“peoples penchants for encroaching upon my personal space is rather annoying,” he murmured into his cup. couldn’t fate be a little kinder to send another to him, someone that didn’t have a connection to his boss. “find someone else to talk with tress.”

“that’s not exactly a secret,” she pointed out with a devilish grin. it was so amusing to cause a little bit of trouble. “what? you don’t like me? how unfortunate,” she cooed with a feigned frown.

“do i have all of my limbs in tact to get a job that can support me and my pets?” he asked. sitting down on his chair to look out into the ocean again, paying minimum attention to the girl as he wondered why exactly she’d thought to ask him and not someone else. “leave the money and the package and we’ll see about it.”

“i don’t do maybe’s,” tress clarified with a small shrug. “there’s quite the impressive sum in this bag.” throwing the sack at his feet, she crossed her arms once more. “either take it or i’ll be on my way.”

“oh, its you.” cocking his head to the side to look at her from the corner of his eyes with an uninterested expression. “tress the omnipotent figure of carthay. always a pleasure to have to around,” he drawled out. hook had seen her around with zarina every once in a while, something that made him incredibly wary of the girl. however, as careful as he should be around her, having her near his boat annoyed him more than he cared to admit. “i’m always available for business, depending on what i can gain from them.”

“quite the introduction,” she stated matter of factly. tress liked her ego fluffed just as much as anyone, but she wasn’t really interested in small talk. “are you interested in cash?” she asked bluntly. “i need to leave something on your boat. someone will come pick it up at dawn.”

Barrel pouted his lip a bit before looking over his shoulder at the grey and black pitbull that came bounding up the sidewalk with a stick in her mouth. “I uh, I got a dog?” 

“you really are the least swift selick. where are your siblings? maybe they’ll be a little more helpful that you are.”

Panic practically scoffed, rolling his eyes as he replied, “C’mon, th-that’s just unfair — you already know my life is boring.” Although, he did pause for a second to really think about whether something interesting happened recently. “— I-I’ve got nothing. Pain or Hades would be your best bet. Maybe even Megara.”

“you need to be more interesting, for my sake,” she practically commanded. “you can’t possibly just work...and then go home!” as she awaited some sort of answer, tress let out a groan at his reply. “of course i know what hades is up to. tragic, really, how boring it’s gotten around here.”

Christopher shrugged with a smirk. “Sorry, I’ve got a good example to set for the kiddos. What’s got you so pissed?”

“tragic,” she groaned, rubbing at her temples. “i’ve grown fairly bored with this place. seems as if all the interesting usuals have disappeared.”

“wouldn’t lying be a very basic thing, and rather boring? everyone lies,” he replied. “sometimes we even lie to do some sort of good, and to not try an affect the people we love an appreciate.”

“depends on the lie,” she clarified. with a raise of her brow, she leaned in as if to hear a secret. “and what have you been hiding from the ones you love, my dear?”

aaron’s lips curled in disdain as he heard the voice of the witch, almost turning around in his chair to reply to her. instead he continued eating his breakfast in disinterest, ignoring her as long as he could.

within moments, she recognized the familiar figure. a devilish grin crept upon her lips. she was in the mood for causing a little trouble. “oh, aaron,” she practically sang, “how curious fate is. i ask for a trouble, and look who i get.” taking a seat next to him, she rested her chin on the palm of her hand. “anything you’d care to get off your chest?”

“everyone in this goddamn town is positively boring,” she huffed. “you,” she commanded at the nearest person. “tell me you’ve done something exciting. i mean, anything. you lied, stole, cheated ── i don’t care! just tell me something.”

Hook was leaning against the mast of his boat looking as the sun began to set, marveling at the beauty nature gave to them without expectations. The gentle sound of the classical music playing in the background, creating a comfortable and relaxing moment. A comfortable chair sat a couple of feet away, cup of coffee and a poetry book on top of a table, with a small replica of his chess board. “One day i’ll set sail and never return,” he murmured in peace. The bubble he had created around him suddenly popped at the loud sound of splashing water. “What in the hell’s?”

throwing a stone in the water nearby the man, tress couldn’t help but snicker. he looked so peaceful, and maybe she would be a little more respectful had it not been for the fact that he was practically playing warden with her dear friend. tress wasn’t exactly sure of hook’s motives, but she knew she wasn’t really a fan of him either way. “we can all hope,” she replied with a small shrug, “so good to see you, james, really. you seem available to talk some business. interested?”

    "Should I go to this?“ asked Jenny, staring down at the flyer in her hand. She had been surprised to get it while she was on campus. It wasn’t like she was known for going out and partying,” I feel like this could be weird, would it be weird? God I am horrible at this.“

“don’t know, don’t care,” tress replied bluntly without wavering her attention from her magazine. “what is with carthay residents assuming that people like me are interested in their minuscule and, frankly, boring lives? for christ’s sake, just go to the party.”
