There is nothing more tender than playing with someone’s hands…..it sounds so dumb but stroking each other’s palms & tapping on each other’s wrists & twisting your fingers together & squeezing each other’s hands…..it’s like having a conversation that no one else can hear!

the five homoerotic love languages:
- intimate stabbing
- outright obsession
- confused pining
- "no one knows me like you do"
- lifelong promises that always sound suspiciously like wedding vows

Pictured above is one of the most famous and intricate pieces made by Bahraini goldsmiths called (AlHama), which is placed on the head, with the pieces called 'Sarareeh' dangling from the back and on the sides of the head. It is called "AIHama" because it is placed on the centre of the head.

Dori is really freaking serious about tea okay he’s written NOVELS on brewing, different mixes, etc., he’s the freaking tea LOREMASTER so when he’s in Rivendell he’s in the library and casually mentions that he wrote a couple of the books there on tea and that’s how Dori gained his own personal hot elf posse.

Ori knits really ugly sweaters (like SERIOUSLY hideous) and calls them his ‘abstract knitting patterns’. He makes them for everyone on their birthdays/whenever and everyone’s too afraid to tell him how gross they look so they all wear them for a day and then 'mysteriously’ misplace them. (Except for Dwalin, who unironically loves them and wears them all the time, which Nori teases him for.)

It seems to me that quite a few people headcanon Dwalin as struggling with literacy and/or dyslexic, but you know…
After seeing those headcanons, I thought about it and I realized I kind of imagine Balin being the one who was dyslexic, and he had to really fight because as much trouble as letters gave him he honestly did have a gift for words and fine legal points and he wanted to be a scholar so badly.
And of course papa Fundin was supportive every step of the way even if he wasn’t always sure how best to help, bless his heart.

So, Bifur’s supposed to only speak Khuzdul. To be specific, Ancient Khuzdul.
I read a book ages ago that was narrated from the POV of a storyteller, and for some reason, things collided, and now I have this headcanon of Bifur actually training to be a keeper and teller of stories. If he was half as amiable as Bofur is, he would be a great person to draw others in, and tell stories in Khuzdul, and in Ancient Khuzdul, the same way these stories have been passed down for years.
Combining that with his toymaking, you get puppetry, which I actually think would fit him very well. Bifur would have told stories, acting out the characters. I basically see him as someone who helps the lower class people remember stories/legends/epic tales.
And then he went to war, or maybe as he was travelling to tell his stories elsewhere, they were attacked, and then the ax to the head happened, leaving him with only the stories he worked so hard to memorize.

I love all the Dwarves and of course the Durins have a large place in my heart (90% of that is Dís ngl) but I think the most precious out of the company to me are Bombur and Ori.
Bombur has been played like a walking fat joke. Less so in the movie, but he also doesn’t have a single line. But I imagine that while Bombur is pretty shy, he is a loyal and loving friend. I love the idea that Bombur is a fantastic cook, and I imagine that’s where he expresses most of his love, through giving his family and company the best food he possibly can. I imagine he has an uncanny knack for turning the most basic ingredients into the loveliest, tastiest dishes and he works so hard to maybe make times feel just a little less rough for those he loves.
And Ori I think definitely has been treated a bit like a child. But he is intelligent and eager to learn and do his best, and he is incredibly skilled as a scribe and artist. And when it comes down to it, he is also fiercely protective of those he loves and would do anything to keep them safe and unharmed.
idk I just have a lot of feelings about Ori and Bombur and I feel they definitely get less love and attention than they deserve
