pluto is doing an incredible job, the whole team in fact is smashing it. This video shows the comparison of the Oom May scene from Episode 8 and Episode 11. The way they highlight the difference between how Oom words are perceived by May and how they're actually being said is beautifully done. In episode the framing, the lighting, Namtans acting was all designed to make Oom seem cold because that's how May percieves it. But when we see how Oom remembers it the lighting is softer, she's clearly upset, the framing is different, her posture is different.
I'm a nerd for beautifully excuted scenes and this is a prime example of why Pluto is a work of art not just as a Thai GL but as a TV show in general.

Just made myself so so sad thinking about Aang's marble trick because from a physics perspective, keeping dense spherical objects afloat on an airstream is not trivial, and he's doing it in a tiny little space without moving his hands. Bending is usually very gestural. So. Everyone in the era of the show is, at best, impressed THAT it is airbending. But Aang's an incredibly young master airbender. He wouldn't be acting like this was the bestest trick ever if it didn't take at least some skill; he's a goofy kid but he's also a prodigy. I bet other airbenders were absolutely blown away (pun fully intended) at the level of precision and force and minimalism of movement on display and now there's no one who understands at all why he expects accolades.

My 2024 Completed Kdramas (in order)
My Demon
My first and favorite I've seen so far. It's what drew me in to the genre and I loved everything about it. I enjoyed the plot, the acting, the cinematography, the music, everything. I'd get a hard copy if it came with English subtites and wouldn't break my bank.
A+
Destined With You
The first episode gave me whiplash. Netflix sold it as a fantasy romance and we start with a death, grim reaper, and bloody ghost hand. Tbf it absolutely was a fantasy romance, but I was not ready for the range of genres this show had. Loved the cast of characters, overall plot, and the comedy. The constant Subway scenes did break me a little, but special shout out for this show being the reason I am now a fan of SF9. (Rowoon was an active member until a year-ish so ago. Definitely check out their music).
B+
Strong Woman Bong-soon
I loved the chemistry of the leads and the insane plot. A lot of heart and a lot of laughs. I'd like it so much more if the gang didn't get so much screen time.
C+
A Business Proposal
Hidden identity? Boss and employee relationship? One of the best secondary couples I've ever seen? Yes, please I'll have another. The plot was a little weak in some areas, but the comedy never missed. Though I do find the ending to be unnecessary rushed, I'd watch it again.
B
King the Land
If I had to describe this show in two words: Cotton Candy. Nothing but sweet and fluff. I do wish there was more conflict, but I do enjoy a couple that stays together and openly communicates with one another. Nothing but tooth rotting fluff perfect for an easy watch.
B
Extraordinary Attorney Woo
One of my absolute favorites. A different case every episode and the character growth was fantastic to see from everyone. The actors did a fantastic job and I found it interesting to see how legal cases are represented in Korea.
A
Doctor Slump
Another one of my favorites. The two leads are phenomenal at blending heartbreaking drama with full belly laugh comedy. While some bits do get dark (it's literally about two depressed doctors) it was surprisingly light and left me feeling so happy.
A+
Dr. Romantic (Season 1)
I started season two but got distracted and didn't finish, though I did like what I saw. As for season 1, a great introduction to so many wonderful characters. A pretty standard plot, but the actors did a great job and I appreciate them not shying away from the moral complexities such a profession entails.
B+
Under the Queen's Umbrella
Not gonna lie, this show started so freaking slow. But once it laid the foundation and hit the gas, it didn't hit the breaks until the end. The acting was impressive (special shout out to SF9 maknae Chani) and that one plot line for the son and the dress made me cry. While the pacing was slow, it was worth it to watch the Queen absolutely dominate while playing 4d chess.
A
Crash Landing on You
I enjoyed the relationships that were built and the slow softening of a hard character. Justice for my second leads! I don't know if they deserved a happy ending, but I would have liked to have seen it. The relationships (between all the characters, not just the romantic pairings) were definitely the most important part of the show and it was interesting to see how they viewed North Korea(ns).
B+
Doom at Your Service
Cocky shape-shifting demon with a secret heart of gold? Yes, please. I loved the main character and his interactions with literally anyone. It's the second time I've seen a take on god and the devil so I really enjoyed the differences in the approach and overall message.
B.
Hotel de Luna
An absolute rollercoaster of emotions. Crying and laughing, joy and pain, and the music??!?! An absolutely incredible experience that I can not talk about enough. Each character had a fleshed out story where the motivations were known and they all ended where they should. Hear shattering or otherwise. And did I mention the killer soundtrack? (Seriously, go check it out. Nothing but beautiful music.)
A+
Queen of Tears
This show drew me in with the wacky angle of a husband being delighted his wife is dying because now he won't have to divorce her and have his father-in-law ruin his life. I got maybe three episodes of that before the pain kicked in. The acting from these two leads is some of the best work I've seen. They balance light semi realistic comedy with absolute gut wrenching heart aching scenes. Two worlds colliding, flipping, falling apart, and getting back together was beautiful to see, but I can't help but feel the writers lost the thread with the overall plot. Just a little too much happening too soon and all at once.
B-
Vincenzo
Oh how I love this show. The action, the comedy, the intensity, the excellence constantly on display from the writers to the actors to the editors. Ex mafia turned legit lawyer who finds family along the way. Can't beat it, even though our villain will try. (Hello second 2pm member.) The perfect blend of my favorite genres.
A+
Love to Hate You
Short, sweet, and delightful. Not as fluffy as the other shows, but that's why I love it. A woman who knows how society works and uses it to her benefit. Why the hell not?
B
Run On
Another one of my favorites and another pretty low stakes story. Yes, there is a bit of violence from bully athletes, but thats the whole point. Shedding a light into the culture of seniors and juniors of sports and the abuse that exists because of it. Incredibly telling and bold to challenge the norms so obviously. The rest is an dream of a romance between an English interpreter and a star runner. The second leads were an absolute delight and I couldn't get enough of them. (Hello second SNSD member.)
A+
Alchemy of the Souls
I had great time watching the characters play in this world. It's so different to eveything else I've watched that it felt like a breath of fresh air. The plot was plotting and the actor were acting. Trapped in a body that isn't hers and unable to escape it, a powerful mage and assassin trains a lord who never received a chance at becoming a great mage like his father before him. Throw in a charming friend group who would help you drink a basin of filth and you got me hooked. Season 2 was not as action packed as Season 1, but it was still a wonderful conclusion to the story.
A
So I Married My Anti-Fan
A bit disappointing in the chemistry department, but some things can't be helped. There were certain scenes and bits I enjoyed, but this was rather forgettable. (Sorry third member of 2pm and same 2nd member of SNSD. It wasn't either of your faults.)
C-
Sh**ting Star
Better chemistry and a tighter plot than the previous, but the constant and random Africa references were weird. On the one hand, Africa is a whole ass continent, it's weird to only mention it as such. Secondly, why did the ml need to go the some village in Africa?? He couldn't do some other charity work someplace else? Either way, it was a fun window into the world of celebrity and how many people they have to have behind them.
C+
Flower of Evil
I found this a week before they took it off of Netflix. This show started with its foot on the gas and it did not slow for turns. The plot is the most important part and it was so tightly written, acted, directed, and edited. A fugitive marries a cop and all hell breaks loose as secrets of the past get revealed. I can not think of one issue I had with it. Truly.
A+
Love Next Door
The last kdrama I watched this year before moving to Thai gls. It was so genuinely lovely that i wish I could experience it all again. There are a lot of tropes, but it's beautifully acted and crafted through the lense of genuine love and affection. Besides, best friends to lovers is my kryptonite and they absolutely delivered. Plus! The second leads and their little family is adorable and I wish they had a lot more screentime. But if they get their own show, I'd be OK with that too.
