Silence settled over May as she stared at the other with neutral eyes, listening to what Emma had to say before a grin slowly twisted on the other girls face. A small snort leaves May, and she lets out a breathy chuckle. Probably the first, real sound from her as she shook her head slowly. Black hair over her eyes, she eventually tipped her head back and laughed louder. Snorting again, she slapped a hand over her mouth as tears sprung to her eyes.
There was just something hilarious about this! Swallowing thickly as she was rendered to hysteric giggles, she gripped the others wrist and squeezed. Flipping something out of her sleeve, she jabs it into the others forearm with a wide grin. One of the reasons why you really shouldn’t touch May, but she did it in spite of the others words. It was just an adjusted numbing agent. Something the dentists would use to make the area around their teeth unfeeling. She did it to confuse Emma’s body, for the most part.
Tumblr media
Her voice came out as a meek whisper, nothing even audible had Emma not been this close. Grabbing Emma’s collar instead, May inhales through her nostrils before smiling. “You’re ... not as smart as I gave you credit for. I must apologize for my mistake.” She hissed out.
Shoving the other to the ground, she dusted her shirt off before popping a squat down beside the other.
` I gave you something to calm you down. You’ll probably forget about this whole exchange in half an hour tops. `

Having moved slightly to the right, the knife whizzes past her face as she flicks her silver eyes to the other. She doesn’t exactly seem frightened nor threatened herself, if anything, she holds onto that tidbit for the future.
` First of all: They’re not my minions. I don’t have any minions. I never will have any minions. `
Tumblr media
` Second of all: Ryan’s just as human as everyone else I’ve come across. You’re honestly weaker than him for giving your emotions away like that. Had I been anyone else I would’ve actively went after him instead of dealing with you; I trust you, though, and it’s hard for me to say about anyone else. We may not be friends, that’s for damn sure, but still. `
A small noise leaves her as she rubs her throat, peering down at the ground for a moment or two before grabbing the knife that lodged itself in the wall. Twirling it swiftly in her hands, she tosses it back to the other.
` You gotta understand that you’re still capable of dying. Fucking around with people like me is probably not the ideal thing to do. I have things on me at this very moment that would put the smartest chemist to shame, Emma. I could literally kill you with one dart. One throw anywhere and you’d be gone. `
Tumblr media
` Understand? `
Tumblr media
She let out a laugh. Just a loud, maniacal laugh. Honestly, had she wanted to, she could’ve broken glass with it. Her laughter subsided after a moment, and she let her hue focus on May once again.
“And you’re immune? You think you’d last a SECOND against me? You rememba’ what happened when we met, yes? I took your breath out with a single kick. Image what I could do with you tied up in a chair, no little robots comin’ to save you…all at my mercy.
You forget who I am. An’ dat’s a damn MISTAKE on your part. You can’t unda’estimate anyone in dis world. It’ll eitha’ lead to a pleasant surprise or a fatal wound. I would know.”
Tumblr media
Her brow lowered.
“As for Ryan? Well, at least I’m CAPABLE a’ love. What, is dat suddenly a WEAKNESS? No. It gives me a REASON to fight. I’d be dead if it weren’t for him. An’ I’m not afraid ta’ share dat.
He’s a big boy, an’ he can take care a’ himself…but if need be, I’ll kill anyone and EVERYONE for him…including you. Capishe?”
She gripped onto the other’s shirt, staring her down for a moment…before releasing and snarling.

` Technically it’s our problem. The police got a hold of one of my trackers and a vial of the chemical I use to instantly shutdown the brain ... It’s not something they should have, and you’re the only other person I know that’s worth the breath to try and reason with. You understand, right? `
Tumblr media
May stopped signing, dropping her arm before folding them over her chest. She doesn’t exactly have all the time in the world, the remote sitting in her back pocket for the specified tracker. If Emma didn’t help, she’d just go give the remote to Ryan and have the police find him instead.
` You already know what could happen if they trace the signal, don’t you. `

She paused, turning to look at the other villain as soon as she’d seen the other’s signing in the reflection of the nearby window. She tensed, before shaking her head and opening the door to exit.
“That’s…your problem, then.”

The footfalls behind May didn’t startle her, but she mutely cursed herself that she was able to have been traced. Of course nobody normally would’ve tried to follow her, so she deducted that it must’ve either been a really observant yet stupid human, or an android.
Tumblr media
Keeping her footsteps incredibly light, she turned to look down the tunnel she was going through. Slowly lowering her heels again, she continued to walk lightly, guards still up as she pursed her lips silently. She couldn’t exactly just give herself to the police .. That killed the whole point of what she was trying to do. A major point to prove, really. As simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less.
Controlling her breathing as well, she stayed relatively calm even with the threat of being shot looming over her head. Comical, in a sense.
Tumblr media
It would’ve been crippling for anyone else, but given how desensitized she’d grown to threats such as this, it  was hard to actually bring herself to panic. A small puff left her nose as she was at the end of the tunnel, looking up at the covered manhole, she paused. Staring through the metal grates leading further into the sewers, she eventually opted to press her forehead against the cool metal. As unsanitary as it was, she didn’t seem to mind that much.
Just breathe, and hopefully .. With slim chances, she’d be able to talk to whoever decided to pursue her.
It also gave her time to think as they tried to figure out where exactly she wandered off to, so she opted to indulge in her thoughts for once.
Tumblr media
She could remember what happened and what her motives were for wanting to kill off the human population, or at the very least destroy society altogether. That was why she targeted the “big shot” politicians who wanted nothing more than to `fix` the city altogether. It was tiresome to listen to their ramblings and falsified views to do something terrible altogether themselves.
In a way, she was helping.
In another way, everything she’d done had been illegal.
Leaning against the bricks of the tunnel, the water sloshed slightly as it moved through the grate to whatever plant was nearby. Arms resting limply by her sides, she could more than likely be mistaken for an android with how unnaturally stoic she was ... It was funny, actually.
She’d much rather be an android than a human, anyway.
Tumblr media
It was complicated and unnecessarily hard being a person. Especially one who had been used thoroughly. None of the cases she’d followed idly in the safety of the bunker had anything like her in the files. Nobody mugged and robbed of their freedom of speech. Not many criminals were constantly spoken down to. Not many fought for their own views, either. None of them were really like her, and she could appreciate that fact.

That was more than likely the first time she’s actively done something such as this under her normal persona. The facade she held up consistently was slowly slipping through the cracks here and there, and her own personality was getting a bit rocky. Suspicious, if anything, had people been smart enough to focus in on her eyes. The only person who had done so thus far was Ketsa, a complete stranger save for the fact that he told her he wanted to better himself, so he amputated his arm.
She felt a bitter taste on her tongue with that, but she could force herself to respect his decisions. Her alter ego whispered cruelly in the back of her mind, telling her that it wasn’t worth it still to be speaking with someone such as himself.
Tumblr media
Wasn’t worth the time nor the effort.
In a few quick moments, she walked slowly out into the rain once more, shielded by the roof of the cafe before turning her head in the way Ketsa had gone. Clutching her fists by her sides, she turned her head in the opposite direction with a silent thought. A shout from inside the cafe caught her attention, and she knew that they’d found the body with the syringe in the back. Quickly turning after where Ketsa had gone, she quickly took off after him.
No use in getting caught now.

Tumblr media
Even if she’d been through the same old for a while, it still struck a chord with her. As someone with ulterior motives for the city, she couldn’t help but allow the words to fester inside her and fuel her plans for a bigger horizon.
Someone behind them said something about her being a brat from rumors they’d caught wind of, and she felt her hand twitch. She always kept a syringe on her, and she could absolutely just .. snap their neck if she so desired. Biting her tongue and feeling her blood boil slightly as she focused on what others were also saying, her eyes narrowed darkly as she pursed her lips.
Tumblr media
1, 2, 3, 4 ...
She counted silently in her head. The moment the woman behind them excused herself to the restroom, May pushed away from her seat and stood to follow. It’s obvious she’s not in the right state of mind now, but even as the door opens and slips shut behind the two of them, it was obvious what would happen.
A minute or two passes, and May quickly hightails it back over to Ketsa before signing.
` I have to go. The abandoned store’s down the street, I’ll meet you there if you want to stay. `

Sitting down with a plop in the seat across from Ketsa, May propped her head in the sleeved palm of her hoodie herself. She seemed focused looking out the window. Silver eyes spark slightly in mild annoyance from the rain, but she seems alright for the most part. Perhaps a bit more exhausted than she initially thought due to the day seemingly stretching on longer and longer.
Tumblr media
It seemed normal, at this point.
Things didn’t exactly go too swell for her whenever she left the house. Between the rude woman in the pharmacy a few hours ago at most now, and the whispers and glances delivered to the duo in the cafe getting on her nerves, it just seemed like this was the way it would be. Nothing would change, most likely.
Even if she could talk, she’d be snapping at everyone who said anything to the bandages.
People were so .. Judgmental.
Tumblr media
Hmm.

A soft, faint hum could be heard that strained in her recovering throat. Then, a breathy chuckle left her as she lowered her head slightly. Hair covering her silver eyes, she places her hands behind her back and continues walking. No signing, no noises .. Just silence, really. Sometimes it was the best answer.
Tumblr media
May slowed to a stop as a droplet hit her nose, and that was the only warning before it began to pick up immediately. The rain pelted down on the two and she seemed a little startled at first. It was a little sudden, but her shoulders sagged a bit before she grabbed the others metal wrist with a tight grasp.
Tugging him along with her, she started them in a few steps before beginning to run. If she remembered anything about metal, rain surely wouldn’t help him keep in tact with it.
Despite her distaste for his reasons, she realized idly that some of her reasons for wanting people dead weren’t the best. Nothing bad had ever happened to her until she got jumped and stabbed in the throat a little less than a year ago. Recovery took time, but she was growing restless with not being able to speak.
Tumblr media
She had slowed the moment they hit the small little cafe down the street, the rain pelting heavily against the fabric as she breathed through her nose raggedly. Releasing his wrist, she turned to look inside and was greeted with a handful of people. A sigh puffed through her nose, and she pushed open the door as the little bell jangled above.

May’s gaze was more than likely something a bit more intimidating than what anyone could ever have been used to. Dead, empty silver eyes stare into blue as she shrugs her shoulders silently. Rubbing the bandages around her throat a tad, she signs as she scratches the soft gauze with her free hand.
` Doesn’t matter. `
Tumblr media
A pause, and she lowers her hand to rub her stomach a bit once more. Blinking softly, she peers down at the other before signing again a bit slower.
` Good kick. `
A breathy, wheezy noise left her resembling a dead laugh. She couldn’t remember the last time anyone had the chance to attack her, even if it was because of her own decision of stalking someone subtly.
Tumblr media
` We’ve met before, actually. A brief thing but I was on a hit in the square where they had a little party. I think you might have been leaving because you had your own business, but we did bump into each other. I think you called me a fucking idiot for bumping into you? `
fail–safe‌:
A silent wheeze left the lips of the figure in the dark, placing a hand on their stomach before squinting at Emma in the dark. It’s hard to register, but the gears in their head are turning before they look around for a lamp or .. or something.
Tumblr media
Doing a 360, May found a lamp and turned it on while waving her hands silently. She only really remembered Emma from a public event she’d attended briefly before shooting a blow dart into the neck of the campaign manager and booking it. Just a distraction for the main event of the party.
Well, not exactly a party, but …
Tumblr media
She’s still heavily wheezing breaths from the blow to her gut still. Heels do indeed hurt.
She huffs, single blue eye staring the other down. After a moment, she decides to sit up and look around the room in the dark. She’d been specially trained to do so, all things considered. So, instead of reaching for a lamp, her first instinct was to hide in the darkness and peek, and so she did.
Tumblr media
When the light turns on, she flinches on instinct, but the wave of the hands indicates that…this person doesn’t mean any ill-will. At least, for the moment. So, she settles, still on high alert, as was the default with her.

` I’d imagine that would only make you weaker because you felt the need to replace something that was fully capable of growing. `
Tumblr media
` I wouldn’t say that I would blame you, though. Not many people can actively keep up with exercise or have themselves in a positive state of mind. Sometimes to improve you have to die on the inside to make a change. ` May signed, eyes still dead while glaring at the other. So, he didn’t do it as an act of survival at all. Her respect for this kid went down in an instance.
Why try to improve something as weak as the human body?
There was no point. Many, many things were superior than the species altogether. Androids, animals, entities beyond their comprehension, and her ... They were all superior. She didn’t need to better herself to see that she was someone of influence. She had a small cult following on the dark web, and perhaps that was something that helped push her to continue her work.
Chemicals and projects while also providing her idle services to helping others without her fully comprehending that she was doing so. The only things she could respect were those three things, really.
Tumblr media
` Humans have always been the weakest on the link, and I wouldn’t mind getting rid of that link to make way for a new era. We’re despicable and twisted .. Between average people, politicians, influences, the wicked and everyone in between, we all deserve to rot. ` Somehow, her signing grew a little more aggressive as her fingers twitched, hand shaking slightly with the silent passion within her for fixing the world.

Something about the look he gave her, and she almost knew what exactly could’ve been his situation for when he performed. The edges of the stitches lining the metal work would’ve given it away had she focused hard enough, but even so, villains don’t need to see the fine print on things.
Tumblr media
` Blood loss is the main contributor to fevers and illnesses when performing an amputation. If you’re not  careful enough, it could be infected the moment you make your move to put the prosthetic in. ` May merely walked along side-by-side with Ketsa. Never once seeming to stare at him with distaste, but she didn’t want to mention how easy it was to tell when people were lying.
Signing or not, it was all in the expression.
That was how she was able to figure most people out, and with her silence it made her focus on those specific things more on point. She could read people like an open book, and that was truly what made her a dangerous person. Looking at posture, she could tell if someone had back or spinal issues, maybe a tail bone injury based on the way they hunched. Creaky neck, stiff jaw, and other things also contributed to that.
She’s had a lot of time to assess those things in her free time within the bunker.
Tumblr media
` If you want to tell me the truth, you can. I’ve done some things in my past that weren’t the brightest. Was it for the aesthetic? I’ve met a few people in my time who’ve done something similar. Of course, I was the one who did the prosthetic and all but, you know. `

A nod of her head at the small question from the other is registered, and she walks out of the pharmacy alongside the other. He looked younger than her if anything, and May wasn’t always one to pry with those sorts of things.
She’d keep it to herself for now, at least.
Tumblr media
` Was it that obvious? `
Pausing briefly while walking, she made a small gesture for something in the middle. She was curious, but also not overwhelmingly so that she’d shove questions down his throat about his arm.
` I think the work on it's superb. I really am in no position to judge you if you had to do something to keep from death. It’s good survival skills and a swift thought process to be able to do something such as that. ` She explains in sign, hands working swiftly when she needed both of them for a certain sign, and eventually she tilts her head up to peer at the sky.
Tumblr media
` I’ve done larger projects before, of course. Though, those aren’t for strangers. No offense. `

Tumblr media
Fixing her sneakers on her feet, she taps the tips of them on the concrete of the sidewalk before stretching her legs themselves. Bones creaking a bit in her body, she hisses slightly as the marks stretched under her clothes uncomfortably. It stung, but it also was inevitable.
There were important things she needed to worry about, nothing like this.
Even though she was a hardcore introvert, she couldn’t help but go stir crazy herself in that bunker. As busy as she was, she still wanted to get exercise and stay relatively healthy. She’d be going to the edge of the city to the little trail leading into the woods. First, a bus, she thought to herself. She’d need to take the public transport system.
Tumblr media
The close proximity of everybody in such a tight space ... Not incredibly appealing, but she’d rather not be caught walking nearly 5 miles through one of the biggest cities of this day and age. Especially not with how creaky her muscles and bones are at the given moment.
When she got to the trail, she would need to stretch then jog. It was just to be safe, really. There weren’t too many things she was concerned with about herself, but even so ...
After the hike, she’d need to go to the convenient store. Nails, screws, tape, rope, staples, and some more gel pens were in order for the bunker. She liked to buy things in bulk, and as surprising as it was, she worked her own job that brought in plenty of money. Not as legal as she was hoping, but it for sure gave her the proper experience with her own chemicals.
Tumblr media
Between going through with small hits for large sums of money to selling the chemicals she had in dozens for personal use by others throughout the world. All through the dark web, of course. Her custom laptop only logged into there and google to look up the basics. Clicking her tongue slightly at the rush of thoughts through her head, she dragged herself to begin moving forwards.
She’s headed for the bus stop, now.

A small nod is given to him, and she fixes her jacket before looking at the door of the pharmacy. Considering her options, she shrugs before looking back at him to reply.
Tumblr media
` Is it alright if I walk with you? I need to go to the convenience store next, anyways. ` Very rarely did she ever do this, but May thought it was high time she played pretend for this suspicious boy.
She was interested, of course. Not in him, but more of his story than anything. She’d love to figure out how he made his arm, the mechanical bits and pieces had her gaze shifting from one bit to the next. Not in a judging manner, but an assessing one. Curiosity glimmers in her dead gaze, and she tilts her head to the side. A silent question at either him or herself, and she moves to go towards the entrance.
Tumblr media
Silently, to herself in the doorway, she seems a little bit more than eager to gain knowledge of this mans arm.
Enthusiastically clutching her fists, she excitedly kept her hands in front of her hoodie clad chest. Then, with a inhale, she peers over her shoulder at him before glancing back out the door.

Read the instructions, use the tools .. This was beginning to turn more and more into a hard project than an easy one.
IKEA was damn near impossible to figure out, and even May could understand why. This was basically hell on Earth! Losing small pieces like the screws for the legs of the new desk or misplacing a tool from her own set, it was beginning to make her anger bubble in her chest.
Why was she doing this without even bothering with her medication? She couldn’t even answer that question herself, I’m afraid.
Tumblr media
May’s between the mood of “I’m going to fucking kill every single person in this room.” to “God, I want a nap.” from how exhausting the day had already been. After having gotten her medication yesterday morning, she ended up staying up all night working on various things. The bulletin board was beginning to grow more and more clustered as time went by. Little ideas and plots that she was planning on doing for the world.
Lifting her head idly when one of the androids began shifting about the little kitchen she had. More so just organizing things, as she’d come to realize some of them were very obviously “butlers” or “waitresses” .. Such mundane tasks taken over by the fascinating entities. She `loved` them. In her own way, anyways.
The click of the coffee pot turning on and the sounds of brewing, the android wandered out of the kitchen to look down at May. They spent a few seconds staring at each other, then May stood up and stretched. A wheezy noise leaving her as she hunches over while standing.
Tumblr media
Raising a hand while the other continued to stare idly, she signed with a stressed expression on her features.
` Do you know how to finish this stupid thing? `
None of them really talked, either. Not around her, anyways. They picked up on the bandages quickly, and assessed the damages before opting to just be as silent as her until their last days where they’d decided to skedaddle on out of the bunker to find their own calling.
` Yes. I can finish it, okay? ` They signed, a smile on their features as May furrowed her brows from exhaustion: Mental and physical.
Shoulders sagging a bit, she slowly manages a nod before turning to go into the kitchen herself. Sitting down at the little table in the middle of the room, she sat down and let out a small, breathy sigh. Between frustration and being tired to hell and back, she wasn’t sure what to do. She was aware that she’d need to inevitably sleep because otherwise she’d pass out during the day.
The last time she’d done such a thing she hit her head on the counter and snoozed with a bleeding nose on the concrete floor of the bunker in the kitchen. There was still a small scuff mark on the counter from when she’d done so, too.
Tumblr media
Tapping her nail tips on the table as an idle tick, she rests her cheek against her arm and focuses on the little noises that left the collision of her fingertip and the wooden table.
There were a few basic things she needed to take care of tomorrow in the morning. Food, of course, was one of those things. She’d need the essentials: Milk, eggs, bread, pasta noodles, some sauce .. A few extra things such as rice and cake mix, she decided that she’d more than likely pamper herself a bit when the android in her bunker eventually left.
They couldn’t eat, but it did make her a little uncomfortable when they sat and watched her until her plate was clean. It was also a little weird when they tried giving her tips on her own cooking, but she never listened.
Tumblr media
The longer she sat in the chair, the sleepier she grew. The bags under her eyes more prominent than they were a week ago, and she struggled to keep her eyes open. It had been what - 12 days without good sleep? It was all at her own hand and her own habits, but regardless it was still bothersome.
Well, she might as well ... The desk would surely be done when she was finished, there’d be coffee in the pot, and she’d be a little better when she got up to do her business around the bunker.
Tumblr media
Maybe just for a few hours ..
