Haiku video
This video was created using a mix of footage taken at the Eden project and older footage I had filmed before I leaving home for university
The focus on flowing water was done to represent the always moving but never changing aspect of nature that's expressed in the haiku
You can try to stop a river but the water will always find a way to keep flowing

Week three

Week three had focus on cinematography and editing with a introduction to the basics of adobe premiere and a screening of the film "Birdman" which was shot and edited to make it appear as if it was one long take.
the tutorial into adobe premiere was primarily focused on setting up the software to ensure everything is in perfect working order before any actual editing can be done, such as file location, setting up bins before dumping footage, etc
we also had another super 8 demonstration from director Mark Jenkins which included the operation of a light meter to avoid over exposing film and everyone in the group capturing footage with a super 8 camera to be developed at a later date

Eden project visit

The Eden project trip was used as an opportunity to allow us to work with the school of film and television's supply of DSLR cameras and learn how to operate them for when we need to use them in the future.
I operated the camera with my chosen group of people and able to collect footage that I intend to use in my haiku video.

it was also a rare opportunity to capture the unique mix of the natural and manmade worlds that the Eden project showcases.

Week one

the first week was all about adjusting to the foundation year as well as being given our first piece of course work which was to make a short video out of a haiku of our choice.
we were also given a demonstration of super 8mm film by acclaimed director Mark Jenkins along with a film he produced with super 8 called BAIT
Innovation: get exposed to new parts of the film making process I have not previously experienced through super 8
research: began looking into haikus through scans of books and collections uploaded to YouTube to find one or get inspiration to create one that I can turn into a short video
collaboration: got aquatinted with the other people on the course
