it feels wrong putting Dagon on the same team as Nanami (sorry Nanami 😭) but Dagon is fun and very strong!! :D also yikes he's huge lmao
this is so funny, I love that we have Yuuji being adorable and there's Dagon just standing there... menacingly skjasnbda
I feel like it's a pantomime and we should all be yelling He's behind youuu!!!
also this just makes me laugh, I love how his mouth tentacles move when he speaks :'D like a very grumpy tentacle door
#i love him lol#I should be mad at him - he's the reason Nanami lost an eye 😭#but like Jogo... i can't bring myself to be completely mad at him haha#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#jenji plays#jjk phantom parade#phantom parade#dagon#jujutsu kaisen phantom parade

something about nanami that is sooo meaningful to me is that he illustrates the failure of dreams. choice is obviously a major theme in his character (the choice between sorcery and 'real life', between one evil and another), but he ends up choosing the option that doesn't lead him to his dream. malaysia is his single and very specific idea of a life that he could be happy in (as someone who, for at least a period of time, had no clear 'reason for living' besides that life). but the process of achieving that dream was suffering another decade in a job that he hated, a life that was unfulfilling, so he has to give it up. and there's a sort of existential dread that comes with that: actively letting go of a dream that you've had for years, and having to live with yourself for making that decision. the ghost of that dream - what could have been - remains with him for the rest of his life. nanami contradicts the trope (and capitalist ideal?) that 'if you work hard you'll achieve your dreams', that you should never give up if you want to succeed. life doesn't always work out like that: things go wrong, we make the wrong choices, we have to give it up as a lost cause. hard work also leads to disillusionment and burn out. sometimes you don't make it to malaysia and sometimes you have to be the one to decide that you're not going to get there
