this post reminds me of that one post in STAY communities when MAXIDENT dropped. Everyone was taking about the massive contrast between dark-concept ODDINARY and silly goofy, cutesy “main theme is love” MAXIDENT. This is like the opposite. Lemon Drop was the fun summer song, these teasers are giving return-to-the-lore and dark-concept.

aight that’s good, follow your rice cooker’s instructions carefully then. (ie measurements for cooked vs uncooked rice since cooked rice expands)

the cleaning supplies part is giving Coin Flavoured Tteokbokki to my STAY brain. (“Did you wash the spoon?” “No” “Did you wash the pot?” “No” “No wonder it tastes awful. Get better”)

my dad loves cooking, and usually he's great at it

however occasionally. occasionally. it will go horribly wrong.

he tried to make rice (which he makes with a bunch of meals). however something went wrong with the other ingredients he added so it ended up "somewhere between soggy and raw" & compared it to antacid tablets (uncle commented that he didn't know rice could do that)

uncle: you're allowed to be human.

dad, sadly: not when it comes to cooking :(

My dad's similar, but it's more often than not on the worse side. I'm not a meat fan, but I've been told steak shouldn't be chewy and chicken shouldn't taste like cleaning supplies

oh yeah yeah texas is huge

i mean yeah technically bc coast is like. rainforest. but okanagan area (past the coast mountains in general) is like, a lot drier? borderline desert?

it’s like warmest daily temperatures 10-15C for october/november and march/april, starts to very gradually warm up in may, heat wave hits around late june (it literally finally feels like summer now), peak temperature is late july to mid august, then it rapidly cools down to below 20C by september. coldest time of the year is in january now, the seasons are getting kinda shifted by climate change.

seriously it’s Canada. the rest of the country is even colder. Vancouver’s pretty mild, it’s just rainy.

so i run Cold. i can wear a jacket in like 80°F weather (would probably be higher if it wasn't so fucking humid where i live) and not overheat.

I have been given Cool Rocks by people that run very warm, and felt the rock cool down drastically in my hand bc I'm just Not Warm apparently

if its anywhere below 70°F, my hands will randomly turn Freezing Cold sometimes, which i love to use to bug people ([puts a hand on friend's arm] friend: whY ARE YOU SO COLD!?).

there was a time where i was laying down reading on my phone, in a fluffy robe over my normal clothes, under a blanket, and with my friend laying on me (I'm very affectionate).

Friend: ... how are you not overheating??

me: dunno. actually my hands are a bit cold.

friend: ??????

I'm actually exactly the same, my sister has had to grab my hand and manually try to warm it up. And I was still freezing.

Although, the upside of that is I can never get burnt. Sunburnt, maybe, but I've never gotten burnt badly on a stove.

Mystic how often does your family have rice (if it's often, get a ricecooker. seriously. helps a lot to get the water proportion right. try not to use instant rice it almost always tastes horrible)

uhm remind me what "biome" texas is considered?

i lived under the idea texas is a desert somehow? genuinely i thought texas was the wild west lol idk how my brain got there but i never thought texas was. humid.

in Canada the prairies are drier than the coasts, the mountains block all of the water clouds from the ocean so alberta is dry-ish and bc is raining (or covered in puddles with water dripping off of trees, buildings, and anything overhead, so it feels like its still raining) 2/3 of the time

it's the opposite here, 10-15 C at the warmer times of day, negative single digits during the coldest parts of the winter. (my brain does not comprehend farenheit scale or american measurements in general. seriously what's your thing just switch to the metric system, it's more logical and the rest of the world already has.)

vancouver used to get snowy winters, but global warming ruined that too. now it's like rain + snow in the worst possible combination. you get nice pretty white snow for a day or two and then it becomes slush (brown mud slush btw because of cars). the ski resorts have to use fake snow to make up for the lack of good real snow, and it's not much better (the fake snow is like, crushed ice, it doesn't pack in the same way as real snow and it hurts more to fall on it, idk how to better describe it but i hate it)

im kinda adjusted to 20+ C = hot because well Canada

30-ish to 30+ C weather is like “yikes global warming” weather

seriously summer in Vancouver used to be nice and worth dealing with the other 9 months of near nonstop rain/precipitation in general

now it’s just really hot and dry and pls save us from the global warming

i can’t really imagine texas weather tbh. is it warm year-round? or not since i heard it’s cooler on the prairies than the coast. i don’t remember much of the weather in Atlanta when I went for BCX, it was just 2 days and i was mostly inside. But it was pretty warm despite being november, it was still warm-ish (didn’t really need a jacket) even after sunset.

so. according to my family i cant perceive temperature. they’ll be like it’s so cold wear more layers or it’s so hot take something off, and im like “nah im fine”. according to them it’s because i tend to get obsessed with my interests and spiral into to them intensely.

and as a cosplayer i have built up a burn tolerance. hot glue accidents just happen okay?

however im still terrified of hot objects.

very likely. haven’t been an atiny for long enough to know kq ent’s management patterns, but I know SKZ had a tendency to pre-release solo songs at concerts. (a stay who spent a couple months listening to low-quality fancam versions of ULTRA/So Good)

hi! it’s been a while, i know school’s out (and i said i’d fix my life and do some of the many things i want to do then) but unfortunately im not very good at the fixing my life part. yk, it’s a big thing and im the kinda person who says regrettable stuff and “goes oh dear that’s a lot to do” later. lately i’ve spiraled into an old writing project (or 2) i’ve decided to revive. will infodump in dms ‘cause neither has been publicly posted anywhere and i wish to keep the general plots under wraps until i publish them (either here on tumblr or on an actual writing platform like AO3)

…SKZ had them on the DominATE tour while that was going on, and I’ve seen plenty of pictures of <k-pop idols who i can’t put the name to the face of> with them.

(I have kinda awful face recognition, I don’t trust my ability to name most k-pop idols by pictures, just SKZ, ATEEZ, i-dle and a select few others)
