i saw THIS (left) reference on pinterest (i am unsure who the original artist is but once i find out i will update this post) and knew i had to do something with it and then i just kinda went ham after making the drawing on the right

i think getting caught in traffic lights and power lines would drive the man crazy, right? idk theres probably a metaphor i could make about him feeling angry and trapped by the watchers and the games being an ironic little outlet he ends up trapped in as well grian minecraft my muse....

Hermit Hurt/Comfort

“I thought I might find you here.” Xisuma says landing on the end island. A young avian sat, nestled by a large chorus plant. He sighs.

“If you wish to kick me out, just say it now.” The man says for the Voidwalker to step back.

“Kick you out?” He chuckles, “What over a little spat like that? Please.” He sits beside the avian. “I’ve seen Doc and Cleo go at it for an hour before and that fight got physical even.” There’s a pause.

“But, um, something tells me that your outburst had less to do with the argument at hand and more to do with something a bit more . . . personal, perhaps?” The red sweatered bird sighs again.

“Pardon my saying so Grian, but you’ve seemed a bit more sensitive today. What with not joining in on Scar’s teasing, being defensive about your wings, and it may have just been me, but I thought I saw you tearing up when Keralis gave you that shulker box of jungle wood.” X pauses, “Is something wrong, Grian? I’d like to help if there is.” The avian takes a big breath, before slowly pulling out a photo.

“Today is the day that I left Evo.” Grian explains showing X the photo.

It was an old one of a younger Grian having gotten a canary avian in a headlock, ruffling the pour boy's hair as the younger protested. A magpie avian appeared to have jumped on Grian's back, ruffling his hair and laughing while a purple martin yelled at the three from the doorway of an ice cream shoppe.

“The day I went with the Watchers and left behind my friends and. . .” Grian gulps, “and siblings.” Xisuma looks at him.

“I thought they’d be fine. . . Find a way out of the endless loop. . . at least that was my hope.” Grian breathes, “Months past where I was unknowledgeable of their whereabouts. Even though I did ask. . . it took months before I found out what had happened.” His hands clench at his trousers.

“Evo was destroyed, X. All remnants lost and . . . . I don’t– I don’t know– when I seen Mumbo fighting with False– it just— Broke me. I mean,” G blinks back tears, turning his head away, “He’s lucky you know? To have her here. Meanwhile, I. . . . . . I don’t even know if my siblings are alive.”

X looked at the avian as his heart cracked. He lifts a hand but hesitates to place it on the younger man. His lips part to say something but no words could even come to his mind, let alone out of his mouth. His hand slowly makes its way to Grian’s shoulder before gently pulling the avian into a gentle embrace. He gave a slight squeeze, as a promise formed in his mind.

He didn’t know how he’d manage, and he’d may have to scour the whole void, but one way or another, he would find them. . . for G.

As you all can probably tell, I'm not participating in Hermit-A-Day-May this year. Unfortunately, my schedule wouldn't allow it, but I do have something in the works and will hopefully be able to show it at the end of the month. Until then hope you enjoyed this story.
