Seriously, I have been overwhelmed at every turn by how hard the loss of this character has slapped me in the face. I have genuinely never been this insane about a character in my life.

Adar refusing his elven form in order to stay w his children, only to immediately get killed by them because they thought he didn't love them *sobs*

Adar's little music motif changing into a gentler elvish version of it when he has Nenya...Bear, I hate you and I love you, you bastard.

Final thoughts ig (no imma keep thinking about them!!)

The last Adariel scene we got screams romance. So much tension from the start, with their last conversation having such a soft conclusion. In the end, Adar realized that her power and light are not for him to covet, and gave her the ring back (in a very soft proposal, if ya ask me) and I just love that dynamic for this hero-villain pairing.

I love that Sam Hazeldine also considered Adar and Galadriel’s relationship having a thin line between romantic and wanting to kill each other which is the perfect recipe for some spicy tension.
