Unpopular opinion(?) i dont think the rtc fandom looks at ocean's neglect the right way

Of course there is not only one way to be neglected but i tend to notice fans either completely overlook oceans neglect as simply her parents not giving into her selfish atention-seeking patterns (which come from neglect btw) or go full abusive mode in fanfics with her parents hitting her while on drugs and i believe this can be true too, usually if they are neglectful due to drugs other dangerous behaviours will prpbably come from them

my point is most times neglect is much more subtle than that and it can cause the same harm than a punch if not more. On certain aspects from the outside you could say Ocean was being well taken care of but after knowing her we clearly realize her emotional needs were not met at all and it clearly shaped her as a person who needs contant seek of attention and to proof she can be worth enough (specially if we focus in play to win ocean)
