Afro-danish artist Farida Mimi has finally found her sound! For a long time Farida Mimi was missing a huge part of her personality in her music and that was the sound and feeling of HOME. It feels natural and none on this side of heaven can say they cannot dance to afrobeat. Over the last few years Afrobeat has traveled the world and become the sound for what Farida Mimi believes for everything. It’s THE vibe. The combination of modern sounds, highlife and traditional west-African sounds is the perfect match!

Having to deal with a lot of heartbreak, mental and physical changes between 2019 and till very beginning of 2022 God blessed her with a year of peace and solitude and she has finally understood that trusting in Him is the only way of life she needs. Still using her voice as a way to celebrate and worship God she felt drawn to her roots chosing to create more afro-gospel. With this song, Farida Mimi gives God the glory, for teaching and showing her who He really is and what wonderful things that comes with being a child of God.

Farida Mimi is 27 years old. Born in Accra, Ghana then moved to Denmark at the age of 1 and a half. She now lives in Aarhus, married and has two beautiful girls.

15.7.22 *long caption ahead* After my first album Epic LoveStories I was met with the big question “What now?” I put so much energy in the songs for the album due to the trauma and experience I had prior to the album release. I wanted to prove to some and especially myself that it was possible for me to make music. To make music that could light up a rather difficult period of my life. Doing this was very therapeutic and all I needed. After it’s release I knew I wanted to put that chapter to rest and start anew. I knew I wanted to make encouraging/gospel music. But where and how to start was difficult to decide. Anyone who knows me well, will agree to the fact that I like things planned out and be apart of a “bigger picture”. There’s always more to what meets the eye and I’ll stand by this till I no longer live on this earth. A sister of mine said that “Gone With the Wind” from the album was giving Lauren Hill vibes and that completely hyped me as I am a huge fan of Ms. Hill. This pushed to explore the art of rapping. And mind you, I am NOT a rapper. Singing is my passion. But as they say, any singer can rap and so I tried it out. I then began to explore and play with rapping and mixing words. Rapping fast and rapping slow. To be completely honest, rapping makes me feel like I’m IT LOL. It was truly a fun experience. We then decided to create a whole project around me rapping encouraging music. Some of the tracks are nothing close to what you would expect from me. So I’ll keep them to myself for now. But as mentioned earlier there’s always more to what meets the eyes, so maybe one day I’ll feel comfortable enough to show that part of myself through music. Nonetheless, this song was mostly written to me. All the things a say in the song are words I speak to myself daily and as I working with the song I realized I couldn’t keep it to myself… So if you ever feel low, like nothings going your way or just need a pick me up.
