We're trying things with the Switch 2 that we probably shouldn't do!
We'll also try things out on the original Switch that is equally inadvisable, but we must know the truth!
Let us know what you want to see, and we will do our best to provide.

We play the downloadable "game" that many think should have been a pack-in title, and judge it accordingly.
Lots of previous Nintendo consoles have included games or game demos โ€” digital pack-ins such as Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch 2 notwithstanding. Wii had Wii Sports which people played for years afterward, and Wii U had NintendoLand, which was a collection of entertaining mini games that admittedly weren't played much after launch. And, to be fair, Nintendo Switch didn't come with anything at all, but the Breath of the Wild: Special Edition almost made it feel as though it did.
Welcome Tour is much more than a digital pamphlet, but where does it fall between Wii Sports NintendoLand? Let's find out.

Microsoft has made good on its 2013 promise to end physical media. Will this digital-only ethos spread to other consoles?
New Xbox Series X consoles don't have discs. New Xbox consoles aren't even Xboxes. Or Consoles.
(This is what had us worried that Switch 2 might not support its own cartridges, and just had the slot for Nintendo Switch backward compatibility.)

We got close before, but now it's time to finish the fight.
Sean faced off against Dracula at the end of last week's installment, but after finally defeating his first form, the second proved to be too much of a challenge for the time remaining! We've done some research, and are back armed with more tips as to how to vanquish the prince of darkness.

We continue Simon's quest to defeat Dracula. Wait, that sounds like another game...
Sean's never played Castlevania to completion before, but we got pretty far when we last played. Can we take it to the end this time?

Let's break out some cool tunes and flex our creative muscles!
The revelation of a Nintendo Switch 2 mouse had us reminiscing about older Nintendo games that used mouse peripherals, but chief among them is childhood favorite Mario Paint. While working on our latest video, we got to reacquaint ourselves with all the ins and outs of this game, and remembered (almost a decade later) how this user interface was lovingly revived on Super Mario Maker for Wii U.

It's a classic, but Sean has never played it! We didn't pick up the Nintendo Switch remake, but fortunately the original was one of the 21 games included on the Super NES Classic Edition, which is how we'll play it today with special guest Reanna Reid-Lobatto โ€” artist, anime fan, and other half of friend of the show Miles Reid-Lobatto!

With Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon, let's take a look back at how the series all began.
Before they became decades-long franchises, games like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid excelled at showing a new generation of gamers how versatile the Nintendo Entertainment System (and the original Famicom) could be. Mario platformed, and Link adventured, but Samus did both, and created a moody atmosphere that its many sequels continue to deepen an attempt to recapture.
The password system programmed into the NES version is also an interesting strength of this variation of the game. The original Famicom version was programmed for the Famicom Disk System, and featured a save screen just like Zelda and other Famicom Disk System titles. Lacking a battery backup like the Zelda cartridge, gamers could use long passwords to save their progress, but also hack the game into scenarios that would not be possible on the disk system original. The JUSTIN BAILEY code is well known, but there are so many others.
Our focus will be on playing the game as designed, but we will explore the options that passwords can give us, as well as compare to Metroid: Zero Mission on Game Boy Advance as time allows.

It was Wily all along! And he's stolen Gamma! Whatever that is...
We defeated all the robot masters, but now we're facing down the Mega Man 2 enemies in new bodies before we can get to Dr. Wily. Can Sean face this threat alone? Seeing as how much he talked up how "easy" this game was compared to other Mega Man games in the series, he'd better!

Come with us (and Mike Jones) to explore C-Island!
StarTropics is one of those rare Nintendo-developed games that was made specifically for the NES and never intended to be released for the Famicom in Japan. One half RPG like Final Fantasy, and one half action-adventure like Zelda, StarTropics sees Mike off to rescue his uncle โ€œDr. Jโ€ in the islands of the south pacific.
We've never played it this game before, but it was chosen by our Patreon Producers, and they havenโ€™t steered us wrong yet!

Sean brings on a Mega Man expert to train his game.
We have four robot masters to go, and then Wily's Castle. Will special guest and Mega Man expert Cele be able to help us get through them all before the end of the stream?

Out of This World, originally released as Another World, was a game unique among its 16-bit peers in the early 1990s: a cinematic experience with amazing graphics and music on game consoles and consumer computer platforms with a minimalist design to match, but brutal consequences for failure. If you were like us, you were hooked and wanted more. If youโ€™re not like us, then it enraged you. And we're going to play it!

Are we getting a Mario Paint sequel on Nintendo Switch 2?
Every Nintendo console needs a new gimmick, and with a console called "Switch 2" it wasn't immediately obvious how they would move the needle this time. With the now-confirmed mouse functionality, Nintendo could offer several supporting games from its back catalog through Nintendo Switch Online, while also returning functionality to its Switch ports of Wii U games that had to be removed for want of a GamePad touch screen.
Will we see Mario Paint make a comeback, or will the gameplay be folded into other existing or new iterations of other titles such as Super Mario Maker that already feature that Mario Paint verve?
