Count to Three…update?

Hello!! I have received a few comments and messages on both here and AO3 about the future of Count to Three and if I will ever finish it?

The short answer: YES, OF COURSE! 150%!

Long answer/excuse: I underestimated how long of a hiatus I would have between chapters or I would have made a bigger warning! My real life job gets crazy busy every couple of months, like I have mentioned in the past, but this time it got a liiiiiittle bit more so than usual. Sometimes I get moved around the country or sometimes out of country if needed for a few months. BUT this time I was moved to a different time zone not once…but twice, and for almost half a year! So internet access and down time was alllllmost at a big fat zero.

Count to Three will be finished though! I promise! I get back home at the beginning of August and I have nothing planned as of now to be placed on another out of state/country job for at least a year. So, I should be back to writing normally with monthly updates! But also, please keep in mind if a job does come up, my updates will be far and few between. 💜

Working (slowly) on chapter Sixteen! It still has quite a bit of work to go, but I figured I should post the finished chapter cover and a little sneak peek of the next chapter for now!!

“Got the goods?” Seokjin’s voice was hushed and laced with faux seriousness. But Yoongi knew his older friend better than anyone and instantly picked up the mirth in his tone. The shorter alpha cocked one dark brow and cracked an eye. He scanned the profile of the older alpha next to him and shook his head, dumbfounded. 

Seokjin was wearing large, dark sunglasses that took up most of his face, a baseball cap and a long coat with the collar pulled up high over his face. 

“You’re an idiot.”

“Shh, not so loud! I don’t do this often; I can’t risk getting caught.” Seokjin dramatically turned his head in multiple directions, pretending to scan outside of the heavily tinted car windows. “Do you have the goods or not? I only brought large bills, so hopefully that doesn’t look too suspicious…”

“I’m not playing along with you, hyung.”

“Uh! Common…” Jin dragged out his words with a pout.

“Hyung, I’m not Taehyung. I’m not going to roll play with you.” The white-haired alpha crossed his arms when Jin batted his big brown eyes at him over his sunglasses. “No, the answer is…no,” the alpha sighed as he pinched the soft bridge of his nose. “You know what the deal was. I bring the goods, you bring the information. Your cash does no good here.” Yoongi’s voice was monotone, but Jin still lit up with joy, the taller alpha practically buzzing in the seat next to him.

Seokjin cleared his throat. “I have to see what you have first, make sure it’s quality stuff.”

“I only have quality stuff.” Yoongi rolled his eyes, cringing at himself.

Chapter Fifteen Update:

Just finished chapter fifteen!! I need to do the edits and a read through. This will be the last update for a while because I go back to a crazy work schedule tomorrow.

Also, this chapter is not that long, but it sure has a lot!

I hope to have it posted tonight! I’ll post here once it’s up!

Chapter Fifteen Preview, also doubles as an updated story summary (TW: panic attack)

Someone was watching him. 

Cold, paralyzing panic swept his body, holding him hostage against the sweat-soaked bedding. What was he doing? He had to move. He is trained for this…no, he used to be trained to fight through panic and fear.

Now, he was a damsel, held hostage by his own creation. His blanket, once soft and safe, was now a crushing slab of concrete pinning him on his back. The once calming and light sheets now clung to his leg like a chain ready to drag him out to sea. He was sinking, drowning on dry land, hearing the howling of the ocean cup over his ears as his heartbeat steadily grew louder than his shallow breath. His eyes remain sealed shut, even as tears and sweat trickle down the sides of his face. The paralyzed blindness was his only safety in the face of his conjured fear.

You’re having a panic attack. He repeated the words over and over again in his head, trying to bring his frightened mind back to reality. Relax. No one is there. Open your eyes. You are imagining things. Control your breathing. The mantra continued to echo, but his throat remained closed up as his body refused the words his mind provided. 

Please, calm down!

Chapter Fifteen is about halfway written!! Here’s a little preview, I’ll post another longer one once it’s closer to complete!!

Chapter Fifteen Preview:

Someone was watching him. 

He could feel the paralyzing coldness sweeping throughout his body, holding him hostage against the bed.

So, this was KINDA a troll preview. Chapter fifteen is halfway done!! But I just finished the cover art this morning and wanted to also give a little **wink wink nudge nudge** this next chapter is what inspired me to write this story!!

You know when you think of a scene randomly and then base an entire story around it?? That’s this chapter…or at least one scene in this chapter!! It’s what the story summary was birthed from and the very first scene I wrote….like two-three years ago. I have to re-write that entire scene because it was written from a different perspective and doesn’t really fit my writing style now.

Anyway, I’m excited and nervous for this one!! It should hopefully be done by Friday…maybe…my job gets crazy busy again starting Saturday, so if it’s not done by then don’t expect an update for a while!!

Progress on (a) chapter…

I was really on a roll with posting once a month, last month I posted twice!! This month though….I’ve written around 3,000 words for chapter sixteen 😅

I really wanted to get this scene outta my head and just skipped right over chapter fifteen, poor thing! Anyway, just finished the scene that was stuck in my head so now I can focus on the actual next chapter!!

Count to three almost over 😭

I already had a timeline set but…

I just solidified the timeline and the story should be wrapped up and the final period should be typed in three (long) chapters. 😢

I’m really excited to finish my first story in about 12 years. BUT I’ve also been writing Count to THREE for almost two years now and I’m really going to miss it!

(Maybe I’ll ghost the story so it’ll never end. 😆 jk jk)

I JUST posted an update saying hopefully I could get the next chapter posted in a week and gave a lil spoiler….

How did I get into a writing frenzy and finish it?

Like, it’s done?? How did that happen??

How is chapter fourteen over 9,000 words long???

Time to edit this beast and read it, cause I’m not even sure what I wrote is even readable with how fast I just knocked that out. 😅

I just finished editing!! I’m going to read through it tomorrow with fresh eyes after work and if everything looks good…it *should* be posted sometime tomorrow!

I was so into writing the last part of the chapter that I almost forgot I promised a preview tonight!! It’s not much, but I’m afraid of giving away too big of spoilers 😅

Count to THREE…chapter fourteen…preview:

“So, only his hands were damaged in the fire?”

“No, the explosion went off when he stepped over the mop bucket. His pants caught on fire, and from that level of heat and the burning…he would have pretty severe burns on his groin, legs, and maybe even his stomach and arms.”

“Would these injuries require medical care?”

“Yes, definitely.” Jimin was nodding his head rapidly, scooting closer in his seat as it finally dawned on him where this was going. “Take it from me…” The omega doctor lifted his hands to show the white scars that graffitied his palms and fingers. “…untreated burns for even a few hours are excruciatingly painful; he’d need to be medically treated.”

“Hospitalized?”

“Yes!” Jimin was almost vibrating with how excited he was with this news. “He would have to be seen or treated for those types of burns! I can call around some of my old contacts and see if anyone checked in…”

Like, I said, it’s not much!! But I am finishing up the last part now so hopefully I can get it posted this week?? It would be crazy having three months in a row with an update??? 😱

Chapter Fourteen Update

Just finished the second part of the chapter! It’s now 2/3rds of the way done!! I’ve also been editing along the way so the final edit shouldn’t take tooo long!

One last scene to write! This last part in the chapter is very important and emotionally draining so it might take me a few days to get through it!

I’ll post the chapter preview either tonight or tomorrow!!

Finished the fist 1/3 of chapter fourteen! Unfortunately, it was the easy part… The next two parts are gonna be a little more difficult and take a bit more time.
