Historically religious cathedrals were designed to make the individual feel insignificant in relation to their beliefs, to make one feel small. This is the way I feel about running on rainy days. It's an involuntary reaction to sink away from the falling rain, to try to shrink into the cover of one's jacket. But, with all this rain, I find myself grudgingly getting used to the church of rain, the unavoidable nature of it soaking me up and taking waterlogged to the end of run where the occasional rainbow means a momentary reprieve from the norm.
