the thought is fleeting. drowned out by music. she'd turned it up just moments before.

the sounds of juke box hero had interrupted their argument. if you could even call it an argument at this point. it was the same uncomfortable conversation they always had. ---she didn't need him to protect her--- he needed her to get over it and accept that he didn't get hurt the same way. it was no different from a 'normal' couple's argument regarding chores at this point. it was an argument she wasn't afraid of interrupting.

her knees are turned away from him. pressing into the van's door as she makes a point to look out the window;; purposefully letting the tension fizzle out.

---she's was content to do that for awhile. until fingers find her knee, and artemis' gaze begrudgingly is thrown back towards him. his eyes are trained on the road still, something that makes her own roll as they trail up her thigh. her legs spread for him without a word. breath releasing in a huff as grant's fingers find the apex of her thighs.

it doesn't take long for her breathing to get heavy. as fingers press hard against the bundle of nerves covered by spandex.

bastard.

the word, once again, trails through her thoughts. affectionately, this time. it only takes a minute of his teasing for her to be chewing on her bottom lip. her own fingers reaching over to turn down the guitar solo.
