[image description: a series of monochrome lineart MS paint drawings with accompanying text.
1: the art shows rapunzel, depicted with long black hair, in an overgrown room timidly looking out the window. the text reads "after who she thought was her mother had passed, Rapunzel found solace in hiding in the castle. immobilizing herself because it was the only comfort she knew.
as the years grew, the castle decayed and her golden hair darkened to a pitch black.
she accepted her fate as the castle's heart and was willing to rot away with it."
2. rapunzel is shown with her eyes closed calmly and a soft smile, hands held together over her chest which is covered by a big star. text reads "on Rapunzel's 43rd birthday, she dreamt in vibrant shades of freedom
awoken with glowing strands of silver hair that were much stronger than the black or golden could have ever been." the silver hair is illustrated in the drawing of her.
another drawing on the same page shows rapunzel climbing down her hair out of the tower, text continues "her mother had it cemented in her head how much the outside world is evil. but Rapunzel had a glow in her heart, something she had never felt before. she couldn't wait anymore. and without thinking of it, she casted her silver glowing hair out of the castle and rode it down like a rope.
for there was nothing left for her anyways."
3: rapunzel sits serenely with a deer, mouse, snake, and several butterflies and flowers. text reads "she spent new days in the golden sun and white moonlight surrounded by animals that took her as family and nature that nurtured her hurt inside
she had a home outside after all". end description.]

Matching Donations Up To 250 USD For eSIMs For Gaza
Connecting Humanity does the extremely important work of providing eSIMs to people in Gaza so they can communicate with other people in Gaza and around the world. They give eSIMs to medical professionals, journalists, workers, families, children, students, and people documenting the genocide.
You can learn more about Connecting Humanity here.
If you donate and reblog this with or message to me a screenshot of the confirmation, I will donate the same amount that you donated up til a collective total of 250 USD. I'll post proof of this here too!
I would also like to note that it's recommended that you donate money instead of eSIMs because Connecting Humanity is able to buy eSIMs at lower prices than we are.
You can donate to Connecting Humanity and join the donation match by clicking here. If you're unable to donate directly to Connecting Humanity, Crips for eSims for Gaza also has a Chuffed page you can donate to or the details of someone you can Venmo the payment to. Whichever option you use is fine - as long as you show some sort of proof I'll match the donation!
Thank you so much for your consideration!

According to [one writer], Elizabeth Barrett Browning lived in a world in which there were two paths for well-off headstrong women who actively resented their role in the Victorian household: those who 'cast off their protective colouring and stood out boldly against the background like vulnerable animals to be sniped at,' and those who 'used it, took cover in illness.' '[Elizabeth Barrett Browning] chose the second way, although unconsciously... It enabled her to opt out of the feminine role her age and position in the household demanded of her: now she need take no hand ordering it, for fear of over-fatigue, nor in sewing or embroidery, which she hated. Music, French, Italian, a little singing, were available: she could now choose what she wanted and discard the rest.' Here is the myth, born and sustained - that to be ill is to hide, to crouch rather than stand (up or out), which would be the better path, the braver, riskier path, even if it left you worse off; the myth that to be inexplicably ill and dependent on the care and support of others is a choice, a way of getting out of what you don't want to do, a choice that clever, deceitful young women make for themselves. The idea that being ill means 'taking to bed,' that it is a choice, that it is decadent, excessive and privileged, that it is connected with the sanguineous temperament rather than a health problem, that it is weak or lazy and therefore unworthy of help, that it is the result of giving up or doing too much, that it is a 'way out,' that chronic illness is enabled by an over-bearing mother - these are cultural myths that confine some women inside and shut others off from legitimate illness experiences. This is what is referred to when we are told: It must be nice to spend all day in bed. It sounds like a choice rather than a necessity; it sounds like only something wealthy white privileged people can do. The myth of the fragile white woman or girl who takes to her bed harms everyone with a chronic illness; those whose experience is narrativized in this way, and those who are denied access to it, namely people in minority racial and ethnic groups, who are far more likely to experience misdiagnosis and medical neglect and are also more likely to have ME/CFS.

for people who live in aotearoa: there's been a campaign set up by NZ all out for gaza (instagram | facebook) to collect signatures from people in each electorate on a letter that will then be sent to the electorate MP, asking the MP to support chlöe swarbrick's unlawful occupation of palestine sanctions bill. signing is easy, you just put in your electorate and then you can see the letter that'll be sent to your MP and put in your name and email to sign it. this is mostly necessary for the national, act, and NZ first MPs, as the other parties are already supporting the bill (though of course it won't be harmful to let them know you're glad they're doing so). the letter for my local MP only has 18 signatures so far, so every signature counts! please sign and share with people you know/on your social media if you can ^-^

if you live in aotearoa and you haven't made a submission on the regulatory standards bill please consider doing so!
here is a link tree with a bunch of articles, information, and resources, and a google doc that i think is particularly helpful (if you don't know where to start, try the google doc).
you can submit your thoughts to the select committee here until 1pm 23 june NZST.
if you're not up for writing much even just saying you oppose it and giving a single sentence reason why is great! could be related to it breaching te tiriti, worsening greenhouse gas emissions, lack of environmental protections, prioritisation of profit for the wealthy over public interest and safety, ignoring of inequality and the necessity of equity based policies, or the financial cost of compensating companies for lost profits and the effects that would have on tax rates and funding for public services.
