“I have no clue what that means, but good for you.”
“Seriously? I mean, they are Mary Jane’s, it’s not like they’re peep toe stilettos”

Kurt nodded, “Yeah, Riley, do you know him?” he said proudly, taking the homework away. “That’s good for you then” he replied with a chuckle.
“boyfriend?” he questioned, eyebrows knitting together in confusion. that was something he hadn’t known. he hadn’t wanted to see the homework, was just trying to make conversation but now it was in front of him he couldn’t help but proof read. “i stayed at my boyfriends apartment, the, college guy i’ve been seeing.” he added, biting on his lip.

Kurt chuckled, “It’s okay, what was that about?”
“Please pretend that you know me.” she asked and hugged the person hiding her face in their chest. “Sorry…”

“Why?”
“Okay, switching schools not far before prom season should be a crime.”

Kurt drummed his fingers along the notebook, sighing heavily when he heard a voice. He looked up over to Thorne, chewing his lip nervously. He hadn’t spoken to him properly since the party. “I uh, yeah” he said with a shrug, pulling out his bag and handing it over to the male. He had to agree with him though, he was already missing spring break like crazy. “I know, I went to Disneyland with my boyfriend” he said, smiling at the thought of Riley for a few moments.
“did you do the homework?” he questioned, a quirk of his brow as he checked the date on his phone for the millionth time this weekend. he hoped that checking enough would somehow reverse the date. he’d been in heaven over spring break, he’d told his parents he was taking a trip with friends and then spent every day in the comfort of his boyfriend’s apartment on the edge of town. it was clear to see he’d enjoyed himself, he looked lighter than usual, less anxious, happy. he’d lost a small amount of definition from the lack of gym sessions, and his usual sun kissed skin was pale. there was a glow to him though, a content glow that shone through all of that. “i did it, i mean, you probably knew i would. i didn’t want it to be late just because we’ve been off, you know?” he paused again, eyes winding up glued to the floor. “i wish it wasn’t over yet”

Kurt smiled goofily down at Riley. He felt completely safe but vulnerable at the same time when he was around Riley. He could be himself, show every side of him, but it also scared him, he had no guard up around Riley, and he could just hurt him in a second.
The boy laughed softly and nodded, already enjoying the trip that the two of them would be sharing. He couldn’t wait to spend nights tangled up with the other. He sighed softly at his comment. For some reason he’d always imagined a future with Riley, even though he knew marriage was out of the question, it was always in the back of his mind. “Okay you have a fair point, but still” he said, running a hand through his hair as he got comfortable in the car. The male nodded slowly, squeezing his hand. “Yeah, of course it does, you know you can tell me anything right?” he said quietly, looking over to him.

Riley couldn’t help but laugh at Kurt rolling his eyes, a mannerism he learned to love generously, almost expecting it every time he made a crude comment or ridiculous joke. He was really in love with the other guy, Riley couldn’t remember putting this much effort to remember the small details of another person. But with Kurt he wanted to map out every detail, physical or not, like an explorer in a new territory. He loved learning something new about Kurt each other, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. He felt his face warm up at Kurt’s comment, quickly slipped out of his hoodie before wrapping it around his waist. “Close enough to less clothes, right? Let’s wait until we get into our hotel room.” Riley kissed Kurt’s cheek just one more time before rolling his eyes, following him into the car. “Babe, do you really think I could get married? I could barely call you my boyfriend until as of recent.” Riley chuckled, sitting in the passenger seat as he clicked the seat-belt on. He grabbed Kurt’s hand instinctively, intertwining their fingers. “But uh no, I kind of wanted to talk to you about what happened around Easter.” He paused for a moment. “I don’t want any secrets between us, and I want to be invested in this as much as possible which I realized meant if I need help, I should trust to confide in you if that makes sense.”

Kurt loved all of Riley’s mannerisms, like how he’d stand on his toes just so he could be the one to kiss him. He adored Riley, and he was slowly becoming okay with that every second. His eyes widened at the other’s words, his cheeks turning a dark pink as he bit his lip before rolling his eyes. “Shut up” he grumbled, following him.
The taller male chuckled softly as he helped Riley put their bags into the back of the car. “Well, you’re wearing too many clothes also, so I guess this isn’t working out well for us so far” he said dramatically, winking at him before opening Riley’s door. “Sure. Is everything okay? You’re not going to drop something like ‘I’m married’ on me are you?” he said with a nervous chuckle, getting into his own seat.

Riley laughed the instant Kurt kissed his forehead, his face warming up as his smile grew even wider. He hated himself for how much he missed Kurt, found it strange he was capable of such strong feelings for anyone after he’d spent so long trying to get rid of said feelings. The fact Kurt was willing to be patient with him was something he was thankful for. Lifting himself up to his toes, Riley leaned into Kurt’s ear holding onto his hand for balance. “I did miss calling you daddy.” He hummed smirking at him before leaving. The idea of going to Disneyland was getting better and better each second.
Getting back to the beach, luggage at hand, Riley walked with Kurt to their car feeling his smile get even brighter. “Yeah, me too. It feels like a dream. But assuming you’re still wearing most of your clothes, I know it’s not.” He laughed before opening the back, getting their bags inside. “Do you mind if you drive? I actually wanted to talk to you about some things.”

Kurt licked his lips and smirked, “Oh, well good thing we’ll be having our own room at Disney then” he said, kissing his forehead. He really did miss Riley, it was like they were soul mates. He wouldn’t admit it though, but he really did feel like Riley was his other half.
The taller male did the exact same, luckily he wasn’t rooming with anyone and managed to get a bigger refund than expected. He dragged his luggage back to Riley with a loud grin. “Hi, let’s go” he said, kissing him deeply. “Should I drive or should you?” he asked, intertwining their fingers as he walked over to the cars. His heart was beating a hundred beats per second and he couldn’t of been more excited. “I can’t believe we get to spend spring break away together, alone, at disneyland” he said, beaming as he kissed Riley again.

Riley laughed nodding his head, his fingers intertwining with Kurt’s. He never quite liked being the shortest in most of his relationships, but he loved the way Kurt’s body felt wrapped around his. He particularly enjoyed lifting himself up to kiss him too. “Yeah, I love my current roommates, but I had a lot of ideas for us.” He smirked running his free hand up and down Kurt’s arms feeling his face warm up the instant he kissed his cheek. God he missed this, he missed him.
“So I’ll meet you in an hour then?” Riley asked raising eyebrow. He wanted to enjoy the moment, but he was also far too excited to take it in too much. Letting go of their hands, Riley kissed Kurt just one more time before heading toward his cabin, sneaking glances at the other guy without even a falter to his smile. Quickly packing up his things, Riley left to get his refund, then walked back to the beach again to wait for Kurt, his heart beating loud and his face warm with enthusiasm.

Not once in his life did Kurt ever feel as if he belonged with someone. He never believed in true love, only thought of it as a fictional thing, that was only written in fairy tails. He could never before now see himself spending the rest of his life with another, but here he was, standing in front of Riley, thinking just that.
Kurt’s eyes fell to their hands, smiling goofily when Riley kissed his knuckles. “Yeah, i’d love that. This is gonna be so fun. Plus, I prefer rooming with you anyways” he replied with a shrug. He really was excited to be going on their own little trip, especially as he’d be spending so much time with Riley. “Alright, that sounds good. And no, no it doesn’t. I’ve missed you like crazy on this trip, it’s weird” he said with a soft, content sigh as he leaned down to kiss the boy’s cheek.

Every kiss felt like the first with Kurt, and Riley felt the butterflies in his stomach the instant their lips touched. He never felt this way with anyone, such a magnetic force pushing him toward Kurt and never quite letting him detach. If this was what love was, Riley was positive he was in love with Kurt.
Which was why it felt so natural to say it. Perhaps the red string was thin, maybe it broke. But Riley told himself no matter what happened he’d tie it as many times as he had to in order to stay attached to the other. He was really in love with Kurt, something Riley never thought he could be with anyone. And he was thankful Kurt felt the same way.
“Shitty hotel and Disneyland sounds great, especially with you.” Riley hummed kissing Kurt’s forehead as he went up on his toes to. He grabbed his hand and kissed his knuckles again. “Maybe we should pack our things, get as much as a refund as we can from this shitty trip, then meet up back here and we can find a place?” Riley pursed his lips together. “Is it weird to say I’d miss you even though we’ll be a part for like an hour.”
