After getting high and watching clips of Iraq War movies until 4am, I've come to the conclusion that the thing they most remind me of is Civil War Lost Cause propaganda

#At first I was expecting the reveal to be that the anime the parent picked was something sexual#Then as soon as they said it was about ''really little kids that play together'' it clicked for me what the anime was#Anyway I would also warn against showing your children the Promised Neverland anime#Not because it's violent just because they botched season 2 by trying to cram in the last 80% of the manga into 10 episodes#I don't remember the manga being too extreme for a kid. Maybe not real little kids but if I'd read it when I was in 12 I'd have been fine#Honestly reading it in my twenties probably messed me up more because I'm a lot more sensitive to children in danger now#Because back then seeing kids my age in scary situations my reaction was just ''rip to those kids but I'm built different''#Probably don't follow my advice though because I haven't actually read it in years so it might be worse than I remember#and also because reading the Death-T arc of Yugioh when I was 7 permanently threw off my perception of what anime arn't appropriate for kid
