The story’s a little bit different with the 6th-gen iPad Mini, mind, since it starts $100 higher than before at $499. But the upgrade incentives are still strong: it’s a crystal-clear update over its predecessor with a larger and higher resolution 8.3-inch screen despite its slightly smaller and lighter frame, with a magnetic connector to dock a 2nd-gen Apple Pencil. It’s got the A15 Bionic chip from the new iPhone 13, but with the extra graphics core you’ll only otherwise fined on the iPhone 13 Pro. The camera’s bigger and faster at 12MP and f/1.8 (compared to 8MP and f/2.4), with 4K video for the first time, and both the Wi-Fi 6 and 5G support that the 2019 model lacked. Just don’t go looking for a headphone jack.
Apple is managing all of this during a pandemic and a global chip shortage, and so far there’s only been a single indication that Tim Cook’s giant manufacturing machine can’t keep up: The new Apple Watch Series 7 was rumored to be delayed due to production issues, and while it reportedly overcame them, we don’t have any release date for the new watch save “later this fall” and Apple’s being cagey about the details.

California Streaming
In 2021, the same $829 you’d pay last year now buys you twice the storage, a whopping 2.5 additional hours of quoted battery life, more 5G bands, and an additional 175 nits of brightness over the iPhone 12, plus the 47 percent larger sensor and sensor-shift stabilization system that was previously exclusively available in the $1,099-and-up iPhone 12 Pro Max. A new cinematic video mode isn’t exclusive to the Pros, either (though smooth 120Hz screens, a new macro photography mode and ProRes video will be.) And while the company doesn’t offer any real numbers to back it up, Apple claims even the iPhone 13 Mini will give you the fastest processor available in any smartphone on the market.

12 Pro to 13 Pro
Coming from the 12 pro, the 13 pro does offer some features that I wish I could have gotten on the 12...
-bigger battery (Apple must have gone lazy last year, they managed to give us a smaller battery in the 12 pro than in the 11 pro. The internal logic board was HUGE compared to the 11pro. It seems that they didn't do much work shrinking it or it was a cost-saving measure for the 12 pro and 12 to have matching internals. There was so much wasted space in the 12 where there was empty stuff instead of the 3rd camera and the lidar sensor. This year, we are seeing better designed, different internals in the 13 vs the 13pro.)
-120hz
-smaller notch.

The iPhone 13 is a pitch-perfect iPhone 12S
Exactly. Apple's chips have gotten so damn good that there really isn't a need for a faster chip. 99.9% of iPhone users will never ever run into a use case where a chip more powerful than like the A13 would come in handy. Like I get there's value in future-proofing, but we've gotten to a point where mobile hardware is so good that it'll take a long time for mobile software demands to keep up.
I remember when smartphones were first becoming popular and SoC performance was a major factor in purchasing decisions, but for the past 5+ years its basically just been an afterthought.

I once got downvoted to oblivion for suggesting apple let us have more options. I think there should be an option for the low Battery warning (20%, 10%). Instead of it taking over your screen and making you click ok, it should come down on the top like a banner. won’t impede your phone usage and can be swiped away. unreal how we still can’t choose to do certain things.

iPhone 13
This is what I was going to say. I think a lot of it is because the battery percentage isn't really that accurate to begin with and vastly shifts it's usefulness of estimating remaining charge based on what you're doing with your phone. People do obsess over such things too much sometimes and I'll admit that on my 12, once I got used to not constantly seeing the percentage I was pretty okay with it. It might've had some positive impact. Doesn't justify not being able to choose. My S20 has the choice and I choose to see the percentage on that device and my Mac. Just let us decide. It's another example of apple making mostly good decisions for most people, but the inability to decide yourself hurts those who it doesn't work for. It's the same with notification bar status icons. I get that apple wants everything to be clean, but we altreays have widgets and all kinds of junk all over the place, might as well let people clutter their ui if they want to.

Koenigia islandica is a minute, hairless, annual plant with a slender taproot. It grows to a height of 1 to 2 cm (0.4 to 0.8 in) and is one of the world's smallest plants. It has simple or branched, often reddish, stems which root at the lower nodes. The leaves are in opposite pairs, fused at the base to a short sheath which surrounds the stem; the leaf blades are up to 3 mm (0.12 in) long, obovate, oblong or elliptic, with a blunt tip. The inflorescence is a few-flowered cyme with several bracts. The individual flowers are green, white or pinkish, bisexual, with three tepals, three stamens and three fused carpels. The fruit is a three-sided nut containing a single seed.[2] Flowering occurs during July and August.[1]

Emma Raducanu /ˌɛməræduˈkɑːnuː/[2] (born 13 November 2002) is a British professional tennis player and the current US Open Champion.[3][4] She is the current British No. 1, and reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 23 on 13 September 2021.
Ranked No. 338 in the world at the time, Raducanu was awarded a wildcard into the main draw at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships, and reached the fourth round in her first appearance at a major championship.[5] Two months later, she entered the qualifying competition for the 2021 US Open and, reaching the main draw, went on to become the first qualifier men or women in the Open Era to reach and win a Grand Slam singles final.[4] In the final, Raducanu defeated Leylah Fernandez, winning the title without losing a set throughout the tournament.[3][6] She became the first British woman to win a major singles title since Virginia Wade at the 1977 Wimbledon Championships, and the first to do so at the US Open since Wade in 1968.

Roman withdrawal from Africa
The Roman withdrawal from Africa in 255 BC was the attempt by the Roman Republic to rescue the survivors of their defeated expeditionary force to Carthaginian Africa (in what is now north-eastern Tunisia) during the First Punic War. A force of 390 warships fought and defeated 200 Carthaginian vessels off Cape Hermaeum (the modern Cape Bon or Ras ed-Dar), north of the town of Aspis. The Carthaginians had 114 of their ships captured, together with their crews, and 16 sunk. Most modern historians assume there were no Roman losses. The Romans landed in Aspis – where the Roman survivors of the previous year's invasion were besieged – sortied, dispersed the besiegers and raided the surrounding country for food. All then re-embarked and left for Italy. While returning the Roman fleet encountered a storm off the south-east corner of Sicily; 384 ships were sunk and more than 100,000 men were lost.
