Okay, so there's already a Mario ROM hack, right? (Where you play as Mario, catch Mario enemies and battle them.) There's also multiple anime-based ROMs, a mlp ROM, and a Sonic ROM.

Cool... but what if there was a ROM for Resident Evil?

Imagine: Starting as a random, nameable player character and partnering with one of the RE protagonists. Going onto some island where Umbrella corp has been hiding out and doing experiments on all the old enemies, reviving some as clones, and other mad shit.

Going on this island, you come across a clone of Dr William Berkin. The first battle is with this clone, after he realizes you and your partner are against Umbrella. When you beat him, he injects himself with the T-virus as a last resort, triggering a second battle against his mutated form, and when you win, he runs off. There you meet Ada Wong, your 'rival'.

Random misc ideas:

Characters in this ROM that are canonically dead in RE are clones of those characters grown in Umbrella's labs.

The 'gym leader' and other labels are just mechanics. There are obviously no actual gym leaders in the ROMs lore, lol.

Each 'trainer' NPC has only a max of five mutants, with the sixth slot being themselves.

Catching lore-wise is because of a new experimental strain of the Las Plagas. Each mutant/clone on the island is infected with the submissive or dominant strain. This experimental strain lets the afflicted keep their mental faculties, personality, and all. The only difference is that the dominant strain that 'catches' them can control them. 'Throwing a pokeball' is your plagas attempting to connect with the encounter's, and connecting is 'catching' them, putting them under your control.

The player and your partner get infected with the respective Plagas either before or after the initial Berkin fight.

The 'Gym Leaders' are just people who have something needed to progress deeper into the island. The Elite four members are people who have puzzle pieces needed to get into the secret lab. Adam Wesker is the final boss. If you beat Adam, you end up escaping the island, your mission complete.

Maybe it depends on your starter, and the unchosen will be an encounter, instead?) -Medicinal herb = Potion (Color = strength of potion) -Medicinal spray = Full heal -Fish/Egg = Berries -Revive = Ink Ribbons -Pokeballs of all kinds = Plagas Spores/Injectors(?)

Static Encounters: (Only one of each is available, they can't be found/caught otherwise.) 'That Dog' - only shows up if Leon is chosen as your partner, can be found in a hidden grotto area - ability: Guard dog. Carlos Oliveira - only shows up if Jill is chosen as your partner - ability: ??? Mia Winters - only shows up if Ethan is chosen as your partner - ability: Poison point. Luis Serra - Shows up regardless of partner chosen. Starts as NPC but can be caught around the mid-point of the story - ability: Rattled Regina - Special easter egg character, the main character from Dino crisis. You get her by finding a 'Dino crisis' disc and using it on a machine, like reviving a fossil pokemon. - ability: Rock head.

Actor Johnathan Joss was just murdered for being gay. On the first day of pride 2025. He was best known for playing John Redcorn on King of the Hill.

I had no idea he was gay but he was married to a man named Tristan Kern de Gonzales (on valentines day 2025!)

They lived in San Antonio Texas where his family is from and he grew up. He was 59.

characters joining the mcu etc is the equivalent of watching them get body snatched they will never be the same. you can say "but that's nothing like how they are in the comics" but when you turn around to show them it's too late they've already been rewritten to align w the movies

The power of love reforms the villain trope, except it's not romantic love, it's platonic love/familial love.

True love, but it's true platonic or familial love.

'Love will break the curse', except the characters are convinced it's romantic love, until the cursed individual adopts an abandoned dog.

Runaway betrothed trope, except instead of running away with their true love, the betrothed ran away with their friend/sibling, who didn't want to see them in a loveless marriage.

Rescue the princess trope, except instead of wanting to marry her, the prince of the faraway land only wants to help someone in need, and doesn't desire her.

Just nonsexual and nonromantic love being treated as just as important and meaningful as romantic love.

I am spoiling the live action Lilo & Stitch. And I am doing it up front and plainly.

Do not fucking see this movie. Do not waste your money on this. Period.

They made Nani give Lilo up to the American government. They made Nani LEAVE Hawaii and pursue being a marine biologist. They made a native Hawaiian character give up her sibling to pursue a dream that she originally did not have. This is imperialist propaganda at its FINEST.

The original fucking movie is about family staying together. It's about indigenous people being able to stay with each other and stay in their home and be together! That's the whole fucking point! Nani is Lilo's last living relative on her homeland—it is jarring, it is disgusting and disturbing that Nani would not only leave her last blood relative alone, give her up to the very government that is harming native Hawaiians TODAY, but also travel to the "mainland" for her dream!

Not to mention, Nani's actress isn't fucking Hawaiian. She's much paler in photos and real life. They fucking darkened her for this movie.

Don't even get me started on the transgender subtext of Pleakley's "human" disguise from the original movie being completely erased in favor of him being played by a regular ass white man. Jumba doesn't have his accent, they made him more villainous, and his "human" disguise is a non-fat white man—which part of his original joke, I know, is that he was bigger and was more clumsy in the movie because of his size, but to have the main shape of his character completely removed is also fucking weird.

This live action movie is a desecration to the original. I encourage you to not see it, please. Don't give Disney any of your money on this one. Just watch the original. Please just watch the original.

Using the novelization of movies as evidence for something in the movie itself is really stupid.

Mainly, I'm saying this because the writer of the novelization is often a different person, who is tasked with 'expanding' on the source in their own way. Sometimes given early versions of the script to work off of, which were already scrapped for one reason or another.

So, the writer of the novelization will have a different interpretation of the story/characters than the original writers, and the movie's ideas and entire point may end up getting muddled and overshadowed by the biases and perspective of the novelization's writer.

So, to me, novelizations of movies/tv shows are far more like remakes, not bonus scenes. It follows the same formula, but it's not the same. So it makes no sense to use them as evidence for something in the original movie, whether it be about character, plot, or worldbuilding.

Same with movie-tie in video games, etc. People don't use those as 'evidence' from what I've seen, but I've seen people use movie novelizations as evidence, and it bothers the hell out of me.

Headcanon idea: Loki is the secret affair child of Frigga and Laufey.

No Jotun we ever saw in the MCU had hair, right? But Hela has black hair, just like Loki has, and has a familial resemblance to Loki, despite apparently not being related to them, but supposedly being related to Thor, who looks nothing like her. We're also never given a potential 'mother' option in the movies, so there's nothing to say this might not have been the case. Frigga and Loki also have a resemblance to each other, which also strengthens the idea, imo.

My theory basically turns Loki from the adopted child, to the half sibling of both Thor and Hela, and the product of a secret interspecies affair that the royal family is trying to cover up. Coming up with the idea of an 'adoption' as a last-resort explanation in case Loki's Jotun heritage ever came to light. (Basically throwing Loki under the bus for being related to a race demonized in Asgard.)

Odin resents Loki (And somewhat resents Frigga, explaining why we never see them interacting outside of Odin commanding Frigga to 'leave' at the beginning of Thor Dark World.) for being the product of his wife's affair and the son of his enemy, thus why he's so distant from them.

I think, if we ignore the bias and retcon-filled phase 4 (Like we should), it also explains why Loki might be smaller than most Jotuns. It's because Loki isn't a full-blooded Jotun, Loki is a half-Jotun. (Which explains why Loki can learn Asgardian magic when we've gotten no indication Jotuns can do so, etc.)

I dunno, this theory came to mind and I wanted to share, lol.

Maybe I'm just jaded from Pokemon disappointing me, but I genuinely don't think Legends Z-A is going to do anything fun with the starters.

In fact, I don't think they'll do any new megas at all. No new megas, no regional forms. I will genuinely even be surprised if they decide to give Chikorita the fairy type, like some people are speculating.

I also feel like reigonal forms won't happen partially because it doesn't make sense. X and Y didn't have regional forms, after all, and Z-A is taking place after X and Y. Not even that far into the future, by the looks of it.

I feel like it'll just be a blander Legends Arceus, personally. If even that.

I hope I'm wrong, but that's where my head is at right now.
